I regret that John McCain didn’t live long enough to see Trump go to prison so he could say “I like presidents who don’t get captured” on national TV then high five everyone in the studio.

I regret that he wasn't charged with treason for starting the fake dossier.

How would he be able to high five everyone, when he couldn't raise his hands after his time as prisoner of war?

Why can people not speak ill of the dead?  There nothing special about McCain.  His votes in senate lead to misery around the world.  This man is in a party that does need see health care a human right, not that the democrats do either ...

As a former soldier, it unconscionable that he didn't stand up against war...
He did stand up against different methods of interrogation techniques and regretted his decision to support the war in Iraq.

    Nice words from President Bush:
“Some lives are so vivid, it is difficult to imagine them ended. Some voices are so vibrant, it is hard to think of them stilled. John McCain was a man of deep conviction and a patriot of the highest order. He was a public servant in the finest traditions of our country. And to me, he was a friend whom I’ll deeply miss. Laura and I send our heartfelt sympathies to Cindy and the entire McCain family, and our thanks to God for the life of John McCain.”

It seems that calling people “angry” is the new insult or go to retort. It’s not like anyone has threatened to shoot the place up or anything but in America that seems to be a perfectly reasonable way to express one’s anger.

Perhaps it’s becoming a frequent response because people on the internet are becoming increasingly hostile.  I mean, in this thread alone we have people spewing hatred towards a dead guy.  You really don’t think the internet as a whole and this forum have become increasingly hostile? I mean it’s no where near the levels of of few old posters that are no longer around from the Bush era, but it seems to be increasingly hostile to me.

No mandated universal system; no mandated insurance coverage

McCain says he thinks affordable health care can be made available to all Americans without a mandated universal system. McCain said that he doesn’t think government-run systems such as those in Canada and in Europe will succeed in the US. “I think it’s a warmed-over proposal that we rejected back in the early 1990s and I’m certainly not interested in raising people’s taxes,” McCain said, adding he also is opposed to requiring everyone to buy health insurance coverage. “We’ve got to make health care affordable and available. There’s plenty of ways to do that.“
He said he’s been working on a plan ”for a long time“ but ”it’s a very tough issue.“ One way, he said, would be to expand community health centers and the S-CHIP program, offer tax incentives for poor people, put health care online, medical malpractice reform and promote health savings accounts. However, he said, one problem getting everyone covered ”is there’s a lot of healthy Americans that say I just don’t want health insurance.

This man had universal coverage paid for by YOU.  And he doesn't think YOU should have universal coverage.
    Isn’t that every politician?
You must really hate Obama then. I mean, he gets full health care and makes healthy people pay more.
Okay, so you don’t like the man. Let him die in peace.

Go back to the last page of the AMT and work back. God, the old days were much more vitriolic than now. It just seems that calling somebody “angry” is the new insult or comment because you (not you personally) don’t like what they posted or how they responded. I don’t quite get the hatred for McCain and making him out to be the cause for all of the US’ past wars. Was he a war hawk? Sure. But he was one of 100 in the senate and one of a million in Vietnam. My shooting comment is that in America it seems that a whole lot of people seem to express their anger, at whatever it is that pisses them off, by shooting some place up and the country as a whole just shrugs and goes, ho him. Maybe 40 hours of anger management classes before you can buy a gun is in order?

The inter webs is a cesspool. Read the article I linked in the repub(e) thread. All those women did was run for office. Team Trump Treason meets with the Q founder and white nationalists. Let that sink in.

What an apathetic and ignorant thing to say; as though you have any insight to the psychological transformations which occur to prisoners of war? It’s possible he came back with a different perspective on the necessity of war than the perspective you arbitrarily deem correct (and I say this as a pacifist to my core).

And if he was truly an idiot, what does that say about the nation which across the political spectrum admired him until the day he died?

A counter-argument: Perhaps you’re not as smart as you think.

That’s fair. It is annoying when the people that make and write the laws write themselves great pensions and health care while they’re at it.

Who was more dead wrong (no pun) in this "interview" about Iraq, Hannity or McCain?
It's difficult to be more dead wrong than Hannity!
    Thoughts?

That is a also a good point about pensions and salaries.  I'm not a huge fan of the pensions politicians have given themselves.  As for the healthcare, other than the PM and maybe some cabinet ministers ... I'm quite confidant that my MP will wait in the ER just like I have to if I ever have to go...

By the way, nice comments from Bush should mean nothing more than if Manson had something nice to say ... both evil, 1 gets the protection of the presidency to conduct his evil shit on people...

None of know John McCain on a personal level, and therefore have no right to speak of him on that level.

What we know is his public life, and his actions that he took as Senator.

So we have the right to criticize everything he did at that capacity, and now the timing is more important than ever.  He doesn't get a pass or a grace period for the criticism not to be given because right now everyone is telling us how he was a hero, and he couldn't have been further from that.  We can't allow a false narrative to be written.
