This is rich.  Obvious denigrating connotations are your specialty.  You take shots at those of us who eat meat, who don't believe that socialism is the only way, etc., etc., etc.  Hell, even just for being American because you clearly have an issue with the U.S.A.  That's okay, bro.  I'm sure most of us have thick skin and really don't care a whole lot (I certainly don't).  But don't run and hide from your daily flurry of denigrating comments.  Own them.

Thread integrity...I like America and am proud to be an American.  Many other great countries on this fine planet as well.
Well, meat eaters support the slaughter of living creatures for (in the western world) completely un-needed reasons. So I think they deserve a shot or two. Never unfounded to my recollection though. How could it be?

When would I have been taking shots at people "who don't believe socialism is the only way"? I'm not a socialist. So that would be foreign to me. Maybe you have a bit of preconceived notions against me (or Swedes - who knows) seeping in here?

Thread integrity - I like Americans. If other countries are looked on as "great" (for the environment, for animals, for it's citizens well being) - America in far too many ways are "lagging behind in their journey to great" for a western democracy. And for a country who looks at itself as "great".

Well, you obviously support Burger King (even though you eat their fake meat burgers), which in turn supports “the slaughter of living creatures” as meat is probably 95% of their menu...
I, for one, do not eat at Burger King or hardly any fast food joints, so (by proxy) you technically support mass slaughter houses more than I do as almost all of the food I eat comes from hunting, my family’s small ranch, local markets , or my garden.

How does that taste with your tofu?

I’d be willing to bet that there was a bit of horse meat in the vegi burger SC ate at Burger King:

And for everyone else, this is why fast food places are gross:

Why do you want to turn this thread into a "I love murder" thread? If you wanna discuss your love of murder, how about starting an "I <3 murder"-thread instead and have the discussion there?

But before, I recommend you take a short nap (put on My Morning Jacket - Live at Okonokos maybe) to get your logic back in check. It's seems a bit off. Maybe it's due to stress. And then, don't look back in anger. I heard her say.

My logic is off?  You are the one that literally doesn’t understand the definition of a legal term-“murder”.  I do not not support “murder”, but I do support the humane harvesting of animals for eating.  Here you go, so you are not confused anymore (although I do not think it will help matters):

Okey, reread my post - but replace "I love murder" with "I love de facto murder"

Now go start that thread instead of blabbering in here.

Okay, I can at least agree that fast food places are gross.

Should we assume that you made the comment about "horse meat in the vegi burger" for the lols? Because of course the vegetarian patties are not being made in the same factory as the meat patties.

But in a larger sense, it seems hypocritical to be totally fine with eating cows, pigs, deer, and whatever other animals it is that you hunt, but be grossed out by horse meat. What is biological difference there?

I’m not really grossed out by horse meat per se, but more the grinding up of everything and anything (additives, etc) in a patty.  Hope that clears that up ;).  And are you sure those Burger King employees change their gloves between the handling of horse burgers and vegi-burgers?  My experience with the food industry tells me otherwise.  Same reason almost all foods say “may contain traces of...” on the warming labels, lol

Nope, I choose to replace it with “I love eating steak”.
Thanks for the suggestion, though!  /s

Cowboy cut rib eye from Perry's in Austin might be the best steak I ever had.

You haven’t had one cooked by me, haha. I have heard good things about Perry’s, though.  I may have to swing by and try one on my next Austin trip.

In my experience, it's difficult to get any home equipment hot enough to really cook a steak like a steakhouse.  If you get close, kudos to you.

It takes some practice, but I have that :). Important thing is high quality meat.  Doesn’t matter how you cook it, if it is gristly meat, it will be sub par.  That is where I luck out being from a long line of ranchers!  Funny enough, though, many steak houses just use griddles.  Get a cast iron griddle and put it over a fire or stove burner and you can achieve “steak house quality” pretty easily.  I prefer mine grilled, though, but I just like the grilling too...especially with a good American craft beer in one hand ;)

Ooops!!!  “You can’t tell the difference”, lol. Maybe they should start putting more broccoli in it so that people can tell the difference.  I’m not so sure I would like the idea of “things that taste like meat”.  If I eat a vegi-burger, I would actually rather it taste like vegetables...but maybe that’s just me.  Would anyone ever eat a beef burger seasoning to taste like a vegetable?  I think not...

Or maybe.....you dress the veggies with a burger...?  Do people put lettuce and tomatoes on a vegi burger?  That just seems redundant.
