    I agree with you unfortunately. And this is why the next generation will be socially awkward and only able to communicate by tapping their thumbs against a screen. They won’t be able to carry on a normal conversation. There’s my old-fashioned thinking again, damn it!

    Yep. I was thinking about my nephew who is actually IS in middle school, and I know that he wouldn't ask someone out on a date like that either. That said, we can't say this isn't a legit way for some people to go. Like, take very very shy people... They might not ever ask anyone out on a date ever if they rule out doing it by text. I'm not overly judgemental about this one. Ultimately it's up to the person being asked to decide if that is acceptable to them or not.
