Wrong professor. I do believe Bush and Cheney are war criminals. I never equated previous US policy with Putin's Russia. However, that said, past US policy has an ugly underbelly and is not without consequences. The ugly side of which neocons deny, sugarcoat or ignore because the US was "great." Go ahead and defend the list of US actions in the 54 or so countries that we fucked with. And if US policy was so great, why doesn't Canada replicate it in their foreign policy?BS44325 said:
Are you joking? You believe Bush and Cheney are war criminals. You have the same view on Iraq that Trump does (so he says). When O'Reilly called Putin "a killer" and Trump said "is the US any better?" that was straight out of the Halifax/Polaris view of American history. It's an indefensible position that you have defended since day one on these boards.Halifax2TheMax said:

I don't think anybody has successfully called me out yet. I also have only spent my time defending the defensible. What I find "indefensible" is when Trump goes all Halifax/Polaris by comparing Putin's actions to previous US actions...that shit's just insane. Do I still think he's "brilliant"? Hmmm...I flip flop back and forth on that everyday. I mean clearly he is "brilliant" but what I an interested is in results and the two don't always go hand and hand. That being said I believe he is playing his cards right to have the best chance at achieveing results. It should be an Internet mandate that if you are posting something negative about the intelligence of others, what you're posting better not have any sort of spelling or grammatical error anywhere. GF would have like 7 posts on this forum after all his years here.0 -

No I'm not frustrated. I was frustrated with the last 8 years.
I'm happy with the way things turned out.
Would have preferred Cruz or Rubio.
But Trump over Hillary is a win for me.
It stopped our descent.
Delusional was thinking that Barak was the savior.0 -
Ughhhh....but he did save our country in many ways. (It's "Barack" by the way) How in fact are we worse off now than 8 years ago? Stock market? No combat troops in Iraq? Insurance access to all?
I will give you the police/African American relations. Is it Obama's fault? Not really. That's been boiling over for decades and it fell apart on Obama's watch.0 -
The Venezuela reference is a fun one. I love how conservatives think we can turn into that country, or Greece, but mention a European country with a decent single payer system, and then they start talking about how we couldn't do it because the US is too large and it would be way more difficult and complicated than some little country.RYME said:Barak Obama and the Hilda were trying to turn this country into Venezuela. Along with the rest of the interesting article I found this to stick out more.
The Japanese government is trying to deepen ties with the United States while carefully watching who has been trusted, who is powerful, and who will take the reins of Asia policies.
Abe was offered an unprecedented level of red-carpet treatment when Trump accommodated him, including a summit meeting, joint press conference and Air Force One flight to Trump’s Florida villa for a round of golf.

Maybe there is more of a collective threat from those countries combined than the one that is not on the list and has committed the most recent terror attacks.

I thought Trump was very critical of our intelligence community in the weeks leading up to office. Strange...inconsistent messaging from the Right... You should send a thank you card to Obama for keeping your ass safe when Bush didn't.RYME said:

The right flank thinks we were turning into Venezuela. The left flank believes we are run by globalist capitalist pigs. As a man in the middle, this means Obama was doing something right. And I think all of our market investments would probably reinforce that belief.RYME said:Barak Obama and the Hilda were trying to turn this country into Venezuela.
