    I heard testing is free for this.
    Sick time depends on employer and the person. I get 10 days a year. I switched districts this year so lost all my banked days, I have about 3 left. I would assume if I get it I get unpaid time off after I run out. That’s probably the case for most, don’t see why the government or employer needs to pay you for being sick.
    I received this email from my medical insurance provider:

    If you are advised that you need to be tested for COVID-19, be assured that Medical Mutual will cover the test as long as it is ordered by a medical provider. In addition, we are waiving copays, coinsurance and deductibles for COVID-19 diagnostic testing.

    BC being advised right now by our Health official not to travel out of Edit: country (not province) including US. Will have to isolate 14 days if we choose otherwise upon return home.

    250 or larger gatherings must be cancelled. 

    Schools not closing yet, but our 2 weeks Spring Break starts this Monday

    The fact that this is even an issue is amazing. 

    Widespread testing and case finding is crucial to manage a pandemic. There is no legitimate reason that anyone can come up with that testing would not be free.

    Just got off the the phone with my GM of BJs where I'm a food specialist. He's says we have NO paper goods, bleach, detergent and lysol for days. 

    I haven't worked in a week (minor foot surgery, birthday). He said it's worse than when we have a major hurricane heading directly at us, was unaware that the situation was so out of hand.

    In Massachusetts there is no cost to the patient. Paid time off totally varies by person/employer. Many people have sick/vacation/flex time that they'd use.

    In Massachusetts there is no cost to the patient. Paid time off totally varies by person/employer. Many people have sick/vacation/flex time that they'd use.
    I thought MA had passed a law whereas any employer with more than 10 employees had to pay or allow 5 paid sick days, track them and report it to the State on an annual basis? Did that not pass?

    Where is she returning to? In BC it is not a quarantine it is a 14 day social isolation to lesson the spread to flatten the curve so to help the health care system with their anticipated high numbers.

    Might I suggest you flag my posts so we can determine if they are fishing/trolling.

    Bernie Sanders said that he thinks the President should declare a National Emergency. This will invoke special powers. I think this would allow more power about situations over ships that fly non-US flags, such as Disney, who are not cancelling trips amidst social-distancing. 

    The cruise industry is quite relevant to the Covid discussion. I have learned that if Vancouver/Victoria shuts it's ports, that many US sailings cannot get to Alaska. This is why my upcoming US sailing (which will be postponed if it can't get cancelled) will stop in Mexico.


    I think most people here have pretty much said you should shutter the cruise.  It seems foolish.

Then Kyle wipes his nose and booger finger with the tissue I gave him and PUTS THE DIRTY TISSUE IN HIS DESK. So, yes, I'm ready for school to close.

    At this rate, it's really a matter of time before I find out I have Corona.

    I can't help laughing at this!  I think you need a Covid induced vacation. 

    So you know im in Henrico (Glen Allen).  Richmond did the same but Chesterfield and Hanover have not.  Im surprised because they're usually aligned.  I bet you guys are closed by next week.  NOVA should be worse than us due to your airports and metro alone.  We don't have that public transportation.
