I always thought that you "plead guilty", but that the declaration of guilt is a "guilty plea".
and what about plea or plead the fifth?

I tried looking it up but gave up after a brief search. If and when I have time, I may follow up.

I think it was mickyrat that originally asked the question and it piqued my interest. Was it plea? Or plead? Question of the century and I’ll leave no stone unturned dammit.

I'm glad some of you still have faith that impeachment or resignation is still possible (although, as I've said before, the alternative- that is, PENCE- is just as bad in other ways).  This issue had dragged on for so long, I just get the feeling it will drag on until 2020 and then maybe, just maybe, we'll have a decent president again.

...that said, while I could nitpick issues where Pence is worse, with Pence we immediately lose the dedicated following that might enable the dynastic dictatorship the Trumps want.  Trump is far, far more dangerous.

My issue with Mike Pence (besides the fact that he endorsed a bill that would allow guns to be kept in vehicles on school property, turned his back on parts of East Chicago in need of funding to remove lead and other toxins, is homophobic, and has been unhelpful toward school funding, among other things) is that he knows how to work the system.  Trump does not.  Trump is transparent.  Pence is more opaque, far more apt to pass legislation that is harmful to the environment and opposed to women's rights to their own body, and so forth.

I’m not sure. One came before Obama and one after and both of them through that lens? Maybe it depends on where you live or lived?

I keep seeing pleaded guilty when I keep thinking it should be plead guilty. I must be wrong, but I still don’t like pleaded.
“Pleaded” feels like your speaking with a mouth full of marbles.

By 1000 percent. Bush was an idiot and puppet but at least he understood our system. This fucker cares nothing about the checks and balances or the rule of law.

That is BS...that asshole went out of his fucking way not to mention the help that the wonderful people of Gander NFLD and other Canadian cities provided in sheltering 1000's of stranded travellers who's planes were diverted after 911.  In his 9/20 speech, he mentioned countries like Iran and Egypt and others but never mentioned Canada...he is a vindictive bastard that should be on trial for his war crimes...he did not get around to thanking us until 2004.

Trump is a disgusting human being no doubt...but Bush's war has lead to the death and destruction in far too many places for him to be worse than Trump...but we all know that it is all right for the US to chaos and destruction in the world...as long as everything is nice a cozy in the good ole US of A...Trump's presidency will just be a blip...what has gone on the last 20 years in the middle east is horrible and Bush is responsible and anyone else who voted for that war as well.

Using 9/11 as a reason to invade a country, is not the same as that country having things to do with 9/11 warranting an unjust war.

The then United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan said in September 2004 that: "From our point of view and the UN Charter point of view, it [the war] was illegal."
