Visiting family and didn’t see the game.  Losing to Miami at home is disappointing.
Long Road to the SuperBowl it is.
well, you’ve never won one without a bye.
About the only thing THEY haven’t done. 😎
I’ve never played a snap let alone go to the SB. Just the team I cheer for since they drafted Bledsoe.

When I said “long road to the SuperBowl it is” was more for the Pearl Jam reference than anything else. 🤙.

Yeah... if you noticed I didn’t say I was a “fan” of the Patriots as that is short for fanatic.  While I have a framed signed Brady jersey it honestly was more of an investment. My wife had it framed for my birthday, now I’ve got it for life 😂.

I’m really only a fan of PJ. It’s about the only thing anyone could accuse me of being fanatical about.

As for Patriots fans? Well, the newer ones can be quite obnoxious. Anyone post-2001 is quite spoiled. Admittedly, the constant hate towards Brady and Belichick gets tiresome. But I choose to ignore it.  Brady probably won’t be back next year (yes I said it) and quite honestly I think it’s time to move on. But one more SB run would be sweet, especially since no one will picking them to win it, just like 2001.

Where there is no excuse is Canucks fans. I cheer for the Nucks as I grew up in BC, but they are the worst fans. Obnoxious as hell without having ever won a damn thing. Rather embarrassing really lol.

Brady has a foot issue he's not letting on about.
Tried new cleats yesterday (who does that in week 17?) and was throwing off his back foot a lot.
He and Edelman really needed the bye week.

These nagging injuries will be more common as he ages (anyone over 40 can attest). It’s impressive how well he has played until this season but Father Time is undefeated.
I would not take the Titans lightly next Sunday.  If Henry has a big day... it could be one and done.

I just saw the last 10 minutes, not realizing I had it on the antenna and slogging through most of Eagles Giants.

I say this because I care.  Little Stevie Belichick looked like he was in way over his head.

Put your seat belt on.  This is going to be it.

  • Yup,  he goes out with a meaningless pick-6.
Really unfortunate.  But I’m looking forward to the next chapter...  Let’s see what the Hoodie has in store!

Jet fan here been since 1973 , Brady & Belechik combo has to be considered the greatest in NFL history up to this point! I I wouldn’t bet against them coming back and winning another one before they are done ...
jesus greets me looks just like me ....
  • Based on last night’s play against Seattle, Cam May get them 7. At least Kraft is around for a while longer.

Belichick is just smarter than most in the NFL. They are going to the playoffs again and here are a few teams and the qbs they decided to go with instead of Cam at league minimum:

Carolina - solid backup Teddy Bridgewater
Indy - Over the cliff Philip Rivers (For 25 million!!???!!)
Chicago - Nick Foles... who couldn’t beat out Trubisky as the starter (ouch).
Jacksonville - Gardner Minshew .... um ok.
Miami - Fitzmagic. I’ll admit I’ve always liked the guy, but wouldn’t a better mentor for Tua be a guy like Cam? Fitz is not a mobile qb.
Tampa - I’ll always be a TB12 fan, but he fell off the cliff about week 10 last year. Cam is 12 years younger. Wow
LA Chargers - Tyrod Taylor.  Lynn is a big fan for some reason.
Denver - Does anyone really believe in Drew Lock? Even if you do, wouldn’t it have been a good idea to have Cam to push him?
NY Jets - 😂 Sam Darnold is still seeing ghosts out there.  I just had to pick on the Jets, but Darnold is actually a pretty decent talent being wasted by the worst coach in recent NFL-memory. I mean worse than Freddie Kitchens or Jim Tomsula. The most amazing thing is the Jets hired him AFTER he displayed his ineptitude in Miami and he still has a job. If he makes it past the bye week I’ll be amazed.

Anyways, just another example of why BB is the best.  He wants that 7th ring... and they have as good a shot as anyone. The D will come together... Always does.

A lot can happen over the next 14 games and with all four teams having mobile, scrambling QBs, all it takes is one KAPOW and that team's fortunes sink dramatically. Seattle struggled at home against the Pats and but for a missed field goal, would have lost and KC was fortunate to get past LA. Same for Baltimore as their QB likes to run the ball as well. Regardless, if everyone stays healthy, which I hope for, those four teams will a lot of fun to watch. The Pats play both KC and Baltimore so we'll see.

What is the fourth team? The Bills?
You can talk about qbs all you want but my point was the best coach (and GM) in the league is Belichick. Everyone wrote the team off yet talked about how good the Colts would be for example with their $25 million dollar used beater of a qb.

I’m not saying they are going to win the Super Bowl. I’m saying they have as good a shot as anyone in the AFC and BB always fields a competitive team.

