Literally not one prior Republican president, vice president, or family member of such showed up at the RNC Convention. How sad.
It's funny how if the Republican party had moved in a positively perceived direction vs a very negative one this would be viewed as a good thing

WAY buried in an Inquirer article about Trump's "remarks on the economy" in York, PA - because who cares what the actual workers say???

    https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/donald-trump-york-pennsylvania-fracking-20240819.html

In addition, the union that represents workers at Precision Custom Components also panned Trump’s campaign stop.

Brian Bryant, president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), in a statement blamed Trump for the closure of dozens of manufacturing plants during his presidency and said his tax policy “accelerated job losses, eroded the foundation of American manufacturing and devastated the IAM union.”

“Donald Trump had his chance, and he failed us,” Bryant said.

WASHINGTON, May 31, 2024 – Brian Bryant, International President of the 600,000-member International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM), has been appointed by President Biden to serve on the President’s Export Council, a U.S. governmental organization that serves as the principal national advisory committee on international trade.

and? he says the PREVIOUS admin failed his union and theres issue with a board or advisory council he currently sits on?
Not at all. Point is the guy is a Biden appointee. Of course he will criticize Trump.

While I didn't like Bush, he at least was a person with emotions. I disagreed with most of his policies, just like I disagreed with McCain and Romney, but overall they were decent human beings. You're trying to create an equivalency that can't be compared based on the chaos of the current GOP. I never thought there'd be a worse candidate/president than Bush, but fuck, they went off the chart. So losing all prior GOP nominees besides current fringe supporters looking to stay relevant is crazy.

I mean, I would be happy never to see or hear from the Clinton's again, but whatever, I understand their role and the messaging of dems hasn't drastically shifted in the last 30 years.
    It's a hopeless situation...

You seem really concerned about the issues affecting every day Americans. You should write Congress about the tampon crisis in boy's restrooms.

I agree with everything you say here. My other posts are tongue in cheek but I do think it speaks to how overblown rhetoric is in the moment. Posting "W is a decent human being" here in 2007 say would have got you flambéd.

Disagree...saying "W is a brilliant man" might have but he was and is a decent person which is obvious. People mostly had issues with Darth Cheney.

My issue with W was cutting taxes and going to war at the same time. Just stupid and not fiscally conservative which is why I voted Kerry and then haven't voted for a repub for President since.

It's all speculation but you and I have very different memories of that era, especially with the wars

Edit: And I also completely agree with your second paragraph

Today 8/21/2024: The US Labor Department revises 12-month job growth down by a massive 818,000 jobs. In other words, the US economy actually created 818,000 LESS jobs than initially reported. Biggest revision in 15 years. Harris is fake, just like the fake jobs numbers initially reported.

W turned me into a Democrat and there's no going back. The R's have only managed to somehow get worse and worse since then.
