i hate riding the bus home from work. I think I mentioned this already, but some idiot, knowing she was about to cough, LOOKED UP TOWARDS THE CEILING and coughed into the air. Unbelievable how fucking stupid so many humans are.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

If it's a mostly empty building you will still be self isolating.Lerxst1992 said:My company is implementing a recommended WFH beginning tomorrow.
I have a short commute and it's a fairly small office building with about 70 coworkers.
Most people will be WFH. With this place empty I'm actually considering coming in for a few days per week for faster network and printing.

Might I suggest you flag my posts so we can determine if they are fishing/trolling.
Bernie Sanders said that he thinks the President should declare a National Emergency. This will invoke special powers. I think this would allow more power about situations over ships that fly non-US flags, such as Disney, who are not cancelling trips amidst social-distancing.
The cruise industry is quite relevant to the Covid discussion. I have learned that if Vancouver/Victoria shuts it's ports, that many US sailings cannot get to Alaska. This is why my upcoming US sailing (which will be postponed if it can't get cancelled) will stop in Mexico.
Edit: (As a non-US ship leaving US ports must stop in a different country before returning to a US port.)

I would go in also when/if my office implements this. I work better sitting in the actual office. And have better equipment there for the shit I do.Lerxst1992 said:My company is implementing a recommended WFH beginning tomorrow.

I think most people here have pretty much said you should shutter the cruise. It seems foolish.tish said:

It's always interesting to me who feels more productive from home vs. office. As a nerd, I've always found my job is far easier in my own space where I can focus. If we do end up on WFH, what I'll miss most is my whiteboard, but my iPad will suffice I guess.Spiritual_Chaos said:

There's suspicion that Iran is not reporting their numbers accurately. Obviously China would be a candidate for the same.rgambs said:

Seems pretty likely. I don't mean to downplay the severity of the risk either, but to me it's very encouraging to see drastic measures being taken BEFORE the bodycount gets more extreme. The world is learning from it's mistakes faster than I would have thought possible. Taiwan learned lessons from SARS that the world will probably be remembering going forward.mrussel1 said:

While I worry about the economic repercussions, I have to hope that markets will adapt and learn to weather events like this in the future in the same way coastal markets have learned to handle hurricane crises.
