No offense to Stipe, but I'm a bit weary of celebrities touting safe behavior at this point.  I figure most if not all should be aware of the basics to try to avoid this virus.  It's probably mostly me, but much of it strikes me as more of attention-grabs than altruistic gestures.

What can I say- I'm a Michael Stipe fan from practically day one.  I saw them in the early days, have listened to their music for so long a little of it runs in my veins.   I personally found what he said to be encouraging.   You maybe should just have ignored my post instead of being negative, OK?  Thanks.

Hi from Aus. Population 24 million. Covid numbers going up expotentially. No one seems to give a shit and continues on with the mass gatherings and infected cruise ships dispersing and and untested planes bringing in everyone and anyone from overseas walking all over sydney and everywhere else and spreading the deadly disease to the rest of us. Threatened with lockdown like naughty kids for overcrowding beaches cause people don't have any respect or care. It seems our country needs to be told what to do cause of the mass amount of disease spreaders incapable of social distancing and doing the right thing themselves. Government wont shut us down so schools, trains, buses and now just domestic air travel still allowed to continue to crowd with people.. people still happy to go on their planned school holiday trips, weddings and gatherings adamant to go ahead because well not going to ruin our special day attitude... Egotistical maniacs in this country without a care in the world.... Give it a couple of weeks they will all be crying like little sooks because of the death rate!!
I woke up with a sore throat this morning, hopefully just a cold but I'm pissed off cause Covid will kill me and I'm only 41.
It's inexcusable that some of these services are still running, and blows me away that many residents are continuing to flout common sense.

I too hope this is just a cold (or allergies?) for you.
They only care about money and the economy. Self entitled attitude here that's how this shitty government got in to start with.
Thank you.. I have a full blown head cold if I get a temperature i will worry. My work exposes me to travellers so won't rule anything out.

Our stupid fuck of a PM refuses to shut down schools. Why should teachers and their families have to be put at risk?
Sweden's Public Health Authority has today decided to still keep schools open,

    because

    - the effects of having them closed have shown to be at most marginal, so far.

    and

    - it would be a huge strain on society and the health care system if people are not able to go to work because of children being kept at home

    and

    - people should avoid after skis this upcoming weekend.

Sweden has 10 million people and 85% of them live in villages with 200 or fewer people.  California is a little smaller and has 4x as many people.
No offense, but there really isn't any sense in comparing Sweden to...anything.
    Isn't Thoughts_Arrive from Australia?

    Who is talking about California?

So no offense, but there really isn't any sense in you comparing.... anything

An American tour bus group in the Barossa valley (wine country) S.A Australia has tested 10 positive covid19 and are now in isolation where they are. They had travelled the eastern states before falling ill. They were here before mandatory 14 day self isolation laws came in .

Maybe they were taking advice from your GP.
I think a GP knows what she is talking about.

Aussies are stupid. Packing the beaches, packing the bars and cafes despite warnings to keep 4m sq. apart from each other.

Careful with him, he’s been widely criticized for downplaying the situation. I mean, yesterday more than 600 people died Italy. How can he say there’s no problem??

Going for a long walk today. Try to avoid people. Gonna go support a local restaurant and by home some of their vegan cheeses and other stuff.

My collegues on the movie I work on who is still working at the office went and had lunch at my moms reaturant to support it a tad. Was very thankful.

This economy is gonna crash. people gonna have to takeaway etc like crazy.