I don't disagree with either.  It is good to see Cam rejuvenated in NE.  And BB is the best coach all-time...
Let's not rule out Seattle in the NFC winning it all.  Anyone better than Russel at the moment?

I'm not going to dispute belichick is a master... but let's not pretend cam newton is a slam dunk franchise qb everyone missed on because they are stupid (except the jets, they're stupid).

Newton played a good few games, but still has the linings of a personality who will go off the rails and the kind of stuff belichick loathes (like that childish chain skirmish after the dolphins game).  There is also a dubious injury history and a failure to remain consistent.

Say he plays great and gets new england to an 11-5, 12-4 record.  In what is a rarity, the AFC is a gauntlet of fists, and New England hasnt been nearly as successful in winning road playoff games, especially without a bye.  Newton would command like >$30 million and teams like new Orleans, ny jets, pittsburgh, detroit, minnesota, etc might give him that and the Pats will again be looking at the sloppy seconds menu of quarterbacks via the draft.

Should have folded up the tent and tried to get Lawrence on a long-term ELC

I would have been fully on board with the Endeavor for Trevor, but Pats had too good a team to go the requisite 1-15 or 2-14, especially with 4 games against the Jets and Dolphins even with Stidham at the helm, so Bill got Cam to contend.
Now had he known he was going to have 8 opt outs including Hightower and Chung, he might have followed through on trading Gilmore at draft time (he was shopped) and not signed Newton, then maybe some creative tanking could get you into the Lawrence sweepstakes. But the opt outs happened after he had Newton and knew he was healthy...so ere we are.
Are they a Superb Owl team?
Not likely unless Mahomes gets hurt, but stranger things have happened.

Plus he really wants to catch Shula for most all time wins (I bet he wished Shula, who's hiring caused the Dolphins to be docked a draft pick for tampering, hadn't died so he could subtly rub it in his face when it happens after Shula's petty "Belicheat" comments)

He is a convicted cheater so I’d say he is being petty if he doesn’t like being called that.

agree with the post above too about Newton. Let’s hold off on the coronation just yet. Best one bad team and lost to a good team. Still lot to be determine there

The point is that Shula was a convicted cheater as well. And once his precious 72 Dolphins perfect season was threatened he had to resort to using the term Belicheat, class act that Shula.

The point is that Shula was a convicted cheater as well. And once his precious 72 Dolphins perfect season was threatened he had to resort to using the term Belicheat, class act that Shula.
Neither one of these guys are convicts.  It’s sports.... everyone cheats (bends the rules/gamesmanship/etc) and if you think otherwise you are a fool.

If a DB interferes with a receiver and prevents a touchdown, technically it’s cheating. He broke the rules of the game. It’s a spot-foul penalty, but it saved a touchdown. Happens every.single.game.

For any pro-sport athlete, coach, GM, owner to call another a cheat is hypocritical.
For any fan to call any one of them a cheater is hypocritical because they hold them to a standard higher than themselves. Joe sports fan has never cheated on their taxes? A significant other? A high school/college exam? The golf course? It’s laughable.

Except you know the Pats have been convicted and discipline now what four times for cheating. The rest of the league.....

    Nevermind.  Haters are gonna hate.
6 SB wins. 9 SB appearances in two decades, only because BB is a “cheater”.

According to this website the Pats are middle of the pack. It’s just you know, they WIN.ALL.THE.TIME

I never said they win because they cheat. What I said is correct. They have been disciplined for cheating four times during Bellicheck’s tenure. Why can’t Pats fans just admit the truth..,that they have cheated but you just don’t care because the wins justify the cheating? Is it a morality play that you won’t admit that. I’d respect Pats fans if they just admit they don’t care about cheating.  You know like Duke, Kansas and North Carolina basketball fans

Patriots fan since 1971, I'm saying the Patriots have cheated and done so repeatedly. They have been penalized for it and the team has continued forward playing the game. In that continuation they've won quite a bit in that time drawing the ire of other teams and fans. Am I bothered by the cheating yes, however no more than any fan when their team does their cheating.

That said this year for the Patriots will be very interesting since several of their defensive stars are not playing. If they can win 11 games I'd be surprised but with BB at the helmet anything is possible. The Patriots to me become more interesting when they're NOT expected to do much in the playoffs rather than being the top dog like the Chiefs.

You obviously never read my previous post on the absurdity of the “morality“ people expect of sports teams. Yet you will probably buy Nike shoes made in a sweat shop in Cambodia without batting an eye.
    It’s hypocrisy.
My next post shows THEY ALL CHEAT. Some more than others. Go to the website... educate yourself.
Then just admit because the Pats won all the time... the hate grows stronger. Meanwhile, Pats Nation laughs....and laughs... and laughs.

Pretty common saying in athletics - if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying

They all push for an edge.  The Patriots push harder, and get caught more....not much more to it than that.
