i just booked myself.. 70 bucks/night. let's get some more people in there and take the place over!
Was $70 your first bid?
i started with 60 (yesterday) and it was rejected. i added in another zone - one that did not have any 3* hotels - and tried 65, which was rejected also. then i just bid 70 and got it.
comes to $170 total for two nights. add in the $30/night parking (ouch) and it's $230 for two nights at what looks like a nice place in a good area.
doesn't seem like a bad deal.
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam
$30 may be worth it, or it may be not depending on where you're at - just because the PPA are the biggest douchebags known to man and you could end up spending more than that in tickets.

At least you are doing ti right There are a lot of people who don't' really understand how Priceline works. But you seem to have a godo grasp on it, especially with adding the zones for a free re-bid
I am going to hold off on bidding on Philly for a while yet, but it is good to know what is out there

I need to wind up the proverbial goose that shits dollars to pay off some of these shows from my credit card before I can think about getting a hotel. Thanks for the heads up on the Radisson. I will check it in a couple weeks.

For what it's worth, I just booked for Fri. nite at Club Quarters smack in Center City for $112. A little more $$, but seems a real nice place, in a great location, right near the Orange line. So all things considered, I think a great deal!

Been there. It's not bad. Very small, even cramped rooms because it is a very old hotel, but it is kept up really nice and is in a good location.
Just don't trip over any crackheads on your way out the door.
I think the consensus is that the Holiday Inn near the venue is not a very good place to stay except that it is within walking distance and the only thing around there and Eric (Evil Closet Monkey) is working on a group rate.
Near the airport are Hiltons and Mariotts, Sheratons, etc. so I assume they are OK. Never stayed there.

The airport area is like a ten minute drive max from the venue. Airport is like exit 13 on 95 and the venue is like exit 18. And once you get off of 95, you are literally right next to the parking lot to the venue.
working on a group rate at the Holiday Inn (STADIUM).... if you don't care about the tourist thing, parking is free, plus you can walk to shows.....

Yeah, just walk a couple blocks to the Broad Street line of the Subway to take you to Center City and City Hall. From there you could either walk ten blocks to "Olde City" or transfer to the Market Street line to get to Independence Hall, Constitution Center, Liberty Bell, etc.
thanks soalt13 and Jearlpam0925.
i'm in, i think, for the group rate then as long as i can still get to the toursity place
will double check with my +1 and let ya know for certain ECM.

Any idea what the price including the group rate would be? I was planning on going the Priceline route, but I have no plans set in stone yet.
around $100 range.. but factor you wouldn't pay for hotel or stadium parking.... more info soon
if you lock in a group rate at that price....count me in for a room. Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this

Not making the rookie mistake of booking everything now only to have the show not happen or be on a different day. Been there and done that.
