Not saying this in a negative light, but: the longer they hold out, the more people refund. The more tickets refunded, the more tickets can be purchased back on ticketmaster for platinum pricing. Double profits for tickets they know will sell.

Some, but I can't imagine they're going to sell 300-level (or even mid-tier) seats as platinum seating unless they come with some really nice perks.

Keep an eye on social media. Any tour info that is in the newsletter will invariably be posted there well before the emails arrive.

The only reason they would give that heads up though is if we are getting something new or if they are doing another draw for all of the refunds. Going to be interesting to see how this all plays out! My wish is we get all of 2022 all at once. Very unlikely I know.

If they do ballparks this year (I think that was mentioned somewhere in this thread), you'd assume that would have to be announced pretty soon.

So, maybe May run + ballparks for first announcement?

Same here. I just can’t get there. I expect literally nothing from them anymore, except ridiculous merch.

It's impressive how confidential the tour information is kept and there are no leaks especially if the tour is going to start in May.

One reason why I'm skeptical. This is the Counting Crows announcement from earlier today. Rescheduled dates and cancellations all in one. I feel like if a PJ announcement was imminent Baltimore would have been handled similarly.

This is good though as it shows a Euro tour is still happening for that band.

Fauci discussed that mask mandates should be going away soon.  Don’t understand why tours are being postponed unless there is insurance risk that is too costly.

That definitely was happening last year with covid safety being the reason they stated publicly.

For those that think the announcement is a ways off May is coming fast early March has to be the deadline for those shows at the very least. Hopefully we get it soon in February though and all at once.

So are we waiting on NBA playoff schedules or something?  They’ve held our money for 2 years now.  If they know the dates they should announce them so people can finally request refunds if the new dates don’t work.

Eddie’s tour has sold pretty darn well.  Announcing Pj dates should have no bearing on Eddie’s tour.

NHL as well. If they are doing a tour this spring going to be interesting to see how that plays out with the arenas. May is a tough man as we found out in 2016. Bring on the dates!

Ya - that was nuts. Would be really hard for people who travel, only to be bumped by playoffs!  😬

From the looks of Ticketmaster, the EV shows have sold extremely well. Only box office tickets left for Chicago are Platinum and "limited view". San Diego has a handful of Platinum tickets left (~46), LA seems to have the most unsold (~140?), while the Seattle shows have around 20 unsold Platinum tickets each. I don't think a tour announcement is going to harm attendance at those shows.

  • The LA shows, Oak shows, SD show, all in arenas without professional sports teams to deal with. those could all be done in May, even Arizona too as their Hockey team will not make the playoffs. that is half of the planned 2020 shows..

Holy shit California has a shit ton of arenas dont they. Great there is no overlap there as I thought there would be with Oakland but looks like they play at the Chase arena now. Denver will def be a factor and maybe one or two more cities. This leads me to think we are starting in California since the later we get in May the less risk of teams making it that far into the playoffs and have to reschedule shows.

Lol. With both of us being Habs fans I am pretty sure neither of us have any room to be knocking any pro sports teams right now.

I forgot about this - there actually won't be a team playing there in May.

I think it was 10 years ago they played two nights in the LA Sports Arena, a.k.a. The Dump That Jumps. Let's just say it was not in LA's most posh neighbourhood. Pearl Jam plays these old arenas because they are cheap and they sell them out anyway.

The Forum though is a great place renovated just for concerts.

I would assume based on Jeff’s comments on Eddie’s tour being the test, that what they are waiting for is his tour to finish to see if he was able to successfully get through all 3 weeks without any band or crew members getting covid and leading to shows being postponed.

My  guess is they will announce within 1-2 weeks of the completion of Eddie’s tour.

This may be true but I think they are probably using consultants and they don’t need Eddie to tour to see how things are to learn how things are.  There are plenty of tours and bands that they could talk to.

The band has always held an announcement as long as they possibly could because they like things as flexible as possible and this situation is no different.

The STL Blues are in solid playoff contention, so that will be something to watch for that show.

I still think it’s disappointing they are waiting so long to give dates.  The longer the wait the more likely I will have to get a refund for 1 or more of the shows also kept me from traveling to see Ed in this tour and buying Who tickets so far.

My shows will all probably be on wednesdays hahahaha
