Did she survey her community before casting the "we" vote?0

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was the lone House Democrat to vote against a bill to reopen the government on Wednesday, a position she described as “a tough/nuanced call,” The Hill reported.
The short-term measure included funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which Ocasio-Cortez explained in an Instagram story is opposed by many people she represents.
“Most of our votes are pretty straightforward, but today was a tough/nuanced call,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “We didn’t vote with the party because one of the spending bills included ICE funding and our community felt strongly about not funding that.”

The devil is in the details but her head and her heart are in the right place. I’ve always wondered why the likes of Exxon/Mobil haven’t diversified their energy production.

She will be a wave of the future and I'd like to see younger people get elected so let's see.

AOC...not so much.hippiemom = goodness0 -
Interesting that AOC turned down this appointment. Is it because it doesn't have legislative or subpoena power? Is it because Pelosi refused the "requirement" that no one on the committee may have taken energy contributions? Ideological purity always makes me nervous. Better to have a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.

She is not doing what I would hope a Congress person would do. Of course, the precedent was set by the republicans of not compromising on Obama agenda. But she seems to be following suit in the no compromise all or none bullshit line of thinking.hippiemom = goodness0 -
