Yep. Everyone expecting January is setting themselves up for disappointment.

Didn't hear the interview, but heard Earthlings shows would be a test. So, it sounds like EV's shows are on... at least for now.

Did Jeff say the Earthlings shows are a test?

The EV shows have always been and are still a 100% go.

They just announced a sweepstakes for a get away package for an EV show.  If there was even a small possibility of a postponement, this would not have been done.

We are under the 3 week mark for the Tour to start.  Covid will be just as bad in 20 days as it is now.  I can’t see how anyone still thinks these shows aren’t going to happen.

Best news I have had all week. I have been trying to stay positive that the shows in Chicago would not be postponed or cancelled, but there has been that nagging voice in my head telling me not to get my hopes up too high.

Logistically speaking, they need to announce the make ups. People need to buy plane tickets, get hotels, or give up their tickets in some instances pending how the tour is rescheduled.  They need to give people some time.  Fully aware their is a larger issue looming over this, but a decision is needed so people can make their choices on how to make this work.  OR, scrap and start over when they are actually ready to go out on the road.

PJ and Ed have never announced tours while one or the other is out on the road, so I expect we will not hear anything about PJ shows until after the EV tour is done.

An announcement in March with tour starting in May isn’t unheard of (2006, 2010).
    2003 - June 15 Fargo
    2005 - Sept 1 George, Sept 8 Winnipeg
2006 - May 9/10 Toronto, June 26/27 St. Paul, July 22/23 George, Oct 21/22 Mountain View
    2007 - Aug 2/5 Chicago
    2008 - June 22 Washington, June 24/25 New York
    2009 - Aug 21 Toronto, Aug 23/24 Chicago, Sept 21/22 Seattle, Oct 27/28/30/31 Philadelphia
    2010 - May 15 Hartford, May 17 Boston, Oct 23/24 Mountain View
2011 - Sept 3/4 Alpine Valley, Sept 11/12 Toronto, Sept 17 Winnipeg, Sept 19 Saskatoon
    2012 - Sept 30 Missoula
2013 - July 16 London, July 19 Chicago, Oct 12 Buffalo, Dec 2 Calgary, Dec 4 Vancouver, Dec 6 Seattle
    2014 - Oct 16 Detroit, Oct 19 St. Paul, Oct 20 Milwaukee
    2015 - Sept 23 (Colbert)/Sept 26, New York

Solid point. But they also have never had fans hold tickets (willingly, I know) for two years. I am at least hopeful they will give more than two months here, but you very well could be correct.

Still not sure why the fan to fan isn’t opened up yet. That has to be soon! How long was it open before the spring 2020 tour?

Did they mention there being a fan to fan for the EV shows?  Or are we just assuming that there will be one since the PJ shows had one?

I don’t even know anymore! Lol. I swear there was some mention of it.  I just was going through emails from tenclub about it and couldn’t find anything. But this is on Ticketmaster

In the original announcement, it discusses the fan to fan exchange.

In the original announcement, it discusses the fan to fan exchange to launch early 2022. So maybe February  =)

That’s about as clear as it gets.  I’ll admit that’s very strange that the exchange isn’t open yet.  To say that but not have it up and running 20 days before the show is kind of weak

My guess is that it’s more related to the “platinum” tickets not being sold out yet, and less Covid related

Are Ed's shows sold out? If so, what difference does it make if they announce the PJ shows?  I could see if they were struggling to sell Earthlings tickets, but if they are at capacity, then adding the PJ dates shouldn't have an effect.

I think some people are going to lose quite a bit of money in the next few weeks if they’re unable to attend.

Like if you bought a $500 ticket to LA and put it up on the fan exchange you’ll be competing with the $185 tickets still available.

The festival Glen Hansard was scheduled to play right before the Earthlings tour just got cancelled.

"Based on the current direction and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Ark - Ann Arbor has made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Ann Arbor Folk Festival. Although the Folk Festival is The Ark's largest annual fundraising event and cancelling means losing a vital source of their annual operating revenue, the main concern is for the health and safety of patrons, artists, crew, staff, and the broader community."
