No, but a disgruntled person could have hired someone. Plus, hit men get fucked over by health insurance companies too, lol.

My wife's doctor thinks she may have an uncommon disorder that amplifies her arthritis more. Closest specialist is almost 3 hours away. It took a few weeks for the referral to go through. She heard back last night.....next available appointment is January 2026! Yes, 2026.
I understand it's a specialist and there's just limited doctors, but over a year? Come on.
Ridiculous
She ended up driving to Indianapolis to see a Dr...maybe 3-4 weeks after diagnosis. It all turned out good but what a fucked up system.
I don't know why so few people want to become doctors anymore, but I've heard some say that there's just too much paperwork to do these days and others are frightened off by the law suites filed by ambulance-chasing lawyers.
Anyway, glad your story had a happy conclusion. All very true, Shecky (and refreshing to be in agreement on a topic here.)For most of the last 30 years, I have not been able to find a general practitioner that is an MD. All (6? 7? 8?) have been nurse practitioners. All have been nice enough people and seem to do what they can, but with everything I've had to deal with (autoimmune disorder, chronic vertigo, skin cancer, a variety of hearing issues, lichen planus, oral lichen planus, arthritis, digestive disorders), I have to see the nurse practitioner simply to get a referral to see a specialist. It can sometimes take months, sometimes several months. This has been going on too long. I've been known from time to time to tell my wife she should take me out to pasture and shoot me.Post edited by brianlux on"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

I think a pro would have done a head shot. Clearly the guy was comfortable with the gun but shooting in the back seems like a disgruntled person.
It will be interesting to see how he paid at Starbucks. If a credit card he's fucked. Probably used his rewards card.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

And then yesterday we see the news that BC/BS is only going to pay for a certain amount of anesthesia for surgeries, etc. I'm sure they have some internal reasoning but the optics are bad. What's next? If a surgeon goes in to remove something and sees something else they won't pay for that?

When the mob is fickle shit is gonna burn...
So dudes gun jammed and he reset and kept firing. Huge barrel at the end, silencer? I wondered why he left the shells, now we know. Depose, Deny, Defend were written on the casings.
I understand the need to make money but having our health insurance as a capitalist venture is nuts.
I'm thinking of the movie Rainmaker here only the CEO got murdered and not sued.0 -

I have a friend who manages a very specialized surgical practice. She told me last night that UHC is the worst when it comes to denials. And it is even worse at the end of the year.0

Admittedly, I'm a bit disturbed at how much celebrating I saw about a murder. I don't expect people to mourn or do much more than go about their day. I even accept some "well, insurance companies deny people into their graves" type of comments.
