The distance to the end is closer now than it's ever been. Sad but true. Savor every show.
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.0 -
Foriginal Sin said:matt84 said:A few mentioning PJ35. What’s the significance of 35 years?I mean it's sad to think about. They're mostly in the early 60s (or about to enter them). You hope they have a Rolling Stones length of career, but on the spectrum of bands, that's best case scenario, which would mean 20 years(ish). If something not good happen, then less. It doesn't really feel like that much time. And most bands don't make it to Rolling Stones Length careers.Generally I feel this way about most of my favourite bands, which is why I keep going to shows. When I'm retired, I doubt there's going to be many concerts I want to go to. May as well keep going while I can.0

A 20 year interval is a sound assumption.
However, the band's energy is currently very high.
They just recently released Dark Matter, a masterpiece that stands up to the very best albums in their catalog.
The Andrew Watt effect is magical, and they likely have some new projects on the way very soon.
So given these factors , why not do it now, rather than see what the situation is like in 5 years.

October 1990 was the first official Pearl Jam show. The PJ20 film material was put together in 2010.
Then the PJ20 tour kicked off the following year in 2011. But the concept of PJ20 is based on 20 years from the original show.I'm spinning, oh-oh-oh I'm spinning0 -
Aside from being Walter Payton's jersey, Ed emphasized numerous times, that it reflected the 34 years of PJ together as a band.
I think one of the reasons was to set in everyone's mind that 2025 is year 35, in PJ years.
Its a nice round number for a milestone, given the fact that 2020 (30 years) was during Covid. No possible show(s) there.
They have the energy and momentum now, why wait 5 years when it might not be as optimum? If it IS, I'm there for PJ40 as well!
If its not PJ35, just a nod to *30 yrs since Soldier Field is good cause for extra celebration.
*My bad. Haven't had my coffee yet.
I didn't make it to the first one, would love to be there if there's another.Post edited by OfThePearl on0 -
