Un-woke.  This guy needs to check his privilege, whoever he is.
The whole crowd was UN-woke. Proudest I’ve ever been chanting, USA, USA!
Was that Philly?  I vaguely remember that, although I remember him having on a Rocky shirt one night and a Bruce the other.  I also recall him coming out in stars and stripes robe in either 13 or 16 in Philly.

I'm more than ready for an arena show in Philly.  NEVER miss a Philly show.  That's rule one of PJ concerts for me.
Don’t forget his affection for EVel. Lots of red, white, blue, and stars in those merch designs, lol.

Maybe everyone should drop acid and adopt a new flag.

Back when I was in the Boy Scouts, I was inadvertently taught to have little interest or respect for flags.  At one of the BSA Jamborees, we had to (it was like being drafted into the military) play a game called Capture the Flag.  The idea of the game is to teach kids military tactics in order to seize the other teams flag.  The lesson they were trying to teach me was totally turned around.  I never had an interest in going to war. I don't want someone else's flag.  I don't even know why we have flags.  Maybe there's something wrong with me.  Doctor, please help me, I'm damaged?

And if that dude would not have joined the military, there is an absurdly big chance he would have been shot/assaulted by the police in your little country just for being black. So Kaepernick "shit on it" for him too.
I didn't think I would have to explain this.  The American flag is a symbol of our country. So when I say he died for the flag, okay I'll fix my wording. TheAmerican Flag represents the United States of America soldiers fight for Amarica they don't die for the physical flag itself.
FOX set it up like that and SHE set it up like that. Technically they arent even defending the country. They are defending the document and the ideals it represents. The Constitution isnt a symbol.

Her son and many others died defending the rights contained in that document. First among them is speech. If the SCOTUS has deemed burning the flag permissible speech then kneeling before it in protest is rather benign, dont you think? Further no one stands , hand on heart during the anthem because the military defends the "symbol". Because the Anthem isnt about them. Its about the ideals this country espouses, but sadly has yet to fully live up to.

Having served myself, whether I agree with his decision or not is irrelevant. I do , however, celebrate the fact that for all its flaws , we reside in a country that has this right.
I for one than thank you very much for your service mickeyrat.
So when the anthem is playing and I'm standing for the flag & honering people like you and the rest of our military past present and future.  Nothing political about it.
    Thank you again Mickey rat.
let me respectfully request when you stand for the anthem, do so for The Constitution, which made this all possible, the good, the bad, the indifferent.

But do you, who has been in the military -  throw a hissy fit like some people (on the right, on fox news, and on this thread) because a person chose to peacefully protest and found that the most fitting way for him was to kneel instead of stand for the national anthem?

See this is where I am.  When I stand, it's not just for the military.  Certainly their sacrifice is part of it, but it's not the only thing.  It's the Constitution, it's the system, the people, the military, our land, the flag, everything.

And it’s ridiculous and should be pointed out that blacks have served in every war or cause in American history and sacrificed blood for “the flag”. It’s theirs too. Take it back!

answered within this quote chain already.

should also note, he started by sitting on the bench. at the suggestion of  soldier during a calm and rational conversation between the two each explaining their individual stances , he began kneeling instead.

Standing up for a piece of graphic design and fabric like it's some magic artifact, is quite silly.

I doubt any sympathetic person ever raised an eyebrow over Kaepernick's "disrespect" for the flag/national anthem. But a lot of less than sympathetic people obviously did.

One guy kneels during the national anthem to shine a spotlight on a systematically racist police force.
DRAG THAT DISRESPECTFUL SUBHUMAN BACK TO THE PLANTAGON!

One guy is president and can't even color this oh-so magic flag correctly, doesn't know when airplanes were invented and by all accounts raped 13 year olds.
HE'S A BEACON OF LIGHT AND MAKES OUR COUNTRY GREAT AGAIN!

    Priorities. How do they work.

82,538 tons displacement including planes, parts , personnel and supplies. Modern Super Carriers are heavier and bigger. mostly so subtle you could barely feel it. War games around the Aleutian islands we encountered some very rough seas.  Got a little nauseated.

as for out that long, didnt get a full tour in which is roughly 6 months. accumulated 90 days sea time. But you work 7 days a week. 12-16 hrs a day. port calls break that up and they do steal beach days, swimming and diving off the aircraft elevators.

    edit to correct ship weight.

This Flag Day, 40 rare historic flags will go on display at the Museum of the American Revolution, marking the first time that this collection has ever been displayed together. The flags feature 32 different arrangements of 13 stars, representing the 13 colonies that declared independence from Great Britain during the Revolutionary War. The 13-star flag became the official flag of the new nation on June 14, 1777, when the Continental Congress passed the first Flag Act. In an adjacent activity space, visitors of all ages can try on Revolutionary-inspired clothing, handle replica objects, and participate in activities like designing their own flag.
Good thing nobody is making this argument, except yourself of course.

Be careful or he'll drop in a "snowflakes"-meme -- and we all know where the "snowflake"-thing comes from and who is using it.

And if that dude would not have joined the military, there is an absurdly big chance he would have been shot/assaulted by the police in your little country just for being black. So Kaepernick "shit on it" for him too.

I have no problem with people peacefully protesting whatever they want. I'm cool with it even if I disagree with its premise.
The people who have hissy fits believe there are better venues to do it in.
Making a spectacle at ball games when all the cameras are on you is where a lot of people have issues with it.  Not the protest itself.

@mickeyrat when did you serve and what branch?
hestitated to bring it up but needed to illustrate some truths.

US NAVY. didnt complete my enlistment due to alcoholism.  1 yr 5 months active service. Oct 88 to Apr 90
VS-37 attached to CVW-14 first on CV-64 USS Constellation then CV-62 USS Independence. Based out of Coronado Naval Ait Station in San Diego.

Squadron was missioned for anti-submarine warfare.
Thank you for your service .  I can’t inagine being on a boat for that long!! You get sea sick a lot or do you just get used to it?
90,000 tons displacement not including planes, parts , personnel and supplies.

One of my dreams would be to take off from a carrier on a F-14.  I'd probably shit my pants and scream the entire time lol.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

There's a lot of riling people up about it too though.  Each side seeks to take political advantage.  Again, it's the sickening 'outrage' culture that we have in this country.

For me, he is at work. So his workplace rules apply. If they don’t care, I don’t care.

I thought meeting with a serviceman and switching to kneeling was a good move though. No matter why you are doing it, sitting on your ass getting paid millions of $ isn’t a good look.

But do you, who has been in the military -  throw a hissy fit like some people (on the right, on fox news, and on this thread) because a person chose to peacefully protest and found that the most fitting way for him was to kneel instead of stand for the national anthem?
I have no problem with people peacefully protesting whatever they want. I'm cool with it even if I disagree with its premise.
The people who have hissy fits believe there are better venues to do it in.
Making a spectacle at ball games when all the cameras are on you is where a lot of people have issues with it.  Not the protest itself.

There's a lot of riling people up about it too though.  Each side seeks to take political advantage.  Again, it's the sickening 'outrage' culture that we have in this country.
Why shouldn't people who want to stop police brutally take political advantage of it and help it further their cause?

CK should get himself a sign and stand in front of the NYPD headquarters and protest...he has no real platform other than these well thought out marketing scams that tend to rile people up...and not that many people even care...maybe those here, but not many.
