I'm not a fan of shows at Soldier Field. Most seats you're what feels like miles away and just watching the screens. That said, for PJ I'd go of course.

October 1990 was the first official Pearl Jam show.  The PJ20 film material was put together in 2010.
Then the PJ20 tour kicked off the following year in 2011.  But the concept of PJ20 is based on 20 years from the original show.
They should lay a show at The Ramp if it still exists for Ten Club members only.

A few mentioning PJ35. What’s the significance of 35 years?
that a band member is still alive. I gotta feelin, a feeling deep inside if one of the original 4 is gone, this band is done. Just a matter of time. Saw the last show of Lynard Skynard with an OG band member in San Antonio 2 years ago. They still tour, now a 100% cover band. PJ will die sooner than we think
    Wow. That's bleak.o
Not trying to be. I passed on TOTD and Tom Petty because I was gonna “catch em next time…”

just being realistic. Hell Rickey Henderson just passed at 65

Maybe it's just in my head but as someone who listens to PJ radio all day I am noticing a slight uptick in playing songs from the 1995 Soldiers Field show.
    Probably means nothing.
  • I noticed that too.  Right after this thread started.  Definitely not just confirmation bias.  ;-)
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

They just had a tour announcement less than a month ago. So it’s going to be awhile, other than the 1 or 2 festival shows

Sorry… no updates. And I prob won’t have any updates anytime soon. I’m not lying when it came from a reliable source. From a high profile Chicago friend of the band.  So take it for what it’s worth.  And I will leave it as that. 😁

If they did this the night before Oasis, it would be a dream.
Going to the Oasis show in Chicago. Would kill for this to be the case. But if i had to guess, it would probably be on the 26th, as that gives the crew the whole day of the 27th to set up the Oasis stage.
  • Over the years I’ve met a guy named rob that has known the band from the early days. Hes an early 10c member. I’ve seen his tix, wrigley he’s 1st row center behind ga. Is this ur guy? Or are u him?

I'm seeing more and more shows happen there. Oasis, System of a Down and Avenged Sevenfold.... It would be neat, but when was the last time PJ played a NFL stadium...?
What does that have to do with anything?

They don't play NFL stadiums. That's what it has to do with anything. Let me condense my statement. I don't believe they're going to play Soldier Field.
Just because they DON’T, doesn’t mean they WON’T.

Besides, they just played SEVEN football stadiums last month🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂😂

Although the return of the band to Aus was exciting and the size of the crowds were impressive, Engie, Metricon and Marvel Stadiums are not comparable in size to NFL stadiums.
Fair enough. However, most nfl stadiums seem to be around 65-75 thousand capacity. Some more, some less. But if an artist isn’t doing an “in the round” or center stage setup, their attendances numbers are pretty much around 45-50-55k. Look up any stadium sized artist and look at the numbers they draw. The Peppers at Sofi in 2022 was 46,900. And these numbers are the norm out there🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Taylor Swift was pulling 60-70K in NFL stadiums and that's with a run way. A field can make up a lot of the lost seats behind the stage. A rough estimate is that fully sold out concert can do about 90% of a NFL stadium's capacity. More in the weird places like Nissian and Acrisure that don't have wrap around seating because the field is just bonus.

The merchandise lines are going to be ridiculous. But I will be standing in line for the 2025 Pearl Jam-Soldier Field football and skate deck!
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
