Looks like I won't be seeing them even after five years. For someone who has travelled country wide to see the band for the past 15 years this is a real kick in the guts.

Keep in mind when Soundgarden Headlined , the same announcement of "No sideshows" was also made but they did then anyway. I will begrudgingly pay for the more expensive ticket because they are my favorite band can't have them come to Oz and miss it. Hopefully won't have many hipsters around the stage.

I usually hate the bitching, and I did see this coming, but am feeling really disillusioned with the band and the 10C at the moment
I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!
  • Hey folks.

I know this isn't the best news for some of you (it hit me too), but I really, really hope your love for PJ wins out in the end. If that means rocking up a half hour or so before Pearl Jam hit the stage and finding yourself a decent viewing spot, so be it. I can promise you that once you hear those opening chords, you'll feel better.

I do empathise with you though. Enjoy your night - I hope you can.

what's the point of pre sale?

They never sell out anyhow and there's absolutely 0 benefit

    Fucking bollocks

    Really disillusioned

$185, so much for the band that cared about affordable ticket pricing.

You mean while they're drowned out by all the other bands playing?

So depressing!!! I can't believe I have to go to BDO... I can already see what will happen just like every other Aussie festival I have attended. I'll be stuck in the crowd behind some drunk dip shit bogan who is screaming out "play your old stuff!!!" and what should be a great day quickly turns miserable.

The monopoly that these rich fat fuck festival promoters have over who tours downunder is now ridiculous. It's definately not for the fans anymore, its just for these greedy promoters to line their pockets. $185 and we'll probably only get half the set time PJ would normally play if it were just an arena tour.

    Sickened.

I will personally unplug any other band.

Seriously though, I know where you're coming from. But from my one other BDO experience, the only time I could hear anything from the other stage was in between songs. And even then it was very faint.

I am devastated that PJ would go down the road of the big day out. That pathetic festival ran it's course many years ago. All it is now is a trendy teeny bopper party, for people to be 'seen' at..usually in fluro..
And even worse we fan club members will receive no benefits when PJ are in our land..Why exactly do we pay $50 a year?!! This leaves me completely disillusioned.
I'm as big a fan as the next guy on here, but I wont be paying for an over priced BDO ticket to watch them from 3km away for 30 minutes! Look after the real fans PJ!!!!!

I know right?? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. I'm due to give birth on January 12, which probably means the 20th, which probably means I will have a 4 day old bubba that I wouldn't leave for hell or high water . . . If however I give birth on time I will brave the crowds for two hours (yes with my leaky boobs and fucked up pelvis) to see our boys . . . I think jw8788 you should definitely consider 'like a boss tix' for a bit more room etc. That's what I'll be aiming to get, just to have in case I can go . . . $285 and guaranteed more space etc . . . If you go just for PJ you should manage? With partner along to help?

Oh Elmo! I think I'll stop complaining, you're in much more of a conundrum! I definitely think if I go I'll only be going for the PJ set. The like a boss tix would be ok just for access to the toilets (nothing like needing to go to the toilet every 30 seconds with a 3km line to wait in!). I saw EV solo when I was pregnant with my daughter...maybe its a theme. I'll keep having babies so we get a tour everytime! By the way, I've heard leaky boobs are all the rage this year, you'll fit right in ;)

People are genuinely unhappy about Pj playing in their country?

sure side shows would be great but the contract I would think is the issue here, and maybe if they sell out they will announce a few shows too. Don't be too quick to judge.

    a show is a show.

the complaints on price are understandable. I would be going only to see PJ...nothing else of interest so that would make it a pricey ticket.....but in real terms you are paying to see a lot of acts and that's why the price is on the high side

Just be glad these 50 year old millionaires are touring. Most big bands retire by this point. I wish my city didnt get a festival date last time but its only one tour! At least you have the shot to see them (multiple times). They couldve chosen Europe again. Big paycheck and the chance to try something different in Australia? No brainer.
