You know you’ve lost when you post garbage like this.Tim Simmons said:So they- Planned a tour
- Booked travel for the band and crew
- Tied it to a new album release date
- Promoted the tour
- Rehearsed for the tour
- Loaded up roadcases and the stage

Only to cancel it, so they could stick it to the president (well, the government generally) in 2 lines of an 18 sentence press release.
 that right?
So you’re saying they included the statement but had no intent behind it?0

Pearl Jam does not operate based on anything Post Malone or Chris Stapleton do or say. They are industry leaders for our time and will continue to set examples how, when, why and where they see fit. It does not matter if some of their fan base disagrees. It doesn't matter to them what the hell Post Malone or Chris Stapleton say, think or do.vedpunk said:Post Malone is playing a 20k arena in Austin tonight and Chris Stapleton is playing that same arena on Thursday. That's just this week.
After this is all said and done, I believe many other acts and organizations will postpone/cancel events. And when it is looked back upon, PJ will be the name people remember for once again taking the stand that they saw fit, whether it was the popular opinion at the time."A smart monkey doesn't monkey around with another monkey's monkey" - Darwin's Theory0

            I am self-quarantining myself from this thread0

Where I'm going with it is that this would be a very elaborate plan just to take "advantage of a situation" just stick it to the president.vedpunk said:Sorry not sure where you’re going with this. Maybe reread the past few pages or let it go.
 OR
Maybe this is a legitimate crises that they see as a bigger problem, and that figuring out new logistics for the tour is a secondary issue. And maybe the frustration with the former leading to the latter because of poor government planning and leadership warranted a frustrated response from the band.0

And this is to say nothing of the other accusation of saying the "liberal media" wants to tank the markets and sow discord just so Trump isn't re-elected.
And I know this should lead to AMT, but we can't just be coming in here throwing around bonkers theories because we are upset that we don't get to see Pearl Jam in the next couple weeks.

Wow, you are really reaching here...trying to spin this anyway you can to support your argument that nobody is having with you. Nobody said they created an "elaborate plan" to stick it to the President.Tim Simmons said:

Their intent was to notify fans that they postponed the tour and why. In their frustration (after seeing their community taken down by the virus) they (accurately) called out the government for lack of leadership. Thats it. 90% of the statement was not attacking the government.
Vedpunk said "they are taking advantage of the situation", meaning they are using the cancellation to stick it to the president and mentioning it in his statement. All I'm saying is, that seems like an overly elaborate way to dog the President and I think its a bonkers theory.Post edited by Tim Simmons on0

+1. I’m out. Too much insanity. It’s a fucking virus. Unless there is mandatory quarantine and lock down of travel, it is going to spread. But let’s keep the political arguments going. That will surely helpterrym08 said:

I have put a lot thought into this so bear with me. What could a fall rescheduled tour look like?Last date in Europe is July 24th, keep in mind all these dates i came up with would have the same day of week for the postponed shows. This is just to show how the fall and spring tour legs could be combined, New shows can be sold bringing in new revenue and making all of us somewhat whole. This provides the virus peaks in the US end of March.BTW no F5in ... ive had time on my hands!Maybe Canada Shows can be done in May -Apollo Show May 23rd -European Shows- June 23-July 24Start in Canada Aug 12Toronto Wednesday Aug 12Ottawa Friday Aug 14Quebec Sunday Aug 16Hamilton Tuesday Aug 18(NEW) Baltimore 1 -Friday Aug21Baltimore 2 ( Makeup) Saturday - Aug22NY-MSG (Makeup) - Monday Aug 24(NEW) NY MSG 2 Tuesday Aug 25Nashville - Thursday Aug 27St Louis - Saturday Aug 29Oklahoma City - Monday Aug 31Denver - Thursday Sept 3(NEW) Kansas City Saturday Sept 5(NEW) Minneapolis Monday Sept 7(NEW) Milwaukee Wednesday Sept 9(NEW) Chicago - Saturday Sept 11(NEW) Chicago -Sunday Sept 12(NEW) Detroit - Tuesday - Sept 14(NEW) Pittsburgh - Thursday Sept 16SEA HEAR NOW NJ Shore - Sept 19(NEW) Atlanta - Tuesday Sept 21(NEW) Dallas - Thursday Sept 23OHANA - Sunday Sept 27thLA 1 Wednesday Sept 30thLA 2 Thursday OCT 1stOAK 1 - Saturday Oct 3rdOAK 2 - Sunday Oct 4th(NEW) Portland - Tuesday Oct 6th(NEW) Tacoma - Thursday Oct 8thPhoenix - Saturday Oct 10thSan Diego - Monday Oct 12thPost edited by craigraether on0

When the Trump administration first banned flights from China, they were hysterically called "racist" by all of Eddie's media and political friends on the left...from Politico, Feb. 4:JB16057 said:"Having no examples of our national health department’s ability to get ahead of this....."Has any nation been able to get ahead of this?
"The Trump administration’s quarantine and travel ban in response to the Wuhan coronavirus could undercut international efforts to fight the outbreak by antagonizing Chinese leaders, as well as stigmatizing people of Asian descent."
Because that's what's most important, not antagonizing the Communist Chinese who lied, tried to hide it, and ultimately helped it spread around the world. Oh, and hurting people's feelings, because being racist is a way bigger deal than the spread of a deadly disease.
Look, I'm no big fan of the Stable Genius, but to claim that we didn't at least try to "get ahead of this" is asinine and ignorant.0

Or, push manufacturing new tests so that they could get out there to test people and have a policy for dealing with incoming international flights.

Have they canceled the Gigaton listening experiences? The only people we should try to get even with...
 ...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.0

Not yet. I could see that happening. But that could be on an area by area basis. Which is reasonable.

Only time will tell. The death toll in China is around 3,100. Their population is 4 times the U.S. Crudely, if we "handle" it as well as they have we should have less than 1,000 deaths. China took pretty severe measures that simply will not fly here. So we shall see. When you consider a population of 1.4 billion people and 3,100 dead, seems like all this is just insanity.0
-
Though, shouldn’t we try our hardest to prevent as many people as possible from dying?0
