It’s not one day. This is just the first day of many planned for the resistance. And yes, the people responding have known for a while, it has been all over social media if your are resisting the current administration.

    Exactly.
There are people who care about this, and people who don't care enough to follow what's going on.  What's going on is that the U.S. (and other countries) are turning toward authoritarian rule and tyranny.  The people who don't care or don't follow that huge sociopolitical shift,  or even those who are in favor of tyranny and authoritarian rule and think that will somehow make their lives better will eventually realize the opposite is true- that is, unless they are very, very wealthy, their lives will become more difficult, their choices reduced, and their freedoms diminished.  So the wise thing to do is become more informed and voice one's concerns, and do what ever thing, regardless of how small, to resist.  That is why I and many others are participating in today's 24-hour economic blackout.
"Don't give in to the lies.  Don't give in to the fear. Hold on to the truth.  And to hope."

They're still transacting business on blackout day as my wife's 10C membership renewal just posted.  I guess she's part of the problem doing business today of all days :worried:
10c store is closed today. Her membership auto renews same day every year. No way to know in advance who is going to be president the next year and who has auto renew on

 It's revenue for them today on a day they've joined the blackout.  Doesn't matter if it's from merch or membership fees.

OK, what would you like to see PJ do? Should they give up all their possessions and earnings and offer free concerts so you will respect them again? I'm not sure what people are expecting. If this comes down to the fact that you don't like their concert prices or that they sell merch, I guess it's time to move on. No person of wealth is going to ever live a lifestyle that is 100% in line with those who helped them get their by buying their product/service, but hopefully they don't lose their values and sense of purpose along the way. I mean we've seen the way most of the billionaire and wealthy class have obeyed in advance because it suits their bottom line. These people have no ethical or moral grounding and will do whatever makes them wealthier (see Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, etc.). Amazon and Walmart have low prices for a reason and I understand that not everyone can afford to always shop more ethically. I also don't think people really give a shit anymore. These same people scream America first while supporting cheap Chinese goods and shady labor practices overseas. The Walmart/Dollar Tree saturation to low income consumers is disgusting. I want to support my local businesses and I've found ways to make it work to pay that extra few dollars to a local place, but it's not always easy. The simple option is for most to go on Amazon and get it shipped (in many cases from overseas) for free and have it in 2 days. Yeah, that's pretty awesome in today's world, but then don't complain about loss of American production and jobs when over half of your disposable income goes to imported goods.
I would have them [rude comment removed-Admin] on their personal politics and stop asking fans to do their heavy lifting.

Reminder: You don’t have to like everything the band does, however it is not ok to be rude.

    Posting Guidelines

    1. Be nice. We're very big on RESPECT here. Respect for each other, the band and the Ten Club Community forum environment. Please think of it as if you are as a guest in someone else's home. Please do not put your posting privileges at risk.

    2. Discuss, disagree and debate politely. It's possible to disagree with people without being abusive, and it's a requirement here.

I'm going to go get some gas, then I am off to Walmart for 2 pairs of sweatpants and some cheap shirts that I can ruin while I paint my house. Then I'm going to Menards to get a bag of durabond 45(look it up if you don't know). Then I'm going to the Italian Deli down the street to go get Kathy and I some lunch.

Sorry folks, I will leave this protest to you.
    I wish you the best.

47.5% of the US private workforce works for large corporations.

And why  is gas part of this?  I mean the other stuff you can live without or find alternatives or reduce your consumption...avoiding gas 1 day?

Honestly, it's just a mindset that I do not get.

People who say, "This will have no effect," are the ones who would have sat on their hands during all moments when people have stood up for what is right. Their opinion is only noise and it is how the opposition wins. Anyone who really cares must stand up, resist, and do what you can. I just canceled Amazon today. In the past, I said I wouldn't do it, because it made my life "easier", even though I have disagreed with pretty much everything Bezos has done to others. Nothing is going to be easy for most of us for at the very least the next four years. These simple inconveniences are nothing compared to what other people have had to endure.

1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2
    2024 Sacramento, CA

You clearly don’t understand boss but that’s ok, if you educated yourself you might understand what this is for. And no one told you to protest the deli. Read, get informed or just go eat a pickle.

Right, cause if you disagree or think something has no effect clearly that means that is your opinion on every issue across all time.  Dumb statement.

I bought coffee from a mid-tier chain. Does anyone know what the cut off for gross income is? I can put in a request to the barista for their Profit and Loss statement and make sure Im compliant.

But like a winter storm coming, won't you just stock up before these days come, but you can pat yourself on the back that you are "making a difference?"

There are a lot of people on here who claim to be PJ fans while badmouthing just about everything they do, music they make, and the things they say.

I believe the term we're looking for is HYPOCRITES

All the band did is share a flyer for a protest and give thier employees a Friday off, and a lot of you are taking it weirdly personally. They offered information, use it if you like and ignore it if you don’t. But imagine being mad enough about it to fight strangers.
There are a lot of people on here who claim to be PJ fans while badmouthing just about everything they do, music they make, and the things they say.

I believe the term we're looking for is HYPOCRITES

    You nailed it.

Help me understand what this will accomplish. What is the end goal?
I'm surprised at either all the naysayers or uninterested responses. I mean, sure, we're almost powerless against the billionaires class, but if we unite for one day, we can remind them the power we have when we come together. It's a show of force to remind them not to forget who enriches them and how we can taketh away. I'm not optimistic that a large majority of people would be willing to commit to a long term boycott (at least based on the election outcome), but if we did, we could impact their bottom line significantly and force them to recognize what we as consumers want matters.

Not sure why so many need to come in here and shit all over it though. Move along if your pessimistic worldview finds this unworthy of your time. We'll just keep marching towards plutocracy.
Wait the billionaires who have been wasting our tax money year after year after year? Those billionaires or the ones you just want to single out? Viva la DOGE!!!!!
