The only two who came across to me as being "presidential" were Christie and Bush. The others seemed either not ready, not qualified, crazy, or some combination of the three.

I don't find Bush presidential at all. He's a boring nerd IMO. He comes off as kind of weak or meek I think, just in his mannerisms, which isn't a good look for a president.

We will never get rid of the IRS. The IRS collects the taxes that we need to function. It doesn't make tax law....that's Congress. Any time a politician says that I cringe.

Can we get rid of Congress? Repeal and replace.

I've often thought we need to find a way to have a congress that really works the way it is supposed to- for the people, not for the 1% who get what they want buy buying favors.

The other change I would make (and will never happen) would be to reduce the power of the president. His or her main job should be to present the ideas that congress puts forth and just look good as a representative of who we are. I've never understood giving so much power to one person. A country is not a sports team.

I'd like to see the presidency consist of a single 6-year term. Don't worry about reelection, just do the job.

I've been ranting about this for 10 years.

As A JEB guy,I will say his swag was a little flat, but I live in his state and know what he really does,so I'm not worried. He takes care of buisness.I caution some of you that already think he is his brother,he is not.

Kasich did well I thought.Stable,reasonable,honest....that's a good start.

Dr Carson- has no chance but is a very bright guy with some interesting ideas, maybe a good surgeon general?

Trump- as entertaining as he is,let's be real here.He has no chance. But his honesty is refreshing.

    Paul- ehhhhhh

    Huckabee- double ehhhhh

Christie- "if I'm president the pot party is over" .Thank you big fella that says it all. Idiot

Rubio- also a FL guy.He does have the youth thing and held his own. This might be one to watch, maybe in a VP slot if not.He def upped his stock.

    Walker= dork

4 years is definitely way too short when half of it is taken up by focused campaigning.

3 things could help this country get back on track.
    1) campaign finance. Candidates can only spend $2 million (or whatever number) per election. If you blow it all during the primaries, oh well.

    2) term limits for EVERYONE. Being in Congress shouldn't be a full time job. Having the president serving one 6 year term would allow him/her to serve and not worry about reelection and lame duck status.

3)eliminate the party system. Candidates run based on their own beliefs and raise their own money.

The financial support/blackmail/bribery/corruption problem is enormous. There should definitely be a cap, and some much more restrictive rules about who can donate funds..... or something. Our governments should not be owned by the wealthy the way they are, and the only thing thst could stop that is regulation. Would be complicated, but i can't think of any other way to try and stop it (of course, there is no way to stop it - we're doomed IMO).

I have always pictured a YouTube style government website that provides a platform for candidates that avoids the trappings of paying for commercial advertising. Strict limits on campaign spending with reasonable exemptions for traveling. I would love to see more beatin feet the old fashioned way and less attack ads on TV.

Great idea, Jimmy. I would go for that.

It's already started. Trump is going go talk himself out of the race. He has been booted from a conservative event tonight for some stupid shit he said about Megan Kelly. He said "she was bleeding out of her eyes. She was bleeding out of wherever." I admit, it doesn't soumd very bad. But it's just the start. He hasn't learned that he can't say whatever he wants.

It doesn't sound very bad? A presidential candidate suggesting that a news anchor who grilled him only did so because she was on her period?

That's extremely disrespectful, sexist, and disgusting

I am going to assume you heard the story before you read it here. Or did you come up with that based on that quote alone without the context of why he said that? That's why I said it doesn't sound that bad. I agree with you and that's why I posted it here.

They will do whatever they have to in order to eliminate him. Including twisting his words and infecting their own presumed meaning. He's fucked either way.

I know that all the "experts" think he's going to destroy his candidacy on his own, and that may be true, but for now people are perplexed at how he's breaking the rules and he's still appealing to voters (latest reports say his popularity is even rising among Dem voters).

My wife says if stays high in the polls he'll probably be assasinated. She was exaggerating, but I can almost see that happening.

Somebody on cnn made a good point. He said Megan Kelly is a professional, hard hitting journalist who likes to dish. She doesn't need to be treated like a delicate flower when someone dishes it back towards her. Everyone is making a big deal out of what trump said except kelly.

Sure, I'd agree she and all other interviewers need to be prepared for this sort of thing. The importance of it is what it shows about Trump's character and ability to deal with challenging people, not that an interviewer was offended.

When you're bashing Fox News personnel, you know you've crossed the line with GOP voters who watch Fox News. THAT is the very reason Trump will not make it.

    Bye Felicia Trump.

How the interviewer feels about the comment didn't even cross my mind, actually.
