    I have no idea if they are or are not.  But I do know they are full of humans, God's creatures.  And there is zero upside to the comment and only downside as a human, President, and an alleged Christian.  I like Presidents who think about the words they say before they say them and are conscientious of their impact.  I like Presidents who have a spec of humanity for all humans.  As a financial services executive, I have to think about everything I write and everything I say due to the ramifications.  It's not that high of a standard to hold someone to and one I hold myself to every single day.    
    So what he said isn't racist, it is just insensitive now? Because he is supposed to fit a mold, right?
    Considering his follow up was "why can't we have more immigrants from Norway", plus every other comment he's made, then I would say...yes absolutely it's racist.  If he was just anti-immigrant, then he should be against immigrants from any country.  Yet, he selected brown countries as the target of his vitriol.  I have a Kenyan engineer that works for me.  He's very good, trained in Kenya came over in 2002 or so.  I can guarantee he's more skilled than plenty of Norwegians.

    To crystallize the point, if Trump would advocate a pathway to citizenship for those here already, and a merit based program for the future, then I could actually get behind that.  But that's not what his comments indicate.

    Unsung, I couldn’t agree more. Trump uses words as distractions because he’s not constitutionally bound to being polite, and because it creates conversations about his “fitness” for President rather than the egregious actions he and people around him are trying to pull off. That said, we’re all just on a message board anyways - not like I can do anything proactive when he continues wiretapping either.
    If you think Trump is trying to keep us distracted you haven't been paying attention. 
    dignin, my bad. To clarify, I don't think he's intentionally creating distractions, but that's certainly the effect. It really seems that the amount of time spent discussing Trump's words is greatly disproportionate to the amount of time spent discussing his actions.
    I agree with you there. Unfortunately the list of his bad policy and words is almost breathtaking.
