And I sooooo prefer circumcised penises....I LOVE circumcised ones....my partner is circumcised, my brothers, dad, friends....but I've been researching and I can't get passed the fact that there isn't ONE medical association worldwide that recommends the routine circumcision of baby boys....not ONE. Why? Because there aren't medical grounds for it. It's purely cosmetic in their eyes.

I watched a circumcision video recently and it was fucking scary! But my sister just had a baby boy a few weeks ago and when I went to see him for the first time in hospital, he'd been circumcised a few hours before. He was happily asleep in my arms....you wouldn't have known anything had been done to him.

So it can't be THAT bad....can it? :?

Really not looking forward to making this decision....because I know I'll be making it for a reason that is based just on my personal preference....not a medical reason....and I feel kinda guilty for that.

you may feel a little guilt at first, but trust me, you get over it (I have three boys, all snipped). You will do much worse things to them as they are growing up ;)

I have two boys, both snipped, and I agree. It won't be the worst thing you do to them between now and adulthood. Plus I have cousins who weren't snipped as infants and now wish they were. But now that they are older, they run the risk of getting an erection post surgery (which would stretch the newly cut skin and hurt worse). I say snip away.
It's nice to be nice to the nice.

A tourist is walking through some Jewish markets...he needs to buy a new wallet

"Hey thats a beautiful wallet...how much you want for the wallet?"

"Ahh, very special wallet...five hundred dollars"

"What!!! five hundred dollars...too much, too much"

"No no, very special wallet...five hundred dollars"

"Too much...why is it so special"

"Ahh, wallet made from 100 jewish foreskins...and when you rub it...it turn into suitcase!!!"

I think there has been a massive cultural shift in Aus in relation to circumcision. When I went to school it was very rare for a kid to NOT be cut...I remember kids getting teased about it...

I had my first son in 1993, and it wasnt even an option to get it done...I mean you could if you were really determined and willing to seek out a place that did it...but it wasnt that important to us.
Have had four boys grow up with them and no health issues at all...just the same as teaching a kid to wash their armpits properly. My kids have never seen a kid who has been circumcised.

No idea when it changed but I was really shocked recently when my ex girlfriend, who is about 8 years younger than me (I am fortyish)...told me she has never been with a guy who was circumcised. I did really learn something reading pjsouls post...if ya got one, ya gotta keep it clean...I mean if you find someone willing to take a sample...you dont want to leave a sour taste!

Exactly, there are no medical grounds for it. It is mutilation of a child's gentiles simply for aesthetic reasons then. How can anyone justify that? Would you do it to your daughter? If not, then why do it to your son?

female circumcision and male circumcision are GREATLY different.

if you want to compare the two, then cut off the entire glans of the penis, and the scrotum with testicles...THEN you can compare the two.

Well if you read my post, you would know that if I had a son, getting him circumcised would NOT just be for aesthetic reasons, so.... And also that I think comparing girls to boys in this scenario is totally meaningless.

Rubbish, they are both mutilation. If you can defend one and not the other then your excuses are no better than those who carry out female circumcisions.

    Rubbish. :D
If you think that, then you have no idea what female circumcision is about and what it does to girls.

I don't see how you figure removing the foreskin is comparable to causing sex to be painful and unpleasant for a girl for the rest of her life solely for the purpose of ensuring that only one man gets to fuck her while providing zero enjoyment on her part (on the contrary - causing pain). Sometimes basically cut the entire vagina right off and then sew her shut except for a pee hole. Many girls die of the infection it causes. You think that's the same as a doctor in a hospital removing a foreskin, which doesn't detract from sexual enjoyment at all, and is done for the purpose of hygiene and aesthetics, and has a very miniscule rate of complication? Wtf? That's doesn't make sense.

You don't even know what a vagina is? How could they cut the entire vagina off? You don't even know your own anatomy!
i restarted this thread actually with a link to an article that said circumcision was being outlawed in German for religious reasons. The article had a story about a baby boy that kept bleeding after after the surgery. It is not a simple procedure of just cut it off and everything is fine.
Boys also die due to infection after the operation. I have already posted a link to articles earlier about this but you probably would just ignore them anyway.
The foreskin is still attached to the glads when they circumcise a baby. They have to rip it away from the glands. You act it like it is a some sort of ready detachable body part.
There is know good medically reason to have it done to a healthy child and aesthetics is hardly a good reason to mutilate a child's sexual organs now is it?

I didn't read through this whole thread, but I gotta couple thoughts to throw out there, maybe been said already

I have found sex to be better uncut, more skin moving around, less chafing

I believe it can be really good for a boy to "be like his dad" either way

I would rather leave a boy(I did with mine)natural as God,or the aliens or whatever, made him and if he wants to change himself later, then I didn't make a decision for his body that he can't ever get back
You can get rid of a foreskin, but you can't regrow em
I will walk w/my hands bound
I will walk w/my face blood
I will walk w/my shadow flag

Memories back when she was smooth and strong
and waiting for the world to come along...

Dude ... Yeah, I know the facts. I meant they sometimes remove everything and leave a hole. Whatever. No need to be rude. Yes, there are occasional complications, hence my phrase "miniscule rate of complications". I get it. You don't like it. So great, don't do it to your kids. That's cool that you have an opinion. My argument to you is that it is not comparable to female genital mutilation.

Nope. Not just for looks, as my thread made clear. I find it a decision namely based in hygiene (obviously I wouldn't be overly concerned about the attractiveness to me of my own son's penis! But his hygiene, yes. And if I am concerned about what someone's penis looks like, he had the surgery at least 35 or so years ago, so that's a moot issue). Anyway, I'm not engaging in a debate with you about it, since I already made my feelings and the reasons for them really clear (probably too clear!). It would be my personal choice to have a son circumcised in a hospital with a very qualified doctor (after taking the father's feelings into account as well of course). Obviously it wouldn't be your choice because you think it's too risky. It is an individual decision, so I just think people should butt out of other people's choice on this one (as opposed to female genital mutilation, which I think is a whole different issue).
