    2008-West Palm Beach

For those staying at the Stadium Holiday Inn note that the Eagles play a home game on Sunday (against the Giants no less) so that area will be a mess sunday. The game is at 4:00 but I'd say by Noon you will be looking at a large number of people around that area. If you are leaving that day keep in mind that stadium area will be packed by sunday afternoon. I think the Holiday Inn uses their parking lot for Eagles parking as well. Just keep that in mind.
  • just got the center city Embassy Suites for 70 a night staying monday through wednesday.... now i need 2 tickets to each of the first 2 shows
  • I booked the 10c deal at the omni, now i need to figure out how the hell to get tickets for the last 2 nights
"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.

I was thinking about that, much appreciated info, thanks! And I was actually tossing around the idea of trying to score tix to the game, but that would mean taking Monday off too, & causing a tailgating ruckus over my beloved PATS gear  (that's our bye week, perrrfect timing)!

i would highly recommend not wearing Pats gear or any gear that is not the Eagles. Besides "Tom Brady sucks balls" per Entourage. and if you are as cute as your avatar suggests I would tone it down on sunday - just a warning as many Eagles fans are pretty much cavemen down at the games especially with the Giants in town. If you are not used to NFC East football and tailgating be prepared I guess is all I'm saying.

not to get off topic but if you are going to use tired and outdated cliche's about Philly fans at least get them right. We threw snowballs at Santa Claus (yes over 40 years ago - time to give this one a rest) and we cheered when Michael Irvin was on the turf hurt (not saying he deserved that but he was/is a scumbag so...)

and the santa claus that got snowballs thrown at him was some drunken guy they pulled out of the stands because the original santa claus couldn't be there. The imposter was about 120 pounds and drunk out of his mind. So they threw snowballs at him. It's not that big of a deal.

Just don't wear opponents jerseys and act like an idiot and you will be fine. if you go looking for trouble, it will find you very easily...especially in the parking lots while people are tailgating.

and I feel bad for those staying at the stadium holiday inn or near the airport...bad choice

you know those sterotypes of Philly are really overblown. I figure we'll just change everyone's minds when they come here in October and see how nice, hospitable and friendly we can be. And wait till they see how we in Philly respond to PJ. We are definitely one of their best crowds for shows.

They'll change their tune real quick. You'll see. :D
  • Just got Embassy Suites City Center for $65USD plus the taxes on priceline. Staying Oct 30 to Nov 1. Should be a good party now that im there. 8-)

no it's cool - i just needed some reassurance that I wasn't going crazy (or crazier). shirt looks cool - at least it isn't a Pats or Tom Brady shirt.

  • Embassy Suites rule - they have a FULL free breakfast every morning and a free happy hour in the evening.

At least they did every other time I stayed there, but that was before the economy tanked.
  • Glad my hotel is booked! Thank you 10 Club for the cheap Backspacer rate! :)
Maybe I missed something (its early and I havent had enough coffee)...........

    But.....

I can get the Embassy Suites on priceline for $80 a night.....right???

    The 10club deal is $159 a night......right????

    Or am I missing something????
    Take me piece by piece.....

i am going to guess that the 'cheap backspacer rate' that the poster is referring to was actually for the radisson deal @ $75 a night.

man, i should've waited. i keep making bad decisions for this philly trip. already booked the club quarters @ $95 a night. was worried i'd get shut out of a nice hotel, had tried priceline for a week or so, finally went up to $95. eh well, what's done is done. at least i am set.
    Stay with me...

The backspacer rate is a deal (like $30.00 cheaper than normal) but the priceline name your price is a gamble that allows you to crush going rates on certain hotels. There is no way to guarentee which hotel you get but if you pick 3 stars downtown they are selling the Embassy suites for $60 - $70 plus the taxes and fees.
