 but he's trying.
I knew he was unqualified. That's where "b" comes in. I knew given his history of not really having to work for anything and being surrounded by yes-men, he'd struggle mightily with procedure, checks & balances, and bureaucracy. But like you, I did not really think he'd be able to do more damage than the typical republican. I don't know why, but I did not realize that he would make everything about him...that his entire job would be about his fragile ego. I did not realize that he would be indifferent to the country and people he's supposed to serve. I did not realize that his frustration of having to navigate resistance would essentially make him decide that being a dictator is easier...and I REALLY did not appreciate that the GOP would be all in on that; that we were that deep in the Team Red / Team Blue pit. So NOW, the sky is falling for me. If he wins in 2020, I think we're looking at full-fledged authoritarianism. And not "patriot act"-level; more like Donald Trump, Jr. being "installed" instead of "elected" president. People being arrested for tweeting bad things about him. Roberts court upheld Obamacare....
You think the SCOTUS will be complicit in a cover up of Trump being compromised and working with Russia? You REALLY think the Supreme Court will help cover up Donald fucking Trumps tracks? C'mon homie
“There was no collusion.””I don’t know any Russians.”
 ”I have nothing to hide.”
”I’ll sit down and talk to anyone.”
”We do everything by the book.”“Only the guilty plea the fifth.”“Very legal, very cool.”“Fully exonerated.”Follow the money, from Russia with love and a PTape, all the way to impeachment.

what's the question again? ask me the exact question you want answered detective, I wont take the fif

No. I voted for Hillary Rodham Clinton. I dedicated the vote to my late grandmother whose father told her that going to college was for boys. I stayed awake until 4am in shock of the outcome.for your records, detective, he is my POTUS voting record. 1996 - William J Clinton 2000 - Al Gore 2004 - John Kerry (Voted for Dennis Kucinich in the primary) 2008 - Barack H Obama (Also voted for him in the primary) 2012 - Barack H Obama 2016 - Hillary R Clinton (Voted for Bernie in the primary) next question
I kinda saw it coming for weeks and I went to bed at roughly the usual time and did not lose much sleep.
honestly, as my2hands often says, at that point, for me, the sky really was falling. it took some time for me to be convinced that, while he would be a terrible president and set awful policies, no one man can destroy the country.
 but he's trying.
Mussolini-level, not GWB-level.

well I'm confident that just can't and won't happen.OnWis97 said:
Funny. I was the opposite. I knew Hillary's 25 or so years of being hated were going to hurt her and I never felt very confident. But the sky was not falling for me that night because a) checks and balances, b) let's see who Trump surrounds himself with, and c) he has some history of being a Democrat. I actually thought he might stab his faithfuls in the back.HughFreakingDillon said:
I didn't. i was in total disbelief. I was 100% convinced i was about to see something historic, the first woman US president, and that smug prick get the drubbing he deserved and then slink back into his hole.OnWis97 said:
Generally speaking, being a pessimist does not serve me well but it sure did that night.HughFreakingDillon said:
