Basically you said it better than I could have, oftenreading. I was just treading carefully there in case I was offending one of his supporters here.

I voted Trump.  I knew he was an idiot.  I knew he had serious character flaws.  I somehow figured he would curb his ways a bit once he was finally in the White House, I was wrong.  Do I regret it at times, certainly.  Would I vote for Hilary if I had to do it over.  Absolutely Not.

I really don’t see how thinking Clinton was worse will hold up over time.

I think my biggest surprise is how stupid he seems. I thought most of the gibberish he spouted on the campaign trail was to just "identify with the commoners". Turns out he's actually the lowest common denominator. And that's scary, especially since all his decisions seem to be based on the last person he speaks to.

there are parts of me that occasionally think "ok, but this is just how it is during a republican presidency; the media on the left is always in meltdown mode". It can't be "BREAKING NEWS" 24/7, but somehow it is. But he is unhinged.

if he wasn't on twitter.....this wouldn't be a fraction as bad as it seems/is now. he just loves to throw fuel on the fire.
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

    HFD

^^^^^^^ and I’ve probably forgotten 3/4s to 7/8s of the shit I’d point out.

Or I could just go to YouTube and post a video of a madlib going off the rails rather than formulate and express my original opinion. Which would you prefer?

I never supported him becoming the President in the first place. But also I'm not from the U.S.A so I was just casually observing the shit show unfold.
What shit show has unfolded from an international point of view?
He conducts himself poorly when meeting with other politicians, he insults people, he mischaracterizes (or maybe just outright lies) about policy, legislation, trade issues and the like, and in general is viewed as childish.
There have been a number of international embarrassments. We have lost our standing as a world leader in various organizations. Merkel and Macron have assumed that role for the West. Trump has no understanding of treaties or agreements previously made, as evidenced in phone calls he has had with world leaders. He was embarrassing when talking with the President of Mexico and the Prime Minister of Australia early on. See here for an overview - there also a link to the WaPo where the transcripts can be read. The State Department has many unstaffed, important positions unfilled, and we've completely neglected our relationships internationally. Trump has repeatedly insulted our allies overseas, and is trying to start trade wars with our most important trade partners. He is damaging trade relationships with our 2 North American neighbors. He has become a laughing stock (and consequently so has our country) throughout the world. He picks petulant, juvenile fights with an impotent North Korea, yet wants to be buddies with a dangerous former KGB operative who is openly hostile to our country.  I'm sure outsiders looking in are astonished that someone so kooky and inept could ascend to the presidency of the US.

I think Drumpf has been way more damaging to our country than I ever imagined. I thought he'd just be an idiot, we'd have a few laughs, and we'd elect a real leader next time. But he has been an abortion and I sure wish we didn't have to wait until "next time". Hopefully these mid-term elections change the balance of power in Congress and he can be properly and quickly disposed of.

My biggest surprise is how indifferent he is to the welfare of the people/country he's supposed to be serving.  Going in I thought he was kinda dumb, but I did not realized what a narcissist he was.  "What a crowd!" "I'd have run in there without a gun." "My reality show was more successful than his."  Everything seems to be about his ego. I honestly think that through all of this, he's indifferent toward the country.  His supporters like to say "FINALLY a president who loves America" (gee I wonder what that's based on) but, remembering back to Reagan, I think this is the first president who doesn't.  He's not trying to destroy America.  But I'm not convinced he's not trying to not destroy America.

Come back George Bush, all is forgiven. At this stage I'd welcome that motherfucker who bought the Wu Tang Clan album. Well, maybe not quite.
Haha, that dude was just told by a judge that he has to hand over that Wu Tang Clan album - he isn't allowed to keep it or sell it because of his crimes.

he is actually worse than i thought he would be. i thought he would surround himself with people who know the ropes and people that he would listen to and people that would check him if he did something stupid. i thought the congressional gop would keep him in check. instead they let him to fuckall whatever he wants and still support him.

man, the term comedy of errors does not even scratch the surface when describing this administration. the degree of criminal activity is beyond comprehension and it is something that nobody has ever seen before. in the end bobby 3 sticks is going to bring this whole thing to a spectacular end. i just hope it is not too late when he does.

