I always wonder if it’s just Jeff who doesn’t like touring or if it’s Stone, Mike etc as well. I know it wouldn’t be the same but if it was just one member who wanted a touring break I probably wouldn’t mind them doing what the Killers do and get a temporary touring stand in. I know if wouldn’t be anywhere as good as having the full band, but given everyone isn’t getting any younger, I would take say 4/5ths of the band + more shows, over a 2-3 year touring break.
Jeff seems to get blamed for it but it seems like that’s not really warranted.
Don't think this is the case.
Talking with Rob at a RNDM show he said Jeff basically paid for the tour and wasn't making anything, but loved being out there touring. So take that for what it's worth...

I think I paid around $30 AFTER fees for the Boston show on the Ghost Riding tour... I definitely wondered more than once how they turned a profit with those prices... turns out they didn't.

& that show was phenomenal too.

Jeff made that one comment a few years back about not enjoying the grind of touring. But then he also said after the shows were cancelled in 2020 and rebooked in 2022, that he couldn't wait to get back to performing live. like anything, I'm sure it's a love/hate thing, and it all depends on a mood when talking to someone at that moment.
Also said this at the end of the Euro tour last year. Didn’t give the impression he was mad keen being away from home. Was only around 5 weeks which is quite a short period if you think of how long other bands are typically on the road.

that could also be interpreted as the struggles they had with band members/crew getting covid along the way. it was a short tour, but it was fraught with difficulties.
    Darwinspeed, all.

Maybe it's just me, but seems to be more social media posts from PJ lately, maybe a build up to something. The logical mind part of me though says why tour now, why not wait until the new album is near finished before hitting the road for anything in depth again. The hopeful part of me says maybe a couple shows this spring/summer and maybe, just maybe the MSG Sphere in the fall/winter. https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/las-vegas-msg-sphere-residencies/

    Here's something...or nothing.

Speaking of Jeff not wanting to tour as much (and I still think that comment was taken slightly out-of-context.) I think he doesn't like the hassle of being on the road and in a different city every night, but I think he likes playing and using the money for good things...and I think the article even mentioned that.

But anyhoo...a few years ago, there was some talk/rumors that we might see Kim, Ben and Matt tour again or make new music. Obviously, it wouldn't be the Soundgarden name. If it happens, it may not even be the Nude Dragons name.

AND OBVIOUSLY...there may still be a huge legal situation there with Vicky. (I think that's who it's with. I'll admit I'm not totally current there.)

If Matt is touring with Pearl Jam, he obviously can't be with Kim and Ben... such as what happened in 2014.

But if he's not with PJ as much...then maybe is there possibly any chance that the Matt/Kim/Ben thing rides again?

    Perhaps it's something to ponder.

Or do we think Kim and Ben are done?

What do Soundgarden fans know here that I don't?
it would be amazing if the 3 of them worked together again with another vocalist. I would imagine they'd tread that extremely quietly, as to not get expectations up too high. if they ever did anything together again, it wouldn't' surprise me if it was something like 3rd Secret. Just BAM! record released. no promotion. no fanfare.

Orrrr...bloody hell...if Josh can't be that extra guitarist... Whatchu up to, Kim and Ben?

Hotel prices are already insane. Loved the festival in 2021 but no way we are going at those prices.

When we went a couple years back we ended up doing an Air BnB in San Clemente and it worked out really nicely.

Good strategy. I booked something refundable last night in Laguna Beach and I'm glad I did lol. I'll just rent a car, or take a lyft.

Ohana is the weekend before ACLs two weekends so no conflict there if PJ is touring or at ACL in October.

I’m guessing Foo Fighters or Green Day might headline Ohana with Ed and then maybe a pop act?

It really is. He's listed as playing the Willie Nelson 90 shows in April, which will be his first shows anywhere since before COVID. So maybe this is the year.

I looked at the prices of hotels and AirBnBs in the area and they are crazy. I managed to find a really reasonable AirBnB for encore weekend in ‘21 that was only a 15 minute walk from the concert site. This year that doesn’t look too likely. I am going to wait until the lineup is announced. If it turns out to be something we want to go see we will just get a room a little bit away from Dana Point and take the shuttle.

He was recently on Stern and it didn’t sound promising that he’ll be touring on any large scale again.

Was the Ohana shuttle located in Aliso Viejo again last year? I am thinking about booking a refundable room near the shuttle location and then see what the line up is.
