what crimes against humanity have i commited?
i smoke marijuana.
it is illegal.
that is my crime.
i suggest you put a bullet behind my right ear because i smoke pot.
here i am right here
> mr. dopey, look at me go
It doesn't matter what crimes you have committed or not committed; it only matters whether someone thinks you're evil, right? I mean you think you should be able to put people to death without regard for the law even if I & others don't think they're evil. So why shouldn't I be able to put someone to death without regard for the law even if you and others don't agree?
you are one of the most unbelievable people i have ever traded messages with in my entire life.
My dad was a field investigator for the Office of the Medical Investigator and I went with him to murder scenes and helped with autopsies of people who had been brutally murdered, still fresh. And my ex-boyfriend and several of my friends were brutally murdered (the boyfriend more brutally than the friends). And when my dad received his body they were only able to identify it with my help. So there's that.
that sounds like some experience to me.
well done @ helping out your dad.
i am sorry your x boyfriend & friends were brutally murdered.
Why is this an unbelievable statement? How many times through the course of history have people killed others do to biases, color, race, religion, beliefs or similar?
Can't say or believe this quote enough.
Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis

Hmm... also the need to believe that you have exclusive, superior knowledge and experience and we are all just sheltered, ignorant, and naive... interesting.
i do have 30 some years of experience.
dad was a prison guard for 30 odd years up until the day he died.
my entire life up until then was hearing prison stories about the evils of mankind.
what is your experience in this field?

Oh yeah, and my cousin's a prison guard and my dad used to work at a prison and one of my good friends was nearly killed in prison when a clerical error got him put in with the most violent offenders who then started a riot on his cell block.

what is a fact is that the death penalty will always exist as long as maniacs exist.
this is a fact.
argue it all you want.
at some point, some state, somewhere, will have a hot seat for evil to fry in or take a needle up the vein.

This is a dead end question... define "maniac" please. Most industrialized, modern nations in the world do not have the death penalty and have lower crime/murder rates...

see heres the thing... and this is about saddam hussein. the united states of america were happy to support this genocidal maniac while they thought he was in their pocket. but when he overstepped the boundaries he became the enemy. absolutely what he subjected the iraqi people to was heinous. but when they hung him, it sickened me and i wept for ALL humanity.
i will never understand mankind's desire for vengeance. and nothing, not even the murder of one of my children will get me to support the vengeance murder of another human.

I have been ignoring this thread and was surprised so many continued on in it but here is my last tid bit.
I knew once they caught him they would kill him by letting the Iraq Government hand down the sentence. They didn't want the world to blame the USA for one and it seemed for once they were making an civilized decision to let the government make it's own choices. We all know better. That man was fucking evil to the core but even I was saddened to see him hang. It just added one more notch against humanity and all of us. It reflected upon the world and many nations and politicians roared a huge outcry at this outcome.
He knew they were going to kill him and that's why he didn't comply with any authorities and spat in there faces the whole way. It just goes to show though that one less evil person has yet to make it a better place. More people are dying in that country still and many innocent as well as US and coalition soldiers, journalists etc. No good came from his death. Much good came from his overthrown regime but only briefly.
I do understand why they did it though. It's a hard situation to condemn or accept.

if you take someone's stuff you get punished with a few years, you assault someone you get punished, but the only punishment that fits taking a life, is in deed getting yours taken from you. I would say it isn't hypocrisy at all, but more so a statement on how much another person's life is worth.
that’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb
- Joe Rogan
No because you're not teaching anyone the value of life, but simply reinforcing if you take one, you may lose your own. That's not the same lesson at all. And the people who typically commit crimes deemed worthy of such punishment don't value their own life - so no lesson or societal moral code is set. It sets forth the notion of not caring about the punishment, which also cheapens life as a whole, not properly reinforcing the idea that life is good, so don't take it away. It merely amounts to a punishment system based upon vengeance and convenience.

who are you guy's trying to convince ? in a state if a majority votes for it then it is what it is right ?
and once that bullet is fired or the switch is thrown or the plunger pushed to the bottom it is what it is because the larger majority wanted it that way,if you want it changed then vote in that direction.
there now wasn't that ez........bad horse !
Just because something is agreed upon by a majority or is popular/populist in nature, doesn't make it good and ok. It's no different from saying Brittney Spears is the greatest musician/singer ever because she sold more records than person x.

this is a state issue and every state has a provision for or against it in their state constitution. it is not like you can change it with a single vote. this sort of thing is done with legislation, or decree by the state governor, not voting.

Yes. And I cried when they murdered Saddam Hussein.
I don't actually think that's true.
