there have been 280 posts since last time i was in this thread. i am too lazy to go back and read.

is sweden's approach being condemned yet?
Sweden is paying workers from the first day of sick leave when feeling sick or having any types of symptoms.

We also have the basic human decency of tax funded health care for all people being treated.

is any country not doing this being condemned yet?
dude, don't take it personally. canada's top health official has been taking it up the pooper since she had her first presser. but come on, sweden fucked up. even the top epidemiologist admits it.

Haven't said anything about Sweden having fucked up or not.

Does anyone still think covid numbers in the US would be the same if Hillary was president?

There were people here that argued that.

I don't follow baseball cause it's boring. You're going to have to be more clear with your analogy for me to understand your point.

I was just asking another question that there is no way of knowing a definitive answer on. Ask team red and they would probably say yes, ask team blue and they would probably say no.

They really dropped the ball over there. Big time.

Sweden is 5th in worst fatality rate in the world per capita.

Trump and the republicans are doing everything they can to get the US rate worse.

45,000 new US cases yesterday. 20% higher than any other day.

Are we allowed to curse here?

What the F is wrong with the US? Wear a mask. Stay six feet apart. Stay out of bars.

We could have shut down for two months and been done with it, but the crybabies had to have their way. At least we have a slightly less terrible economy now.

No, and not just because she would be competent in a way Trump has no capacity to be. If Hillary were President Fox News would not have spent six weeks lying to its older, whiter, at risk viewers that it was all a hoax and that there was nothing to worry about.

The numbers out of Florida are staggering and infuriating. 5,000+ new cases each of the last two days.

It's getting really scary in Texas too.
Gov Abbott making some moves today but really, they are too little, too late.

I wish I could stay home, but I work at Costco. I took 2 weeks off at the beginning of the month because I was so stressed out and now don't have any paid time off left.
Some people are such assholes about wearing a mask.

He's finally doing something?  I watched the press conference last week where he tried to shame away the "unacceptable" rise in cases.  Meanwhile uneducated friends have said to me that "cases are only on the rise because there is more testing, it's a direct correlation"  Clearly he pushed us to open way too soon.

Costco is the only place I feel some comfort in shopping at here because they require everyone wear a mask. The numbers are getting out of hand though, and most new cases are people under 30 years old here locally.

All he did was halt any further opening plans and cancel elective surgeries.
While the hospitals are filling up here in Dallas, we aren't overwhelmed yet, but at the rate we are going, it's going to be bad.

I was in Connecticut a couple weeks ago and the mask situation was weirdly bad. At a gas station saw 8 people go in and out of the store - none of them wearing a mask. Also stopped at Target - 1 out of 5 people with a face covering, give or take. Did not expect to see that in the northeast.

musician friend of mine posted on FB that his band is playing a private party this coming weekend out of town, and "message me for address if you want to come". fuck. i hate hearing this shit. my guess is that party won't be keeping people 2 meters apart and no one will be wearing masks. i get it. manitoba is in a fabulous position. i just don't want idiots fucking it up.

friends of ours are coming to visit for a week from vancouver. i'm not super stoked about that. i wish they'd just stay home this summer.

But the cap was on, so what was the point of having it done in such a manner?

”I didn’t even feel it!”  Of course not; a prick was impossible.
