Any guesses as to when they'll start F2F? The May shows are only 10 weeks away, so. maybe mid March?I'm like an opening band for your mom.0

Me too. My research says the venue can hold at least 25,000 for a football game. Even when they close off the seats behind the stage, with the whole field being GA you'd have to think that means at least 30,000 for a concert right? Anyone know what the attendance was for the Pearl Jam show there in 2018?Noload said:

So how do we know if we actually lost since the roll out is three days long and no emails have confirmed it?98: St. Louis. 2000: Alpine. 2003: Chicago. 2006: Chicago Night 2, Milwaukee Night 1. 2007: Chicago (Lolla). 2009: Chicago 1 & 2. 2011: Alpine 1 & 2. 2013: Chicago & LA Night 1. 2016: Chicago 1 & 2. 2018: Chicago 1 & 2.

It could be a weird coincidence but both my PJ buddy and I got GA tix for the Missoula show. It was the only gig either of us got GA for (we each got seats for both Chicago shows, and she got seats for Baltimore and Boston 1).

And the only Pearl Jam songs that get played on "modern rock" stations are from 1991 through 1994.YourDirtisMyfood said:
ZLX was classic, yes which is funny because Pearl Jam is now considered classic rock and appears today on classic rock stations I believe.BF25394 said:
Yes, BRU came in better in Worcester than it did in Boston-- but I was the Programming Director of my college station in Worcester so I couldn't listen to BRU in good conscience. I did later date a woman who lived in Providence for two years, so I got my BRU fix then.YourDirtisMyfood said:
Don't forget 95.5 WBRU and WZLX.BF25394 said:
I went to college in Worcester and lived in Newton from 1997 to 2003 after I graduated. (Incidentally, one of my best friends with whom I've been to many PJ shows is from Quincy. We met at a Newbury Comics listening party in Braintree prior to the release of Yield.) I, too, loved WFNX. I moved to L.A. in 2003 and it sucked not having a station like that here. (KROQ was a pale imitator then, and it's a joke now.) When I heard that FNX was shutting down, I kept a vigil listening to it online. Between FNX and WBCN (and even WAAF), it was a great time and place to love rock music in Boston in the 1990s and early 2000s.JHolmes72 said:
I was a Mother Love Bone fan yes, but it was most likely Boston radio WFNX...trying to tune in from NH, lots of fuzz...it was the best back then. All the kids who wanted more than mainstream listened to it. I was crushed when it went off the air many years later. And like I said I don't remember the exact date of course, but I assumed it was 1991 because I dropped out that year and it was a college friend who reminded me of the conversation.BF25394 said:
I wasn't intending to give you a hard time. I asked because, if it had really been 1990, that would have been a story unto itself as to how you were familiar with the band in its infancy, and I would have wanted to know more. You could have been at the Off Ramp or something. As I noted in my reply, 1991 is still pretty early, and is likely also an interesting story. How did you become aware of the band in the fall of 1991 when the album was brand new and they were not yet getting much radio or any MTV airplay? Were you a Mother Love Bone fan who was plugged in to what those guys were going to do next?
With respect to the dates, they are second nature to a lot of us in the fan club, so 1990 and 1991 are very distinct years in terms of Pearl Jam for a lot of us. Again, I'm not knocking you for misstating the date-- just trying to convey why you saying 1990 would make me go, "Wow, really? 1990?!"
ZLX was classic rock, no?
I remember Opie and Anthony and Liz Wilde the Cream Cheese Be*atch on WAAF LOL.
I was actually a guest on the WAAF morning show one time (hosted by LB?). Long story. I was briefly famous once. I was also on a few times with John Lander on whatever station he was on. (It was top 40 or AC. I have cassette tapes of these appearances somewhere.)
EDIT: Lander was on Mix 98.5. I tried to get his female sidekick to take me to the Grammys as her date. She seemed to genuinely consider it.Post edited by BF25394 onI gather speed from you fucking with me.0
