And here I am without any internet service at home right now. I sure picked the wrong time to move and try to change providers   Don’t know when, or if, the new provider will be willing and able to come to install the new service.

Oh well - I’ve got plenty of books.

That sucks!  (But not the part about having plenty of books!)

I hear everyone with the timing of this with allergy season. Here in the Twin Cities, we had an early spring and pretty much all the snow cover is gone. Lots of snow mold in the yards and the trees/bushes/weeds will be starting up soon. Not excited for that either.

And all the bleach that’s being used also sucks being that I’m sensitive to it. They had to have dumped buckets of the stuff in my office over the weekend. My eyes were so itchy and burning feeling today, I honestly thought I was coming down with this stuff. 10 minutes outside of the office, eyes cleared right up.

I think the partisan split here (in general; not every single person) provides insight into other things that ought not be partisan; particularly environmental issues.

How do you explain this then? I honestly think the media and governments are overreacting and causing global anxiety.

There is definitely over reacting going on. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t very serious. I was in the same boat as you until 4 or 5 days ago. The problem is if this were allowed to be as common as the flu the deaths would likely be 10 times greater. And that’s just directly from this virus. There would be countless indirect deaths as hospitals and medical staff become overwhelmed. People with a heart attack wouldn’t have a bed, etc. Italy had to chose who to treat and who not to.

But I also think we should be allowed to live our lives a little more than what is being suggested. I don’t agree with closing down ski resorts. I’m younger, healthy, and really except for the minute or 2 in line you aren’t close to anybody. And I doubt there would be lines even if they were open anyway, most people canceled their trips to come out. Meanwhile I see public transportation and crowded lines at Costco and grocery stores that are probably worse. I think it is irresponsible for the CDC to already recommend closing school for 8 weeks. Should just recommend 2-4 and add “we’ll reevaluate near the end of that time and assess how the virus is doing.”  That is just going to add to the panic and encourage more hoarding of basic supplies.

It's Monday night and Trump still hasn't mobilized the military to construct temporary hospitals.  10/10... isn't that his self appraisal number?

I decided I’m going NHL playoff style and growing a quarantine beard for as long as this goes on. Hopefully I get to shave soon.

How isolated is everybody staying? Just members of the household? Parents? Immediate family? Close friends?

If I had my way, it would be my wife, 2 kids and that’s it. Not sure my wife will fully buy into that.

Just me, a desk at home, and 14 hours a day of work.  Should be fun.  I may go into the office if no one is there. Live a block away and just easier to focus there especially when no one is there.

I walked in today at 9:30 and had all the lights click on when I walked in.  6 people in a 2 floor humongous office.  Completely surreal and eerie.

Crazy to think this will be the new normal for at least a while.

Had my boss tell me he'll see me in 8 weeks or so.

Within a week or so, there will be no one there except me, assuming they even let people out at all soon.

    This is all completely insane.

Just me and my wife and Annie the cat.  We are going to wait five or six days to make sure we are free of symptoms and then talk about maybe getting together with a few people we know who are alone and self isolating.  Technically, we maybe shouldn't even do that but these are two women who live alone and if we wait out 5 or 6 days, I think we will be safe seeing them- but no hugs and kisses.  It has to suck being alone and isolated.  I lived that way sometimes for several days at a time for a few years when I first had hyperacusis and it was tough being alone that much of the time.

So in the meantime I call these two at least once or twice a day and check in.  If anyone knows people who are alone and in isolation, maybe reach out to them by phone when you can.

When I read thes, MayDay and bb, I thought, "Hey cool idea!  I haven't shaved in a couple days anyway so why not?"  But then as I was thinking that I noticed I was already scratching at my stubble.  Man, I hate being paranoid about everything these days but I know darn well when I have a beard, the hand goes to the face much more often.  Dang!  Guess I'll be shaving in the AM.
