Joe! I barely got to talk to ya but good seeing you again as always.
I want to write up a huge fanview, but it's late and I'm not up to doing it properly. Maybe I'll get a case of Natty this weekend, chill at home, and do a posthumous drunken review of Philly '05.Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0 -

I was hoping that they would open with wash or release, and I got my wish....yellow ledbetter is one of my favorites that brings back alot of memories, so it was a great choice for closing. It has been a longtime wish of mine to see Pearl Jam live, and I now feel fufilled. It was beautiful. I get emotional just thinking about it.
Ed looked gorgeous as ever, glad to see him with his hair longer like it used to be....unfortunately I was in club box 10, would have loved to have been closer to the stage, but I met some really great people from South Jersey, one of which had a Who hankerchief signed by Ed before the show (so lucky!)...and sung along to every song that I knew the words to. Many moments of "chills up the spine". Couldn't ask for anything more....we paid $5 for binoculars and I am glad we did....almost felt as if I was right there in front of them, even though I know I wasn't. I am now addicted for sure, nothing compares to seeing them LIVE!!!Can't wait to see them again!!! THANK U PEARL JAM!!!!!
we were all in the same club 10
I was 2 rows behind pureandeasy (who had the who bandana with ed's autograph). She was to the left and I was to the right. I had on a lime green v-neck t-shirt.

I couldn't get 10c seats, but was very happy with my section 107 seats! My section was mixed with stoners, hard-core fans, and happy to hear the hits fans.
I just got home late last night, I can't wait to hear my download. The sound was muffled - didn't expect that since every PJ show I've been to was outside. I think I prefer the outdoor shows, but for next year's tour I'm going to try the earplugs for the arena shows.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to the dude sitting behind me who called my cell phone during the show! I don't remember your name, but that was VERY COOL! And I want to say hey to Sam and John from NYC. They met Boom before the show and had awesome pics! thanks for sharing!
I was so impressed with the diversity of the crowd. This was totally a multi generational show. And did anyone else notice that there were a lot of very cool parents bringing their kids to the show? I had 2 in my section, and met a single mom in line to enter with her teenage son. Way to go parents!
The set list was phenomenal, THANK YOU PEARL JAM! I can't wait for the new cd and tour next year!!!!!!I'll ride the wave where it takes me

It's a bit easier saving money for PJ ticketwise since they are so reasonable. They must pick their pricing from the bottom of the ticketmaster chart. Which is cool.
Can anyone help me get a bootleg of the Philly show?"If you were waiting for us, than we were waiting for you" E. Vedder 10-3-05

Oh I'm so glad you posted, because although I asked you, I couldn't specifically remember your user name. I really enjoyed sitting next to you during the show. It was nice to see someone as pumped as I was right next to me.
I was on a total high knowing Ed had signed my Who bandana so I was rocking out. And the set list, to me, was incredible. I've been to many a PJ show, but this one takes the cake and the ice cream and whatever else you want to throw out there.
Best ever.
and to all my friends that I was lucky to catch up with again, Aunt Cherylyou made my year woman!!
uconndave, lab & purple and PJammin' - I had the BEST time. I wish we could do it every night of the week. You guys ROCK!
Cats, I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to chat, but it was nice seeing you again - in the ladies room everytime!Don't come closer or I'll have to go0 -
What an amazing show... I hadn't originally planned on going... I didn't know I'd be in NYC this week.
It was 4pm and I was in Manhattan... had an awful day and a 5:30 meeting canceled. I was 5 blocks from Penn Station, so I jumped on a train to Philly. Didn't have a ticket... just knew I needed a PJ show and was gonna do my best to get in.
I got to Philly, made my way to the subway where I found myself staring at the most confusing map ever, trying to figure out where I was going. This guy in a suit turns to ask me something and I said "don't ask me, I'm from NYC". He said "Me too... I'm just trying to figure out how to get to the PJ show".
Turns out, this new friend of mine (Matt) was going to meet a friend who had an extra ticket (Mich!) Great seats... Went from a really bad day to a really good day just like that!
Amazing show... Hard To Imagine was incredible!!!0 -
pure fucking philly energy... i have seen these guys in a few cities around the continent, and by far philly has the most energy that i have seen to date... by the way, if your are 10c and stand still the whole show, YOU SUCK!0

if that isn't one of the best set lists i ever seen pearljam play i dont know what is. I was in the very last row up top in row 15 but that didnt matter at all. The show was just amazing.... i dont know what it is about being indoors either ? is it me or does the sound seem way better than it did at the tweeter center back in 2003.
i hope everyone in the great city of philadelphia had a great time. I sure as hell did.
Peace0 -

