So how is a small group of ten club memeber friends supposed to plan to go to a specific show now?

Before, during a 10c ticket sale, we'd be on the phone during the sale or in gchat and constantly updating each other on purchase status and which show was still available... and or, "ok I got this show, we are in! Don't worry about spending another $170 on a pair"

Now.... the odds of us both or all winning the same lottery in the same order are TOTALLY outrageuos and we may as well just say fuck it. And if we only want one pair to one show and want to increase odds of getting 10c seats, we'll both enter.... but we may get obligated to buy 2 pair which is not the end of the world, but 10c should seriously have a 24hour canclation window on a lottery purchase....

There's no easy way to plan now.... without possible overspending or maybe ending up not going to the same shows with friends....

    does my logic make sense?

So basically now we ARE gambling.... cause with my reasoning and tactics, we could end up "losing" $170 that we wouldn't have spent if 2 friends enter and "win" for the same show but only really want 1 pair. And I believe the 10c policy is that you can not transfer or sell 10c seats, right???

Hahahhahaaa yessss, my logic says you lose $170 if you "win"...... that's just fucked up!

so,if you both win,the problem is what to do with the extra pain??
sell it..will be gone in a minute in the forum
even better now,cos you can choose which of two can use,the one with lower member numbers i guess and sell the other, even you have 2 chances to win the lottery of 1,2 rows... ;)
if you score tix with the draw...

btw,i understand the cancelation window for alot of reasons, but seems isan issue 10c will not do it

and if you going for more than one shows, then you and your buddy, will put different shows for priority number 1

    :nono:

By opting to purchase tickets, you agree to all Ten Club policies:

-All ticket sales are final. No refunds, transfers or exchanges.
-Two (2) tickets per show. No single tickets.
-Tickets are not mailed in advance. Tickets are distributed at the venue on the day of the show.
-The fan club member must collect the tickets with a valid photo identification.
-Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating and allocated by membership seniority, with the exception of rows 1-2 and rows 9-10 which will be used for random allocation.
-Seat location is not revealed in advance of the show.
-Reselling of Ten Club tickets will result in cancellation of ticket purchase and revocation of all future ticket benefits.

I was just proving you wrong... It's against 10c policy, fact.

We wouldn't have a spare ticket anyways.... We'd have a spare pair.

Of course there are ways around everything without letting 10c know about selling tix, but we shouldn't be put in these situations if shit wasn't so god damn complicated now.

PUT IN A 24 HOUR CANCELATION POLICY

    damn... Give us 2 hours!

The old ticket system was crazy. I loved it at times..took days off work to try and get tickets. The stomach pains of panic were fun and demented. I once had one of my employees sit by the computer hitting refresh to get tix for MSG 2010. I actually was paying an employee to hit refresh. (Got a pair to 2nd show) It was great when it worked...even better than great. But the old system was flawed. A lot of people here missed days of work, pissed off friends or partners or worse and never even got tix. Being devoted and persistent , even being a computer geek, didn't guarantee tix.

I think everyone is over analyzing this. Don't worry. Every Tenclub member who entered the lottery for Wrigley will get tickets. There's no way with a place as big as this that anyone will get shutout.

The most tenured members of 10c are being screwed since they have the same chance of getting pit seats as someone who just joined last week. I'm 200xxx so I would have no chance at pit seats without the lottery.

Hey guys, quick question. Maybe I'm over-thinking things here, but I need a bit of clarification on the priority of ticket selection.

For example, if I set my priority for Wrigley to 1) Field Reserved 2) GA 3) Upper, how does that work? If they start the lottery with field reserved, then fine I get it or I don't. Then if they move to GA for the lottery, again I get it or I don't. Same thing for if the 3rd drawing they do is for Upper.

However, what if the first lottery they do is for GA? It's my 2nd pick so do I get entered into that lottery and if i win I'm not eligible for the field reserved?

Perhaps simplified: If there were only 2 ticket selections available, London and Chicago and I make Chicago my #1 pick and London my #2 pick, but they do the London drawing first and I get tickets there, does that mean I don't even have a chance at my first choice? If so, it's a bit of luck on which lottery they run first...correct?

Just trying to clarify what happens, if anyone knows. I realize seniority hits for those who win the lottery and that's how they figure out assigned seating, I'm just not clear on how the preference of tickets is, for lack of a better word, enforced.

Whatever it is, I'm pumped for Wrigley!!!

    Thanks!

First off, this isn't one of those threads where the OP threatens to not renew and everyone says "great, better seats for me!".

I'm simply saying that I don't appreciate or agree with 10C turning the ticketing system into a gambling system. There's a reason I don't play the real lottery and I don't gamble in casinos and that is because I don't like pissing away money. But that's just what this system encourages.

I, like many of you, am only in this fan club for tickets. Sure the other stuff is cute and all but honestly, it's for the tickets. I'm happy to say that I live in the north east and have never once been shut out of a show. Why? Is it luck? No. It's because I plan for this shit. I take off work and as nerdy as it sounds, I literally sit at the computer and practice for a few days before a sale. I map out where each button is just in case the page doesn't fully load. You see, I employ this secret ingredient called EFFORT. And guess what, it fucking works!

It's not much different than back in the day when I slept outside on a sidewalk for tickets to a high demand show. If you want something bad enough, you should have to be willing to go the extra mile. People who support the lottery system are probably the same people who want to ban tag on the playground and declare both teams winners in little league games.

But back to my original point. With the new system, the chances of scoring tix are taken completely out of my control and I'm giving 10C $20 to gamble with. I'm sorry but if you look at the numbers, it's a terrible bet.

I hope I'm not alone in this and if I'm not, is there any way we can stop this system now before they actually try it for a real tour?

I have to agree here. I would have rather had them go back to the way it used to be when you could only get one set per tour. The obvious unfair thing here is if they are coming to your home town you could be shut out of getting TC tickets. The bottom line is we're at their mercy and it's quite obvious they don't care what we think or they would have asked us before doing it this way. I have a strange feeling that they won't listen and from here on out this is the way it will be. Really sucks as I've been a member for a long time. I guess the part that sucks the most is they REALLY don't care what we think.

standing in line at tower records when i was in high school was fun. at the age of 30... not so much.

love the new system. stress free. the only thing i would question is why is it open for a full week? that seems a bit long to me. everyone is connected to the internet, why not have it open 3-5 days? earlier you know you get tickets, the earlier you can start travel arrangements, etc...

    Hey PT,

The way i see it is they select member numbers from the lottery. If your number is selected you get your first choice if it is available. If it isn't available you get your next choice. This process continues until all tickets have been sold. So they arent specifically drawing GA then Field or something like that. They are drawing specific members and if you get selected you get tickets based on whats available in your priority. Hopefully that was clear and it helps.

I understand why some people could be upset, but can we wait and see how many people get shut out" before the complaining?

Plus, 81 is correct, this isn't "Gambling." You are no further behind if you aren't selected. We have over a weeks' notice to prep for public onsale, and 5.5 months to find tickets through 10C, or various other avenues (which is a whole other topic).

WE as a collective are resourceful enough - and we will all be there if we want to be.
