either that, or that guy has an icnredible camera lens... :?

i thought the video was of them loading the boat. unless i missed something.

another hole in the writing: cole goes missing...yet the door in his hotel room is smashed down. this is the door that leads directly into dexter's room. nah, that's not gonna lead back to dexter at all.

i am growing to hate lumen as each episode goes by. why on earth would she go to that hotel. i guess dexter told her too because he needed her to deliver the plastic and stuff. but why risk being in the same place as jordan chase and cole?

I guess she is just desperate to bring closure to this that she would put herself in danger if it meant they would be killed.

Oh, and good call on the door thing. I never thought of that. Big oversight on the writers part.

yeah i guess i don't really hate her so much as i hate that dex is bringing her into his life so much. he's making sooooo many mistakes...

Wow, what a damn good episode!!

Truly the perfect foundation for the next 3-episode climax.

    Deb is getting suspicious.
PI guy is getting really involved good or not.
Quinn is in the middle of it all.
Evidence pointing ways other than Boyd Fowler.

How motivation guy will get involved is another story altogether. I mean, even if he suspects Dexter to being onto him, why would he have anything on him to call Deb?

Anyways, there were times where I was a little "off", but these last two episodes have really sucked me in! Good stuff!

Ok this past weeks episode was the best of the season. Dexter showing his dark side was fantastic. The Boyd Fowler case stuff. Should be a interesting season.

I really wonder how this whole Quinn-Liddy thing is going to turn out.
It seems from the next episode that Liddy gets some pretty incriminating videos of Lumen (can't remember if Dexter was in it or not). It also seems clear that Liddy has every intention to build a case and take it to Laquerta. How Quinn, Deb, and Dexter fit in is going to be interesting.
My guess is that by the end of the season Deb finds out about Dexter. What I'm not sure about is how Quinn is going to be involved. Clearly he loves Deb, and I wonder how far he will go to protect her (and actually protect Dexter through her).

    Hmmmm...

    Good stuff!

dex is gonna finally become "human" by the end of the season....right when he gets caught. the irony.

he's gotta get caught right? he can't get out of this gigantic jams every season right?

i agree with the above poster about lumen. i was really starting to hate her last week. now she's growing on me a bit....cannot wait to see how they end this.

If not caught, at the very least I think some people will find out about him (Deb).

I heard there is a good chance for a 6th season. Can't imagine it would be of Dexter behind bars or on death row.

    Well, it's all coming together.
It'll be interesting to see how much Quinn actually finds out about Dexter prior to Dexter potentially going after Quinn.

At this point it seems Liddy has more than enough dirt on Dexter and Lumen to expose him for what he is.
Also, I'm curious as how the Jordan Chase thing is going to pan out. I mean, all of his companions have been killed, he knows he's next, and he has to defend himself from the investigation. While he tried to get Dexter and Lumen caught last night, despite it not completely working...that guy's disappearance should be more than enough to spark suspicion in Deb and Quinn. They already talked about the fact that all of these guys have disappeared without leaving anything behind to show they left on their own will.
The next two episodes are gonna be intense!

the house dex and lumen killed that guy in was supposedly vacant right? it looks like their kill room was in the living room (the plastic sheets covered two pretty big windows) you can see a light on in the window behind deb and quinn. i was certain they were gonna turn around and think something was up...but they didnt.

cant wait to see how this pans out

Something tells me Lumen will take the fall for Dexter in the last episode. She killed that guy Alex last night and might possibly be the one who kills Jordan Chase (assuming he dies at all). I can see Liddy's evidence of Lumen and Dexter's expoits "dissapearing" one way or another. When it all comes together, Lumen will take the fall for Dexter in return for him taking her under his wing and letting her exact her revenge on her tormentors.

I may be way off on this but I can't see Dexter getting caught just yet. If the dept finds out, the show would be over.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I assume Deb will find out. Now that she's had the revelation that vigilante justice might be acceptable, she'll be more willing to cover for him.

If he did get caught, though, I doubt he would be in custody next season. They'd probably turn the show into The Fugitive, and have him on the run, maybe working to pin it all on someone else.
  • Also, as a current student of anatomy & physiology, the name "Lumen" just seems bizarre. It's the technical term for the inner cavity of ducts and vessels and whatnot...

Yep, I thought of that too as I did the thylakoid lumen in chloroplasts. :D :geek:

Anyways, you gotta watch season 4. It's easily the best of all 5 seasons.

Nice. I'm coming up on my cardiovascular/lymphatic systems final, and I'm sure I'll see lumen somewhere. I'll probably bust out laughing when I think of him giving her her very first pair of killin' gloves. It was all very romantic.

I've heard that about season 4. But I don't have cable and I never got around to renting/buying it, and then someone recently invited me to a weekly Dexter party. I've got some catching up to do.

I liked season 4, but it wasn't until the finale that I was really sold. I'm absolutely beside myself with how good this season has been. We'll see how it wraps up, but this could be my favorite since the first season.

Well, lets just say there are sites that stream things other than porn...

Anyways, that's how I got started on Dexter. I never had Showtime, got hooked on Dexter (via the web) and I've been a Showtime subscriber since. haha!

An aside, are you an undergrad or a grad student and where do you go?

I've heard tell of such sites. I don't think my laptop would know what to do if I asked it to stream something... else... ;) Hell, truth is, I'm a stubborn technophobe. As little as I can use this thing, the better.

I'm actually just getting my prereq's out of the way for a nursing program at Portland Community College in Oregon. I'll probably stick with that for the 2-year ASN. Then OHSU (Oregon Health and Science University) has a program where you can slide right in from PCC, take one more year and get a BSN (in a total of 3 years instead of 4). It's a pretty sweet deal, and OHSU is badass school.

    How about you?

Good for you! Nurses are always in huge demand!!
OHSU (and hospital) is a damn good institution. I've worked with them a little in the past and I'm always impressed.
I work in cancer research for a pharmaceutical company. We hired some of their lead oncologists to conduct an ovarian cancer trial there a while back. This drug has incredible potential and has thus far benefited a number of ovarian ca patients. While I don't oversee the trial there, I have a colleague that does and she too is impressed.

I thought this week's episode was much better! Very little pointless LaGuerta/Bautista banter, no Aster, the suspense of Dexter almost getting caught, Robocop recording Dexter and Lumen practicing for their mission..

Also, I missed part of it but it sounded like Jordan didn't call the police about Cole so that explains hotel door "plot hole" from a few episodes ago. Jordan could have just paid the hotel for the damage and not called the police.

True. Jordan is probably familiar with Cole's raping tendencies and just brushed it off as him giving in to his urges.

  • So now we have video from Robocop of Dexter and Lumen with kill tools. Pictures of those two again by Robocop loading the boat with garbage bags at 3 in the morning. Deb and Quinn have discovered a female foot print outside of the latest victims house. They know there is probably a 13th victim that got a way. A love thing between Lumen and Dexter (Oh brother). And this women whom we thought was a victim of the group but seems to not be the victim and either in on it, or controlled by Jordon as well.

And now 2 episodes to go.

What's-her-face seems to be a textbook victim. I'm guessing it all went down exactly like she said and now she's just all sorts of messed up and devoted to Jordan. Pretty sick situation.

And, yeah, I came in to this season pretty late so I'm not even fully up on all loose ends, but the people I'm watching with keep saying "HOW are they going to finish all of this in only two more episodes??" It's a testament to how good the show is that I've been dragged back in so quickly.