How is it that we've gone from a president who couldn't compose one well constructed sentence in 8 years to one who was so well spoken and intelligent, to one who is so un-presidential in so many ways it boggles the mind?  What kind of wacky schizoid country are we?

Why do you ask?  Just to bait someone into saying yes, then they can get flamed...

By the way I don't support Trump, or any politician for that matter...all politicians are crooked and leach off the productivity of others..

But I do support his renegotiating of free trade, I was hoping he'd scrap it, doubt that'll happen, the US corporations will get to him.

I also support his stance on tariffs on steel...

Canadian CEO supports Trump's steel tariffs, wishes they were even higher

If that’s directed at me, I asked because I’m genuinely interested in whether Team Trump Treason supporters have buyer’s remorse or not. Have you seen any flaming thus far?

As others have stated Trump is actually worse than I thought he would be.  His insults and man child behavior are very scary.  Calling ANYTHING that disagrees or paints him in a bad light fake news reeks of a dictatorship.  He the worst.  The turnover in his administration says it all.

I didn't vote for Trump.  And I wouldn't vote for him today.

I did, however, have some hope that he would dial it back, use a business approach (not emotion) and allow us to move forward on t=some issues that had stalled for DECADES due to partisan politics.  I thought he would not bring an Us-Them attitude.  More of a Trump vs them all attitude.  But unfortunately, it seems that while at times he appears to be the middle voice...he always bends to the christian conservative side.  And in some cases, he is stuck in 1950's thought.  I do think we needed tax reform...but all we got was a weird tax break...not reform.  I do think we needed comprehensive immigration reform.  But what we got was enforcing the currently law, but based on a situation of decades of not enforcing it it should have been fixed for today's environment.  Lots of failures.  And Gun safety will be the next failure of Trumps.  To be fair, in most of these cases, I consider a lot of past politicians to have failed as well.  But Trump has brought a new personal low of name-calling, sexism, and racism to go along with his failure.  Yuck.

If the election was tomorrow, there are very few people I would not vote for instead of Donald Trump.  I still wouldn't vote for Trump, but in some cases I just wouldn't vote.

Well the Russians who helped him get the job still support him, I don't doubt.
How anybody who isn't anti-America could support him I don't know.

    You are genuinely interested?

    I haven't read every post.

But its almost a certainty if someone truly genuinely supports Trump (they will be flamed)

I don't support trump, but some policies I get being, like re-negotiating free trade, and definitely support increased tariffs on steel.

He is worse than George Bush the 2nd.  How long was W president before he committed young men and woman to go fight a war and die in these wars  over oil?  So far Trump hasn't invaded anyone yet...thats a plus...

So you support steel tariffs as does Team Trump Treason. Care to explain how and why that’s good for US consumers? Team Trump Treason’s trade policy guy, forgot his official title, resigned because he disagreed with the tariffs. A name to replace him has been floated, Kudlow, a CNBC economic talking head. He also opposes tariffs. How do you square that? And do you really believe a trade war headed up by Team Trump Treason is any match for the Asian, EU and other NAFTA representatives? This is an Administration that put a 24 yo with no previous experience in charge of addressing the opioid crisis. We’re about to get our clocks cleaned.

I voted for him and there have been many times that I wish I hadn't and just didn't vote for either.  I despise Hillary and hoped after she got beat by Obama she was done.  I supported and voted for Kasich during the primaries and really hoped he had won.  Like others I thought once in office Trump would surround himself with knowledgeable smart people and actually act presidential.  Boy was I wrong!

I'm really worried for the 2020 election.  I have no idea who is going to win the ticket for the Democrats but hopefully its someone who can swing the pendulum to get  some republican votes.  Maybe we'll get lucky and Trump won't run for a 2nd term.  Maybe some of you can answer this but can the sitting President be denied the chance to run for a second term?  Can the Republican party put someone up against him to try and get him out?

he can be primaried, but it's rare. it's only happened once or twice in history. and he is running. he's already submitted the paperwork and is actively campaigning. of course, he may change his mind, or might choke to death on a KFC double down, but we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, I think an incumbent can be ousted in a  primary but I can't think of a time it has happened.  If Trump manages to hold the office the full four years, I could see this happening to him.  Fairly big IF as far as making it the full four years though.
