So the train was going 106mph in a 50 zone, huh?

Those trains from at least port Richmond in don't go more than 30 or so. I don't get it at all.
just horrible. the one car is just obliterated. and didn't the same thing happen up in ny-ct last year where the guy was going to fast to make a turn? 106 in a 50. unless it's mechanical failure that conductor is fucked.

I love how this guy doesn't remember anything after he talks to his lawyer.

I don't know a single person survived that front car.

Yeah, the metro north. That is at least a bit explainable as he was going that fast and supposedly fell asleep. There is no excuse for this guy going that fast that close to the city. Not like he can use the excuse that he had it cruising and fell asleep.

    Horrible situation

I know someone who works for Amtrack and drove a train an hour before that on the same tracks. He said that train was going 88 in and 80 mph zone and then floored it a 1/4 mile before the 50 mph turn.

well other than the fact that he played something like 30 games last year (i kid i kid)

Harang has been really good. got to think a team in the race will be interested in him too.

and yea Papelbon is a giant douche but he has been pretty effective since he got here. and Jose Mesa wouldn't have been in my top 5 or 6 guesses on who led the Phils in saves if asked this question before the season.

Unsurprisingly Kenney wins big. I think he will be a good mayor. Very progressive, has done a lot to move center city forward, and has a good relationship with city council. Schools like him which is generally good though that entire situation is a disaster. Ramsey will likely still be around assuming he wants to be. Biggest worry has to be how much influence Johnny Doc and the unions have. They are fucking destroying the convention center.

The election was Tuesday. Philly hasn't had a republican mayor since the early 50's and that isn't changing now

Figured you'd be more into the Collegeville political machine, haha.

I like her, but she has no chance. She also isn't very republican. I would like to see her put up a fight against Kenney but it's not going to happen.

obviously she has no chance. that's my point. the city has had the same problems since before i've been alive and yet they continue to elect the same party into office like robots. other party is non existent. system's broke.
