I think he's like a lot of people, they read and hear about all the corruption in the city government and all the crime that takes, but for me I've never had a problem, and I could be mistaken but most of the crime probably takes place in the places I would have no business being in.

It's just to bad the border has become the way it is, just a pain to cross and almost $10 round trip, which adds up when you consider both Windsor and Detroit economies are struggling.

Could not agree with you more.
I really wish Detroit would embrace our Canadian visitors more. I think we could help each others' economies a lot more if things were a little more relaxed. But then again, it is a national border, and security is so important.

Either way- there are plans to put in another bridge (don't know if it will actually happen) but that might help.

Ovechkin has only got two periods to do it now!!! Chara is out, so there is room for him out there, but he has been a non factor thus far.

I went with my dad tons of times as a kid with my Dad, but never had any troubles, ate at local restaurants, people from Detroit could tell you more. My to biggest moments their was seeing Mark Mcguire hit his first homerun there, and seeing Mark Fidrych pitch in rookie season.

Our end was just finalized on Friday, with construction set to go full tilt in 2011, so a new bridge will either be built or we'll have a 2 billion dollar highway to nowhere .

It's just to bad that for frequent crossers they couldn't come up with a system that expedites the crossing into each country, other than the nexus card (that can only be used at certain borders).

Well.. It was more in the residential area than the downtown area (not by much) and yes it was kinda rough.. My friends father was stabbed and killed leaving a game during the 84 season (playoff game i believe) but that is one bad incident. The majority, including my family, never had a problem down there and got to see a lot of ball games.. But i love the new stadium. And it is an important part of trying to get people to come to the downtown area again. That and the casinos!! and the lions moved back down there.. and of course our beloved Wings.. And it is working!! My older aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. find themselves downtown all of the time now and 15 years ago they never would be

Well the Islanders have been giving up a bunch of goals lately,:lol:. I suspect Sid will get lots of ice time so he can get his 50th.

the Buffalo/Niagara Falls to Canada crossing isnt too bad. You have a choice of 4 bridges I think and there is a hotline you could call and they give you the wait times ahead of time. There have also been plans to build a second one directly from Buffalo to Fort Erie, ON.
Im a big fan of visiting Canada.

Anyways, Sabres and Devils play for #2 in the East. Lalime in net for Buffalo. If Buffalo loses or the game goes into OT (even if they win in OT/SO).... Buffalo finishes 3rd and will play Boston.

If Buffalo wins and Philly wins, it will be Buffalo/Philly in round 1.

If Buffalo wins and the Rangers win, it will be Buffalo/Montreal in Round 1.

I cant believe there are so many possibilities with a few hours left in the season.

It's strange. Tiger Stadium was in the Corktown Area- a predominately Irish area. And it could get pretty rough. But now that the stadium is gone, the "undesirable" element (panhandlers, drug pushers etc) have left the area.
Now, Corktown is a really neat neighborhood.
Lots of Irish bars, all cobblestone streets and, in my opinion, one of the best bbq places in the state- Slow's

D'oh! If they play Buffalo first round, i'm not sure. But if it's Jersey, there won't be any golf for a while. I wish though it was those Montreal bums in the first round. Those Rehabs can start filling up those golf karts right now.

The B's have picked it up a bit here at the end, even with all the injuries. A Philly win today gives the Habs the Caps in the 1st round and a quick trip to the 1st tee box.

Crosby 5 points through 2 periods, 2 goals now has 51 and tied Ovie for 2nd in scoring.

Crosby Rules!!! 5 Point Final Game, Joins the 50 Goal Club and Ties for the Richard Trohpy. Ovie comes up short. Even more amazing is Stamkos netting 50 at such a young age, he's gonna have a hell of a time living up to that for next season. Him and St. Louis need to stay together for sure.

Detroit starts on the road in Phoenix.. Its only 1993 miles away.. Why are we in the western conference?? I believe Detroit must log the most travel miles throughout a season..

That makes no sense. I'm an advocate for an original 6 division, now that would be rivalry hockey.
