It looked like Feliz was too stunned to even make a diving tag and Lidge did a bad job of not racing over to third base. Lidge also should have tried to get Teixeira with more off-speed stuff. That's how pitchers have been pitching him most of the postseason. An overlooked out is in the seventh is right after Utley homers when Damaso Marte retired Howard. Yankees fans knocked Marte and even questioned why they needed a second lefty. In the postseason, Marte has retired all 10 straight hitters since allowing singles to Joe Mauer and Jason Kubel in the Division Series.

Looks like in regards to that championship ,
you Phillies guys are renting,
while us Yankees are owners .
27 here we come .
PS I was at PJ concert but it sounds as if they have a problem with that camera hanging out into the playing field area >?
Its FAR from over..I wouldnt start sucking each others dicks just yet
Maybe in Philly thats part of your celebration along with the rioting and setting fires ,
but here in NY we are so seasoned, we'll just wait for our tickertape parade.
And dont worry , Spring Training comes really fast .
Again, the renters are handing over the trophy to the owners .
And dont everybody in Philly get all happy if you win tonight,
we want to bring it back to NY so they can win in our house .

Congrats to New York. It's not over yet, but it's dim here. I'm not going to talk shit and then hide away. So for now, I commend you guys on taking advantage of our mistakes. That's what winners do. Congrats. Hopefully this will be a little bit more of a fight before it's all said and done.

see ? this clearly shows that if not all , then a minor segment , of the fans in Philly not only dont know how to lose with class,

I'm sure this will get lost in the trophy talk but here are the postgame notes from Game 5:
- Chase Utley is the 18th player to homer at least three times in the World Series and the second Phillie along with Ryan Howard. Each home run has been off Sabathia and he is the second player to hit three off the same pitcher. The other was Yogi Berra who homered three times off Don Newcombe in 1956.
- CC Sabathia has pitched 36 1/3 innings this postseason and broke the Yankee playoff record of 34 1/3 set by Andy Pettitte in 2003.
- Johnny Damon became the 13th player to steal two bases in an inning in the World Series. The previous instance was BJ Upton in the eighth inning of Game Three.
-Alex Rodriguez's 15 RBI tied Bernie Williams (1996) and Scott Brosius (1998) for most in postseason Yankee history.
-The Yankees have been plunked five times, one shy of the World Series record shared by the 1909 Pirates and 2001 Diamondbacks.
-Brad Lidge had thrown 12 1/3 scoreless innings over his previous 13 playoff appearances. He is 0-3 in six career World Series appearances and the three losses tie a World Series record with George Frazier and Eddie Watt.

Inquirer Sorry For Bogus Phillies Ad
The Philadelphia Inquirer has apologized to readers for printing a Macy’s ad celebrating the Philadelphia Phillies victory over the Yankees in the World Series.
MyFoxPhilly.com was the first to report on the bogus Macy’s ad that appeared in today’s Inquirer. The newspaper later issued a statement, which deeply apologized for the error.
