Actually, a lot of small businesses depend on Amazon sales…0
-
Ahhh yes, but you can go to Amazon to see those products from those small companies/find out who they are, then purchase from them directly outside of Amazon. Like pre-Amazon times!0

Buy on Saturday if you want the mug. $24.99 is overpriced for a t shirt? Those Red Hats cost Americans a lot.RatherStarved said:Don’t buy anything. Except overpriced T-shirts, hoodies and mugs on the website of the cause.Post edited by THEBIBLEISTEN on0

Ah to be in the comfortable position to afford these luxury opinions to virtue signal to the plebs.Pearl Jam have badly lost the plot,0

I'm surprised at either all the naysayers or uninterested responses. I mean, sure, we're almost powerless against the billionaires class, but if we unite for one day, we can remind them the power we have when we come together. It's a show of force to remind them not to forget who enriches them and how we can taketh away. I'm not optimistic that a large majority of people would be willing to commit to a long term boycott (at least based on the election outcome), but if we did, we could impact their bottom line significantly and force them to recognize what we as consumers want matters.Get_Right said:Help me understand what this will accomplish. Not sure why so many need to come in here and shit all over it though. Move along if your pessimistic worldview finds this unworthy of your time. We'll just keep marching towards plutocracy. It's a hopeless situation...0

No they haven’t. Do you even understand the point of the blackout? Why don’t you do your research first and educate yourself before making uneducated posts.Tjm007 said:Ah to be in the comfortable position to afford these luxury opinions to virtue signal to the plebs.Pearl Jam have badly lost the plot,0

They won't even notice. So the revenue may be less than typical for a Friday (even this is doubtful), but the purchases will just shift to a later day. Small businesses and shops may see a bump for a day similar to the small business Saturday event. Not sure what this is showing anyone, but kudos to all who are participating.tbergs said:

I don't get it. I do not see this as having a huge impact. February is a slow month for retailers. Trying to blackout the President's day sales probably would have had made more sense. 0 0

Yeah, to be fair, I heard nothing bout this until PJ sent the email yesterday. I feel like they should have had built some momentum. But I also don’t follow a lot of resistance stuff.0
