When I was stationed in Norfolk VA, there was a local restaurant that delivered to the base (pre 9/11) that had "suicide wings". Those things would tear you up from the inside out.

That's it I'm getting duck tomorrow
There is a place here in NYC in Chinatown that makes an amazing Peking Duck. I don’t get there very often but when I do, it is always so good.

    My secret to surviving that.

Eat a base first.  If you go only the wings it will tear you up.  If you have something in your belly already it won't be as bad.

    You're welcome.

We actually have a great place for Peking Duck about 20 minutes away. $100 for a whole duck with all the sides. I call it the Westchester tax.

I went to Queens College and frequented the Chinatown in Flushing. The one point in my life I actually got tired of duck.

Me too! Hot pan. Lots of oil. No rush. Didn't even flip it until it was in the bread.

I have a love affair with my skillet. Handed down to me from father. Seen lots of use. Guessing a solid 50 + years.
I have another small one he gave me but it needs tlc. Never use it and it's pretty messed up. May be a good project to restore it.

I guess technically it is! Didn’t even know that. Usually 718 is associated with Brooklyn.

Today's lunch. Ground sirloin, a ton of mushrooms and onions, and brown gravy (not made from scratch, but basically a demi-glace cube from Japan, a bit of worcestershire and a splash of black vinegar). I swear there is a 1/3lb. formed patty under there.
