Entered the zone that is known as Beast Mode today. Hit 200 lbs on the machine bench press (highest weight achieved for upper body) and finally did a continuous 2 mile run! I had been trying to get to 2 miles for about 3 weeks. Now just have to see if I can consistently get there. On such an endorphin high right now! I will probably be dead to the world in a couple of hours.

Hope my good workout energy gives you all the momentum you need to reach your next goal/milestone.

    Great job!
It took me a couple weeks too, a couple weeks later and it was no big deal! If I go 12 minute miles I could go all day, but I never have more than a half hour to run so I have whittled it down to 8 minute miles.

    Thanks!

8 minute mile is impressive. I would love to get there eventually. I am at 12 minute miles now. Every time I try to bump up the speed, I tire out too quickly. Just gotta keep at it I guess.

I used the stationary bike today. I was thinking about the 8 minute-mile. I have never come close to that, but wouldn't it be great if I could do it? It would be the best thing in my life if I could do that. I didn't think it was possible that I could do it, but I'm a little stronger in spirit, than I was 10 years ago when I was running more regularly. Talk about all of those fears sliding off in my sweat. It would be something, that's for sure. Maybe I should start with a 9 minute mile and go from there. 9 minute mile would be great, too. I haven't come close to that either. 9:50 ish on a treadmill was my fastest. I could either crash through my fears or find new ones in the process. Kind of cool!

I'm feeling tired just thinking of it. Life, it's crazy with opportunities.

I was at 9 for 4 weeks, and I just shaved it down a little at a time. I usually do a 10 minute mile to warm up and then I just run as hard as I can for the second mile and I am coming in around 8:10 to 8:20 now. I can't wait for a day when I can run as long as I can, I have no idea how long I could go, I only ever have 30 minutes.

food wise I have been bad this weekend! While I'm sipping a whiskey ginger! Back on the horse tmr!

    Better than beer.

really? Cause I think this has a lot of sugar! lol...Anyway I've been sick with Strep so I have not been eating regularly....antibiotic finally kicking in! Weigh in tmr morning and I have a good week of healthy foods planned.
Use diet ginger ale (if that's what you mean by ginger) next time. A highball with diet soda is only about 85 calories! Of course, alcohol actually stops fat burning. Your liver can't do both at once, so when you drink, weight loss isn't happening even if it is low calorie drinking.

PS - if anyone wants advice on weight loss, calorie burning, optimal heart rates, and basically all things to do with fat burning and how to burn it fastest, easiest, long or short term, with or without work out routines, optimal routines for fat burning and muscle growth, just ask. My ex got into body building when we were together, and became obsessive, so I know everything about it, lol. :weary:

Given to Fly played on the iPod while sweating it out on the treadmill today and first thing I thought of was this thread. That's such a great song to run to. Anyways, keep up the great work everybody!

PJ,we learn something new about you everyday.I like it.

I also live in that world.
Its true.Body builders know the chemistry, the physical and hormonal responses. Its an art form.
I'm not crazy fanatical about my training schedule and food intake, but some buddies at the gym who are competing IFBB pros know more about this stuff then a lot of DRs.

I still think the single biggest thing is dietary intake and then Hormonal balancing of Testosterone and Estrogen for both men and women. Most men from mid 30s on are walking around with low T and high Estrogen levels.Very unhealthy for long term medical shit, but also body composition and stamina.
Everyone should have a blood test 2 times a year at minimum to check these levels as well as liped panels and The usually blood markers. Can make a huge difference in your life.

I ran 3.5 miles, walked 1.5 miles, did 3 hours of manwork, 2 hours of house chores, ate 7 pieces of pizza, drank moonshine, and passed the peace pipe by the fire yesterday... That's a good Saturday!

Except that pizza tore a hole in the spacetime fabric of my diet universe, and now I want to eat everything that exists.
    Oh well, soldier on!
I was at under 1000 net calories twice this week so I should be at the big 20lbs lost! but I didn't get to weigh in.

I had a bit of an off week. Thankfully I didn't gain, but i didn't lose either!

Prepping for the week. Went to Costco and got meat...lots of meat! Packing, labeling and freezing today. Making a chili, cutting up veggies. Making my plan of attack :-)
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

I can definitely tell the lifting is working. Been at for just over a year and I am much stronger and getting better muscle definition. I would much rather lift than run, so there's no way I'm cutting that out! I just do the cardio to help expedite calorie loss.
