Show

Set List

01. Go
02. Corduroy
03. Save You
("Thanks to Jay-Z for giving us wings. Giving all the bands here wings.")
04. Given To Fly
05. Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
(Ed says-"this song is about a man who had a job and did everything that was asked of him…and he and hundreds of other employees still lost their jobs. More people have jobs than a few years ago but too many are still unemployed. Remember when someone talks about creating jobs they might be creating jobs overseas. We would like to see more jobs created here in America")
06. Unemployable
07. Even Flow
08. Got Some
09. Daughter/Blitzkrieg Bop-(Ramones) (Ed says "Hey Ho, D'Angelo" at the end of the tag and laughs.)
(Ed says "This is the first show we have played were you can see a highway sign from the stage. I don't know what it says or where it's going but we are staying right here." He then says they are happy to be sharing the stage with the other bands and lists a few of them including Run-D.M.C., Skrillex and Jay-Z. He states "This song sounds best under an open sky. It's a shame you can't see the moon tonight. Maybe it will come out during this song.")
10. Unthought Known
11. The Fixer
12. Nothing Man
("This next one is about nature, it's about man, it's about art, it's about music, it's about everything because it's evolution baby")
13. Do The Evolution
14. Jeremy
("Thanks for using your voice and singing. Now we want to talk about rights…I want to talk about one of the political parties, I won't mention any names but there are only two. One of the parties wants to make it harder for you to vote. That means that they must think your vote counts if they are trying to keep you from voting. So go out and vote.")
15. Know Your Rights-(Jones, Strummer) {The Clash}
16. Rearviewmirror
Encore Break 1
(Ed introduces Boom as being "from the last state added to the United States. The Hawaiian Islands, Mr. Boom Gasper)
17. Love, Reign O'er Me-(Townshend)
18. Spin The Black Circle
(Ed tells the audience "we may not know all of you as well as we know some but we would appreciate if you do us a favor and help sing this one. Maybe the people we do know will help the ones that might not know the song)
19. Better Man/Save It For Later-(Charley, Cox, Morton, Steele, Wakeling)
20. Comatose
21. Black
22. Alive
(Ed thanks Jay-Z for putting the festival together and apologizes if he forgot to thank any other bands earlier including Drake, whom he refers to as a great singer. He also thanks Philadelphia who are always so good to Pearl Jam. They have created another great memory for the band. During the drum intro for W.M.A. he introduces the band.)
23. W.M.A/99 Problems-(Jay-Z) {With Jay-Z} (as a full version of W.M.A winds down Jay-Z comes out and performs "99 Problems" with Pearl Jam)
24. Rockin' In The Free World-(Young)

  • I am sitting in 30th st Station waiting for my amtrak.

The setlist was all hits but it was INCREDIBLE!!! They were so fucking good. The first 5 songs was some of the highest energy I've seen at a PJ show. Musically they sound much harder and crisp.

With the help of a bald man with a white shirt next to me, we started the "eh oh way eh oh way eh oh wayayayoh" during Daughter and it was awesome!!!

I was 10 rows away but there was a stupid curb in the middle so i moved back 10 rows and got a way better view.
It was the closest i have ever been for PJ.

WMA as a closer was weird but awesome. Then Jigga was even better.

    MIKE MCCREADY WAS ON FIRE!!!

Anyone see Ed spit during RITFW and almost hit Jeff?

Some did in the front but not many. The back had a lot of hiphop crowd that loved the show. There was a mash rush to the front once Drake got off.

It was insane to see how many people were walking out that were there for PJ. Im estimating 35-40k

Crowd was much better tonight compared to yesterday. No issues at all and everyone was singing. Not many people left after Drake by me. I was pretty close up.

crowd was good where i was standing (center about 15 yards back). we got in about 6:45 and toughed out a forced set from Drake. highlights for me were know your rights, and WMA-99 problems. walking in, then out, seemed like easily 40k+ there, would not be surprised if they post 50k tmrw.

boys were sharp, energetic, Mike was was en fuego most of the set (as usual). only issue is a bit too many hits, how bout some no code fellas. ;) See you in 2013 in Texas

Jay Z saved the day, this was one of the worst PJ shows I have ever been to, the setlist was too mainstream, and the hip hop crowd didn't even appreciate it and sing along. It was ranking right up there with the 2005 PNC park show, 2006 Cincy, and every Show they have ever played in Camden. But 99 problems was epic!

This was my first show in a long time (since PJ 20), normally that kicks it up a notch, but not tonight. I can only hope Deluna Fest is better.

were you expecting them to? how many do you think honestly showed up for pj? how many do you think listen to pj? look at some of the comments when the lineup was announced from ppl here regarding some of the acts besides pj.
  • Got there @ 8pm :D was about 20 rows back, a lot of the kids back there didn't know the words to all
of these hits :fp: I inched my way up to get with some real PJ fans. We knew they were going to play the hits to satisfy non PJ fans but WMA was a nice surprise. I thought they sounded awesome :D
Cannot wait for them to come back to Philly and hang with nothing but all PJ fans.

  • "W.M.A.", baby! To my knowledge, this is the first time since February 1995 in Sendai, Japan, that this was played with as-close-to-the-original drums as possible. It was my holy-grail song, and I got it tonight after 14 years just about to the day of going to shows!

    Whooo-hooo!

    PJ rawked it hard!

    How was RUN DMC?
RUN DMC was great! Brought me back to Jr. High & High School. Jam Master Jay's son wad on the turn tables, Jam Master J'SON. Did all the old school hits, tribute to JMJ. Good time.

I thought it was a great, greatest hits show.
Some of my favorite versions of the hits were tonight.
They rocked it and sounded awesome !

say what you want about it being a greatest hits show but the guys fucking brought it. it fucking rocked. Love that they cam out and just tore it up all the hard stuff. and Ed sounded great.

all in all have to say they did a great job with the festival. thought the setup was pretty sweet and never seemed too crowded. the sound was awesome for an outdoor show, even way back could hear almost perfectly. and the video screen in the middle was pretty sweet.

I enjoyed it. Not my favorite show. It was mentioned before that it was too "mainstream" which i understand, but knocked out a few other songs off my list like Save You, Unemployable, and Comatose. Picked up a poster and a few stickers. Also Met some great people at the pre-party at Public House :) Also we all knew Jay-Z was performing with PJ. Wasn't expecting 99 problems, but i think it worked out good.
