I find the Steve Hoffman discussions more helpful than discogs. But I do look at the review rating on the site. I hope they are evaluating the media quality not the music but I'm sure it's both.

I do too, I rarely look at comments on Discogs. I am usually just apprehensive when I see United has pressed something, kinda like Rainbo pressings. There are some good ones, but like what @reesdog said, people let you know when there are bad ones.

happy to finally get to listen to this on wax.

Same here...the black vinyl sounds fantastic!
Coloured version sounds pretty good as well.
mastered a bit lower in volume but can def tell it came from analogue source and isn't brickwalled to shit.
I might order the black version too. just because some prick on discogs said it sounded better. Yes....I have a problem.

Talking about Blue Train here? If so, I can't imagine the black would sound any better. I have several albums where I have both and I don't hear any difference. For example, both of my Mad Season/Benny albums sound like ass.

Surprisingly, Zooropa has never been repressed. It was included as a remastered CD in the Auchtung box, but the LP was ignored. Weird.

Really? There is a Zooropa CD in the Achtung Baby anniversary blue vinyl boxset? Or are you talking about some other box set?
I don't think in the box you were referring to earlier in the thread (I have that one too), there's a much larger box set:

    https://www.discogs.com/U2-Achtung-Baby-Über-Deluxe-Edition/release/3201818

    that has it.

 just because I am a vinyl dork like that... I researched some of his other posts. He seemed like a discogs troll.
His whole thing is that all coloured vinyl sounds inferior.... reading some of the other BS he posted made me feel better and then after listening to the album last night..... sounds great. I also see where that version is now sold out at Analog Spark.

I was thinking older obscure things - anyone know how many LPs fit into a media mailer?

The standard mailer has an adjustable side. Usually 2 fit in it's thinnest fold. It can fit about 4-5 on its thickest fold. It really depends on the if the sleeves are singles or gatefold.

It could also be, vs a give away, a borrowing group. You send someone a few albums that they can listen to for a month or so and send them back. Kind of like try it before you buy sort of thing.

And I did order volume 2 last night using a 15% coupon on soundstage (NE15). Definitely looking forward to it as I like the albums on #2 better than #1 overall. Petty got better with age. I feel like he really took off in Full Moon Fever and never looked back.

When I cull my collection, I like to send friends records that aren't worth the time reselling (not crap records, just ones that I'd only get a couple of bucks selling to a store on the bay)