I tend to think the crowd was stunned by what they were hearing.
this setlist was legendary. nothing even comes close. heck, I even had the perfect beer break opportunity when they decided to play, yet again my fav (not), Even Flow.
True, even flow is kinda played - but, like some other "HITS", hearing it live is usually pretty cool with different solos and stuff. And the Evenflow played on Monday featured a pretty sick little Drum Solo at the end...as always PJ knows how to keep things interesting.
Beer breaks at PJ shows are tough...I think I chose to go during Green Disease and Blood08.28.1998 Camden

I was about 20 rows back on right, with a great view of the stage. I felt like I was at eye level with Ed...
Any other 114'ers out there?? We had a pretty decent vibe going where we were.
HI!!! I was in 114 row 2 as well!!!! I was seat 9; aka the crazy blonde girl in the black PJ Reading shirt that wouldn't stop jumping/dancing
I had a wonderful time... I was singing to everything and yelling for Leash and for Boom... god what a wonderful show!! And the guy in the Red Sox jersey in front of me kept giving me high fives cause I knew the words to everything... beauty!!
Best seats ever... I was pretty far back for Reading last year, so I was psyched when I could actually SEE the band this year! I swore Eddie was watching me jump around... but of course anyone would say that
Philly blew Reading and Nissan '03 (the only shows I've been too) out of the water... I had so much fun, everyone around me had a lot of fun, the guy behind me was smoking pot, the whole band was going nuts... cool, we had a good time in 114 didn't we...I was standing right next to guy who kept jumping up and down all night. I felt a bit caged since I am like 6'3" 220 - didn't want to kill anyone by going crazy like I wanted to. I Still did plenty of dancing, cheering, clapping, and JAMMING!!!08.28.1998 Camden

My 15th show. 4th show I have gone alone.
Amazing.
Hard To Imagine, Crown Of Thorns, Sonic Reducer, Around The Bend were
all songs I thought I never would hear.
I couldn't ask for a better set list.
Already looking forward to a tour in 2006.380 -
Daniel Quinn wrote:Wow. That show was for "us". Ament was interviewed by Matt Cord on WMMR and said that they anticipated a lot of fan club so they pulled out the b-sides.
That was a strong set list...feel bad for the "casual" fan that wanted to hear the radio hits.
There were a few people bitching about the setlist behind me on the way out. I thought it was great. Too bad for them!
This was our first time in Philly and we had a great time. Can't wait to go back. Everyone in our section was really into it (111), and in the first set it definately felt like I was a concert with 20,000? friends, and our buddies were up on stage. Thanks everyone.9/16/98, 8/30/00, 7/2/03, 7/11/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 10/1/04, 10/3/05, 5/13/06, 5/24/06, 5/25/060 -
I'll chime in with my perspective ...
First of all, my ticket was in the upper level but when they hit the stage I was in section 113 (I think). The sound from that vantage point was excellent. Saw the whole first set and part of the second from that vantage point (The Gestapo came down during Crown and wanted to see proof of purchase, so I split from there). Eventually moved to the runway behind the stage (sec 119-120) just seconds before the "technical difficulties" on Crazy Mary. I asked the usher if he minded and he didn't. The sound from this locale was "A+" and the view was interesting. It turned out it wasn't ok to stay there after a few others gathered in "my" spot. There were a number of attendees leaving after the first encore and I moved into section 104 for the final leg. This section was toward the back and the sound was muffled. I couldn't understand Ed as he spoke between numbers.
Anyway, the main set was absolutely kick ass with some serious hard rock numbers ... finishing off with Once, Bleed For Me (saw the DK's back in '83), and Blood.
Was hoping for In Hiding, Footsteps, and/or Immortality (figured it wasn't coming out since it was played on Sat in AC). I wonder if there's ever been a gig in the last 5 years where they didn't play Corduroy, Animal, Jeremy, or Black (not to mention Small Town, RVM and Porch).
I can't possibly be the only one that noticed Corin Tucker's ass hanging out of her jeans late in the gig. Reminded me of Dan Ackroyd's plumber on the old SNL.
My buddy was cracking up at Ed with the beer perched on his head. I was looking elsewhere and missed it. There's a great picture of it in another thread.0 -
What a fantastic show, I would say it was one of the best I have been to. I'd list them all but you'd be really jealous. A big "screw you" who came from other sections and crowed the shit out of those who had to pay scalpers for good seats. The sound was good from my seats, and I love a happy and funny Ed. Though, WTF giving a tamborine to the blonde in the cowboy hat on stage? Wasn't being on stage enough?
A little sad we have to wait another (year?) to see them again.
I keep humming Wash, ahhhhLife should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and
well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride! -Unknown0 -
ndv180 wrote:I can't possibly be the only one that noticed Corin Tucker's ass hanging out of her jeans late in the gig.
This comment merits a separate thread. I was in the third row with my wife and when she and Ed started dancing and swinging around on stage we both looked at each other with a blank expression. With each completed spin by Ed another inch of her crack peeked out. Although horrible, it was fascinating and I couldn't look away. Lets never mention this again.support The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
