    I would love a return back to Alpine Valley,  but I'll take Soldier field.  I wonder 🤔 can this be something due to PJ 35?

    Also I would absolutely love a return to Chicago, but I feel like this is a type of an event for a 40 year thing. 
    Why are we so sure they’d celebrate year 35? What’s the significance

    Hopefully they don’t use Ticketmaster and the ticket prices are kept under $25.

    It's a fan theory/thing people are willing into existence. Also, the timing is all over the place as far as to celebrate 'what'. Hell, Jeff was wearing shirts with 33 on them, and Ed was ever present with his Walter Payton 34 jersey lol.
    The only thing we have to go on, is Ed said they were planning "something special" this year, and the 10-date jaunt isn't it. That's just 2023 over again to keep the wheels greased ;) more to come...

    Sound is okay. I’m sure PJ would/did sound great there. You’re there to watch the screens, unless you’re actually close. 
    Just leaving afterwards, doesn’t seem to matter if you leave early, or hang around. The hordes of people trying to navigate that museum campus is a nightmare. And I usually don’t care about large crowds. Leaving lollapalooza is easier than leaving a concert at soldier field. In my opinion

    My pessimistic side just thinks they’d wait till year 40 to do another big anniversary type event!
    will never be upset for  them finding a reason to play Chicago!

    I believe the fees were $24 on next year’s tickets, let alone the ticket price.

    It just feels right.   The band is in top form, with high energy, and just delivered the remarkable masterpiece Dark Matter.  Why not PJ35 now, while they have this energy.  2024 was quite the year for Pearl Jam, and us fans, plus many new fans I'm sure.

    I remember EV talking during this year's Wrigley shows. Was it just me, or did he make it sound like Wrigley shows were in the band's rearview mirror? He would talk about Wrigley being special, being honored to have played there, and not being sure if they'd make it back... more than once.

    It could have been typical EV Wrigley jargon, or an acknowledgment of age, but I don't remember that sentiment in '16 or '18. It seems especially odd given his recent comments about the band having at least another record or two left in 'em.

    This - leaving Metallica at Soldier Field last year was a nightmare for me. You shuffle along, shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people for more than a hour just trying to get to the main avenue.
    The sound was great though and getting in was a breeze. Be prepared for the agonizing departure though if they do play there. 
    That being said, I would do it all over again to see PJ there 🤣🤣

    It did kinda feel like that. You never know, but it that's the end for them there, then I was happy to be there,

    I think after Eds health issues in Europe coupled with the band getting older in general, I think the Wrigley talk was more 'appreciate it while you got it because you don't know whats coming next'. But If they are doing Soldier, I'm sure talk was initiated at some point this year so he probably figured maybe thats in the cards for the foreseeable future and not Wrigley.

    Metallica is hard to judge sound of a venue by though. They do a 3 hour full band soundcheck the Thursday before all their weekend concerts on this tour. So they’re dialing in everything for every corner of each venue they go to. Most bands don’t go to that extreme.

    Weird because I had the exact opposite experience both shows. Paid for parking in advance, and yeah, while the walk to the lot sucks, getting out was a breeze and right onto LSD. I should say though, we left right as the last song started for each night, so maybe that was a factor.

    Lollapalooza? Would make more sense than Soldier Field, imo.
