Tell you what.  I had to look twice because I did not think they were sex toys.  I'm googling walmart and adult toys now...

    Holy shit, they sell them!

I laughed at took a picture, shared with people, when I saw the dildos/vibrators in CVS recently
They were there in plain sight.
I don't think they should sell in plain sight but it isn't the end of the world.
Was a surprise, but it wasn't anything I didn't anything other laugh about.  I would just tell my son it is an adult thing.
When he is old enough, I am fine with telling him what adults use then for.  No big deal.

Where were all these concerns about grooming when the catholic church was having a free for all with the altar boys?

This has nothing to do with protecting kids and is 100% about demonizing certain segments of our population.
Demonizing which segment?  I think all segments use dildos.

it usually goes like this in an aisle at a pharmacy...

family planning(to include battery operated devices) then into diapers and other assorted baby shit. at the end along a perpendicular wall are the beer coolers....

When I hear 'groomer' from the likes of MGT, I infer it's an attack on the LGBTQ community. Maybe that's just me, but they are a pretty popular target of the far right nowadays. I'm also not convinced that MGT gives a f about children.

With all that being said... if that's real, WTF Walmart?

I disagree.  Mom's put kids in carts and walk around stores.  Kids point out the toothbrush they want, as it makes it less likely they'll fight you about brushing teeth.  There's really no good defense for putting dildos next to kids tbs.  Put them someplace else.. It's common sense.
and those kids would likely be at an age where they wouldn't have a clue what a dildo is, and wouldn't take a second look.

Maybe they would, but maybe they wouldn't.  Declaring what every child would or would not do is an exercise in futility.  Either way, there's no defensible reason to put them THERE.  If the only defense is that kids wouldn't ask or take a second look, that's not a good argument.

yeah, I just think they're outraging for the sake of outraging. it is odd, I'll agree there. I would imagine stuff like that should be hidden (like cigarettes are in canada). but like others have said, jesus, the stuff kids are exposed to/have access to these days, THAT'S an exercise in futility.

Reminds me of when we went to Jamaica and ventured into town to shop. We hit this market and my then 10 year old daughter comes up to me with something and says "dad what is this?"....it was a pot pipe where you had to draw on the dude's dick which was about the size of a tootsie roll. The bowl was on his back like he was carrying a big knapsack. Good times.

When I was about 6, I was at a carnival and won one of those small mirrors that used to be popular.  Like you'd have a Def Leppard one or whatever.  Anyway, I picked up one that said Coca Cola in the classic cursive style.  Only problem is that it said "Cocaine, Rich Man's Aspirin".  Mom was not pleased.  She called the Carny a "groomer".

That brings back some crazy memories...this was the Great Darke County Fair which is a big fucking deal there.

They had a mic tent where you could pay a quarter and have them make an announcement for you or tell someone you were looking for to "please come to the mic tent", etc.

The guy running that had to wonder why Mike Hunt, Mike Hocksbigg, Tess Stickels, etc. were so popular.

Where were all these concerns about grooming when the catholic church was having a free for all with the altar boys?

This has nothing to do with protecting kids and is 100% about demonizing certain segments of our population.
This is what drives me bonkers. I get they have to be stupid and dramatic, but associating grooming with cross dressers and transgendered is adding to the problem of people not understanding actual grooming that sex offenders do. It involves breaking down healthy boundaries between adults and kids and engaging in sexualized behavior with them and has nothing to do with cross dressers reading stories to kids.

It involves breaking down healthy boundaries between adults and kids and engaging in sexualized behavior with them and has nothing to do with cross dressers reading stories to kids.
Or putting sex toys next to toothbrushes.

Or putting sex toys next to toothbrushes.
Well... The toothbrush and the sex toy both vibrate so maybe?  Maybe teaching is a better word than grooming? /S

    Hi!Hi! Posts: 3,095

I heard PJs “Daughter”  blasting on the WalMart parking lot speakers the other day when I went there. I hadn’t even realized they had speakers/played music before that. Thought it was pretty cool.

The worst thing about buying “adult toys” from WalMart is that they put those electronic theft devices on them. Even if you go through self-checkout you have to have a cashier come over and unlock it. A lot of times they don’t even have the key and they have to call over someone else and it just turns into a big ordeal. So embarrassing. Prolly best to just order on-line.
