  • yeah running a red light can have a negative impact on another persons life, you make a list of laws and i will tell you which i would obey and which i would not. if you believe a person should obey every single law regardless of what it is, then my friend you should move to america because the politicians here would really love you.

see you're comparing murder to wanting to own a machine, it's very dramatic but doesn't really make sense to me. and short of catching a criminal in the act, the police aren't gonna catch shit usually.
    laws are laws...
you cant follow and respect only what you like...
you will not follow the laws cos u dont like the gun control
so,if u dont like red light, what you will do??will never stop and pass??create an accident that will may kill somone..

i can give u million exables.....

But given the mentality of accepting the freedom to exercise choice with regards to law... that makes the country, in effect, lawless.

Actually that is exactly what people do.
They follow the laws they choose to.

Smoking pot, speeding, gas station gambling, sexual practices, ;) on and on...
people break laws all the time and do not consider themselves criminal.
    They justify...
  • yes man, and what that says to me is that the majority of the what is it, 300 plus million in our country, are just regular average everyday folks looking to accomplish what most people on this world do, which is to safely and comfortably raise your family until you croak of old age.
if you think what I believe is stupid, bizarre, ridiculous or outrageous.....it's ok, I think I had a brain tumor when I wrote that.

dude you're not stupid, i admire that you are so passionate about saving lives. my feeling as a gun owner is just that no matter what you do, what laws you pass and what you ban, there are still going to be people with guns commiting violence against other people. so you're essentially saying to tens of millions honest regular people that a few bad apples spoiled the barrel for you guys. and that doesn't matter to you, because you yourself don't like guns so in your mind it's like how could anyone be against that.

    Bingo.
  • no need to carry a gun to be brave..

  • you are definitely right about all politicians wanting their people to be sheep. it seems that you believe people don't commit crimes because the laws prohibiting crimes and the possible penalties, i believe most people don't commit crimes because they are good people and not because there are laws. as far as peoples differing opinions on how severe a crime is against another human being, most people believe rape is an abhorrent, repugnant thing, but as colorado and washington have said people are pretty split on drugs. it's apples and oranges to me, but that's just me, i kinda see your point

Prevention is the key! My head is spinning from all these suggestions but we are refusing to see the true cause of all these problems. I believe we should control guns but we need to examine mental health issues and health insurance in this country. But most importantly, we need to reexamine the fucked up modern society we live in and how it damages us.

I can't believe that people think they would feel safe working and dropping their kids off at a school that has got gun carrying adults lol.. what if a gun carrying teacher has a bad day, gets fired and decided to do his first criminal thing ever (i.e shooting up the school because he/she is angry, depressed etc).

people believe guns should be at school??? that blows me away on so many levels.

and you dont find a law that requires you to hand in your weapons as just?

No, I do not find it just. I'll do that just as soon as the police and the entire military does the same.

Do you think it is just to turn 80M people into felons because a few cowards have done the things that they have?
  • i believe people dont do crimes cos are good people, cos the respect the laws, cos they afraid the laws..
and im pretty sure ALOT people dont do crimes cos afraid the humilation and the penalty after they got caught..
im thinking...can you imagine how many people say to eachother "ill kill you" every day for so many stupid reasons?
can u imagine how many will do it if there was no laws or penalies for murders??

you are definitely right about all politicians wanting their people to be sheep. it seems that you believe people don't commit crimes because the laws prohibiting crimes and the possible penalties, i believe most people don't commit crimes because they are good people and not because there are laws. as far as peoples differing opinions on how severe a crime is against another human being, most people believe rape is an abhorrent, repugnant thing, but as colorado and washington have said people are pretty split on drugs. it's apples and oranges to me, but that's just me, i kinda see your point

It seems like it's all about owning guns. The feeling I get is that a lot of people are saying, "Why look for solutions when it's easier to just tote a heater."

Its that Yosemite Sam vs Bugs Bunny thing over and over and over.

Exactly Have any of you worked at a school with an armed police officer patrolling the hallways? Because I have and it is a soul crushing experience to live like that day in and day out. No way in hell, I would ever allow my child to go to school in a place like that. School is supposed to be a nurturing environment that encourages kids to be their best and you want to introduce guns and fear and hope that those are the things that end the violence???

    Well said, riotgrl.

I will say, bad on me. So many of the gun proponents just can't rant and rave enough about guns, even in the close aftermath of tragedy. We should be talking about solutions but I fall for the debate. Bad on me. Bad.

people I come from a country that has ONE massacre and then bam guns were banned.... the crime rate didn't move but gun related murders went down so much.

the idea that this happens and everyone thinks they will feel safer with more guns is a purely American power trip thing and it sickens me.
