I, frankly, don’t understand the portal sometimes…the QB at my alma mater, Kurtis Rourke, Ohio U, is leaving for Indiana. 3 year starter, 50 TD, 16 int, 10 wins the past two seasons…and he’s going to a perennial bottom feeder. Can’t be exposure; NFL scouts will find you anywhere….and he’s giving up tuesday and wednesday night MACtion!
NIL money would be my guess.

    I suppose...

I've been to Bloomington...not that much different than Athens, OH...I could see Indiana boosters giving NIL to basketball players but I didn't think anyone gave a crap about the FB team, but what do I know?

no, Athens and area is cooler....
    goes without saying.

very proud of my Bobcats, today. Check the pic…and they still scored 42. Freshman RB with 18 yards all season, scored 5 TD.

    have fun at Indiana, Kurtis.

  • Indiana did just pick up Curt Cignetti from JMU, way too early to say there's something building there on the football team, but maybe?

My son goes to JMU. They are getting raided in the coaching staff and the portal.

I have a decent amount of ties to the Dukes.  I was surprised Cignetti left JMU (up-and-coming at the top level, history of success, community/state support, etc.) for Indiana, but I guess Big Ten paydays are worthwhile.

ex-buckeye QB mccord says he’s looking forward to going to syracuse and playing with “some good players.”

syracuse is currently down 0-31 at half to 6-6 south florida.

I still disagree with their decision, but can understand why others might use them getting destroyed by Georgia as validation for the CFP decision making.

    Glorified Exhibiton games.

Too many players not playing to get ready for the NFL Draft(I don't blame them).

Too many days off between games.

Players in The Portal or already transfered.

I wouldn't get too worked up over these games. A lot of the teams are not the same.

even before yesterday’s pummeling, I thought GA was the best team in the country. things just worked out weird. shoulda put GA in, over bama, but I can see the “problem” with that.

luckily, my wyoming cowboys were in a nail biter over on the CW Network in the same time window.

Not sure why they schedule the national semifinal to start so late on new years day?  Seems like their ratings would suffer.  I didn't watch second half, looks like it was wild.

Penix throws a beautiful deep ball, if it wasnt for his injury history and being a lil older Id have him #1 overall.....cant see him slipping past mid 1st round

    OK games I watched.

FSU did not deserve to be in the conversation of top 4.  Earlier this year I mentioned them being "back".  They did go 13-0 but a weak schedule.  Think of CFU a few years a go.

Bama Mich was a goooood game.  Glad to see Harbaugh get there and not have to face OSU, lol.

Tex Washington was another goood game. Quite a few dropped passes during that game. Was hoping for Texas to pull it off but couldn't.

It was a fun weekend for college football.

All the games were great! Kind of rooting for Washington now I think.

As for FSU, they had a shocking number of opt outs for the Orange Bowl. I don’t think they would have beat Georgia, but their defense had to be better than that. Sucks the full team did not play. That was not the issue with Georgia, they all played, until the second half and the backups came in (and still looked good).

As for Alabama and Michigan, both teams did not look top notch on offense (defense was another story, particularly Michigan). Early on I thought Michigan was trying to hand the game to Alabama with the interception and special teams fumble. Then, their quarterback seemed to be making passes that no one wanted to catch. That second half was brutal for their offense until the very last drive.

Alabama’s offensive line could not seem to handle Michigan’s defense. Milroe was sacked 5 times? Otherwise, he looked good, but on three different occasions, made very strange play decisions. He looked almost hesitant in deciding what to do, awkwardly sliding instead of pushing for the first down in the first half. And that final run in overtime. I know it was a low snap, but he should’ve scrambled outside for a run around the corner.

Oh well, I do not like Alabama. My mom is a life time Auburn fan and I root for Georgia. It’s hard to pull for Alabama ever! Not sure I like Michigan either (Harbaugh), but happy for those players to win.

I’ll root for Washington next Monday. They looked really good last night for the most part.

FSU had 29 Scholarship players opt out
Both Stud WRS, TE, Stud RB, Backup RB, Offensive line, Lost Star QB 2 Games left in season, Backup QB hit Transfer Portal before this game ( Basically whole offense)

3/4 Defensive line .....Yada yada.......bunch of 1st rd picks

Give Georgia credit for wanting to play, but that wasnt football

It was a problem in many of the bowl games and a major issue in the Orange Bowl. Between the transfer portal and opt outs for NFL bound players, the product for many of these bowls was severely affected. Perhaps the 12-team playoff will help with this next year, but the NCAA has to do something about it.

I think sooner rather than later, the people who organize and sponsor the bowl games are going to put pressure on the NCAA to stop this. They are getting games without marquee players and multiple second and third stringers playing. This will affect their ability to draw fans, and by extension fan's money to their bowls.
