Any opinion on the Queen Is Dead rerelease? I've been eyeing it on ebay. Wondering if I should get it or seek out an original press.

I've had bad luck with so many rereleases that I've given up on them completely. I have the original rough trade Queen is Dead - and it sounds superb. Personally I would seek out a nice copy of that - it won't cost you too much at all

Matt Epp & The Amorian Assembly - At Dawn. I was walking with my youngest daughter down the street, and a buddy of mine happens to be the bassist of his band. He lives just down the street from me. He just got home from their Canadian tour. He said "did I give you a cd?". I said "nope". He said "cd or lp?". I said "lp! how much?". He said "nothing!". Gave it to me for free! And even after I told him my regretful story of not being able to see their gig in Winnipeg. What a good guy.

Spinning it right now. And it's awesome!

Been playing around with my Doors records today - Bought Greatest Hits from 1980 yesterday, but wasn't happy with the sound - too light and thin - so dug out the 1967 original mono of the debut that my friend's dad gave me a while back - cleaned it up and ...... immense! Tremendous valvey sound coming off it - the mono mix is more dynamic and has quite a few extra vocals in there. They just re-released this mono mix on vinyl for record store day. My original was hitting the spot though!

Currently listening to one of the few 180gm reissues which I think can compete with my early pressings - Love, Forever Changes - think this is a late 90s reissue - before they started the shameful practice of mastering 180gms from digital masters - it's a lot more common than you might thinkQ I have had to take about six 180gm reissues back to the shop, they were so horrible. I won't buy one now, unless I am absolutely certain that it is from an analog source. In the meantime there's plenty of 1960s thick early pressings to be snapped up, usually at a cheaper price anyway.

    :D

I picked up Fleet Foxes S/T last night at Best Buy and didn't pay a dime for it thanks to rewards certificates :-) Best free vinyl I've ever gotten.

Just received this cork slip mat in the mail..I've been having static problems and figured I would give it a try..I'm really surprised at the difference it has made with the static and all around sound off the records.
