wow what an unbelievable show last night. theres not much that i can say that hasn't already been said on here. it was great hearing ed talk about the hershey 03 concert and the girls mosquito bites, if you were at hershey you know what he's talking about. it was just an incredible show. the man trilogy was awesome and there is no better closer than RITFW and yellow ledbetter. i always thought hard to imagine was a decent song until i heard it last night, it really blew me away live. alone was great to hear too and of course crown of thorns was pretty rare also. it was great to see the band so into the show, they looked like they were really having a great time. the crowd was great although i don't think it matched the crowds in canada, but thats just my opinion, it definitley didn't take anything away from the great show that pearl jam put on as always. it was also great to hear ed talk about the phillies, that was good stuff. what a show.2003: Hershey

I loved this show from top top bottom, my favorite part was hard to imagine.
Was I hallucinating or did they play something for like half a minute in song format. Mentioning the sun and its shadows. I thought maybee this was part of the new song. Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.

I think the song you might be referring to is "Modern Girl" by SK....

My 10c seats at the Spectrum were in the section right next to the stage (Mike's side) about 12 rows up!!!!! Man do I wish I had those seats last night!!!!!!!! I didn't have 10c last night either...I was in section 103!DC 6/14/98

my seats were good considering my 10C # (353XXX)... 114 row 16 had a nice view of the stage and basically at the back of the front floor sections... so I was happyThis is your notice that there is a problem with your signature. Please remove it.

vedderwood wrote:Can you imagine where your 10c seats would have been for Philly with a 181xxx number? My number is 202xxx and I'm so curious as to where my seats would have been if I got them through 10c! I had INCREDIBLE seats for the 2003 Philly Spectrum show (10c seats), but we all know that the Spectrum is smaller than the Center!
I'm trying to think of WHY I could not get 10club seats for last night. Maybe they were on sale when I was at work and I was scared to do that at work. Is a NO NO.
My 10club seats at Pittsburgh 2003 were ok, kind of high up on stone's side but we had our own potty and own food vendors (i think they were club seats but not as nice as our club seats last night) but DEFINITELY closer in Pittsburgh.9/98, 9/00 - DC, 4/03 - Pitt., 7/03 - Bristow, 10/04 - Reading, 10/05 - Philly, 5/06 - DC, 6/06 - Pitt., 6/08 - Va Beach, 6/08 - DC, 5/10 - Bristow, 10/13 B'more

Section 103 last night was not bad at all!! I would never, ever complain about the location because I had worse seats in Reading last year and it was to date one of my most favorite PJ shows ever! But as I've been saying everywhere, I just wanted to be closer to the 10c sections just to be closer to diehard fans! I wouldn't care if the 10c section were in the 200 levels and that's where my seats were....I just wanted to be with other diehards! But the show last night was priceless....just absolutely amazing!DC 6/14/98

Just curious - why would you need CD-boots when you have the mp3s? If you're worried about the gaps between songs, use a good burning software like Nero to cut out the clips and have a short crossfade between the songs. They include disc and cover labels with the downloads, so it's easy to burn and create your own.0 -
steve butabi wrote:I had section 124 row 5, fan club # 318,XXX. I liked it better then the floor at the Borgata for the sight lines, but I liked the Borgata for the old GA feel. I felt bad going nuts in the seats worrying if I was going to hit someone in front of me. No incidents so everything was fine. I thought the show was great as well, but the sound was distorted. I didn't really notice it until after the amp blew up during Crazy Mary. I am just curious if that had something to do with it.
My only complaint was when two guys crashed our row and felt we didn't need the space our seats gave us. Why do people think they can share seats? It is bad enough dancing around in the alloted space the seats give us but when someone bogarts on that space it makes even harder to go spastic with out bothering other fans. Just go to the seats you got and better luck next time. Thanks to John for taking care of those lost boys.
It was good to meet some fellow jammers. I hope to meet some more on the next tour.
I was in the same section, and the same row, and I know exactly what you're talking about. I was so crushed for space by the first encore. I was still trying to jump around like crazy but i didnt want to hurt anybody or ruin anyone's night. It was so awesome seeing so many jammers...high fiving people I'd only met that night, going nuts when the rare ones came on and hearing other people go the same amount of nuts around you because they understood the music. No intruders will stop me from having a good time, though they made it a little less easy. Thank you 10 Club and thank you pearl jam!331xxx

We hit the second night at Borgata...and, unfortunately, missed out on this show because I had already booked our flight before they anounced it. I'm disappointed we didn't make it, especially now that I got into a wreck last night at the airport upon leaving
I could have been getting jacked up for another PJ show.

DerekLee1 wrote:I'm kinda surprised that you were at both Borgata shows and still call Philly the best you've ever been to. I thought the Philly show was fine, but aside from a handful of rarities, everything else was a repeat from the Borgata shows. How can Wachovia compare to seeing them in a venue the size of a high school auditorium? Friday's Borgata had to be the best ever.
I beg to differ on the 'handful of rarities' comment. At the Philly show, they played Wash, Sad, Alone, Leatherman (and the man trilogy), Bleed For Me, Around the Bend, Harvest Moon, Hard To Imagine, Crown of Thorns, Sonic Reducer, Little Sister, etc. Like Sadprofessor said, it was a gift to the fans.
You are right in that the Wachovia can't touch the Borgata experience - the very intimate venue and the incredible sound. But the setlist in Philly was truly amazing, and when it's all said and done, the songs are the main factor in my decision for favoring one show over another.
Also, there were a lot of drunken meatheads at the Borgata. For example, on Sat night one fucker was moshing and kept bumping into my wife and I. I eventually grabbed him by the shirt and told him to WATCH IT, and he then had his buddy punch him in the chest about 25 times while he yelled out "I LOVE IT, PAIN, YEAHHHHH, ARRRRRR, HIT ME MORE, YEAH, YEAH, MORE!"
This guy was real shady and he and his buddies gave off the vibe that I was about to get jumped. They actually left after the first set (some fans huh), but dealing with shit like that makes the Wachovia a better show. Again, setlist and overall appreciation for the crowd and the band, Philly will probably go down as one of the better shows PJ has EVER played."If no one sees you, you're not here at all"0 -
Bibliobella wrote:Also, have you seen pictures of fans at the Beatles concert in New York when they first came out, and the fans were screaming, and crying, and their hands were near their faces. Well, I FELT that way when "Alone" was played, I screamed into my hands like I have never done before, and I felt I was at one of the lucky ones at one of the first North American Beatles concerts photographs. Philadelphia is a place to hold a concert, that's for sure.
LOL. I have seen those pictures of young girls screaming at the arrival of the Beatles and they have always freaked me out somewhat. I wonder why a band playing music would cause a human being to cry in that way. They always look like they are in pain or something. That said, I can't help but find it hilarious that you had a similar reaction to them playing Alone last night. I really wish I would have witnessed that. This probably all sounds really mean but I just think seeing that would have been classic. Comparing PJ playing Alone to the Beatles first ever North American appearance....?0
