I think its possible they are putting together a huge, maybe the last, world tour for Gigaton. Ed mentioned a few times they were going to do a huge tour for Gigaton before covid. So possibly they are putting together final dates as to announce it all at once?

I think once Bruce announces his tour, PJ will follow shortly.
Anything ever come out of those Bruce March dates at MSG? I have not been following lately.
Apparently it’s imminent. I’m not on backstreets, but my dad is.

This is truly a way to reduce travel and minimize exposures if that is their concern.

Knowing a full slate for 2022 off the bat would let people focus on shows in their area first and then places they might want to visit.

I finally gave up on all my European dates. Frees me up for more US shows... just sucks trying to plan logistics for money you spent 2 years ago on short notice. It's fine when it was the initial tour announcement but this is different. It is already planned they are just withholding the information.

It’s ridiculous. I have tickets to 2 euro shows and haven’t even started looking at flights because I’m not sure it’s actually happening.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Me too (though just one show for me), but I don’t think there’s anything the band could say or do right now that would help me here. I’m hesitant to book the trip because I’m concerned that by next summer the pandemic conditions in the US or Europe will have developed such that either (1) I won’t be permitted to fly there, (2) I wouldn’t feel safe flying there and seeing the show or (3) the band wouldn’t feel safe playing the show and decides to postpone again. Pearl Jam releasing a statement in November 2021 that says “we’re really committed to playing those shows” doesn’t really address any of those concerns.

  • I’m in the same boat on Europe but at least for that the band has put out the dates.  Everyone knows that you can’t take any plans as locked in these days (just this week I heard about 2 or 3 last minute show cancellations due to some positive tests) but it shouldn’t prevent disclosing the NA dates that will be the dates if things don’t go off the rails.

back to back festival shows with SHN and Ohana was the PERFECT time to end the waiting game. peak hype, back at it for the first time in 2 years, lets rock!.... then crickets... and not even a hint in the newsletter... that seems to have deflated a lot of people. bands in the age group of the stones are exhibit A for at risk and they made it work... its quickly getting to the point of no excuse... dave mathews just played 2 nights at a sold out msg this weekend.... as the 10c gets to watch from the sidelines? come on now....

All answers to COVID lie within Keith Richards. That’s for sure.

I booked my international flights for Europe 2022.  I'll still go though regardless of whether Pearl Jam plays a note at this point.  Just change up the trip a little.  Not sure yet what anyone expects to change between this year and next year.   I'm in the optimist camp that the US and EUro shows will be a go.

Why do people think because other bands do something or make certain decisions that should have any impact on what another band does.  Yes, there are a lot of bands that are touring etc, there are also a lot of bands not touring or playing a very selective amount of shows. I'd rather a band play shows they want to play then reluctantly play a bunch of shows because they feel they need to cater to their fanbase.   They'll announce and tour if/when they are ready, no point in letting it negatively impact your life, you can stop being a fan anytime you'd like.

Then cancel and refund. They are basically stealing at this point. It's a real thin fucking line right now.

Why not just request a refund? They can’t steal something you’re voluntarily letting them hold.

Right.  What they have done is better than just canceling.  You want the cash. Fine. You want to keep the ticket for the next show. Fine.
