Section 103 last night was not bad at all!! I would never, ever complain about the location because I had worse seats in Reading last year and it was to date one of my most favorite PJ shows ever! But as I've been saying everywhere, I just wanted to be closer to the 10c sections just to be closer to diehard fans! I wouldn't care if the 10c section were in the 200 levels and that's where my seats were....I just wanted to be with other diehards! But the show last night was priceless....just absolutely amazing!
i hear ya! if i would have known you could have tried to sneak down since the two having the make out session next to us left in the beginning and i had 2 empty seats next to me!!
"I hear Fanch has a Pimp Cup and loves Kiss. I think that's all that really matters."
I'm certainly going to plunk down the $9.99 for the mp3's for this one (and still hope they'll reconsider and release CD-boots). If a CD of this one comes out, I'll pay, again, for it.
Just curious - why would you need CD-boots when you have the mp3s? If you're worried about the gaps between songs, use a good burning software like Nero to cut out the clips and have a short crossfade between the songs. They include disc and cover labels with the downloads, so it's easy to burn and create your own.
I had section 124 row 5, fan club # 318,XXX. I liked it better then the floor at the Borgata for the sight lines, but I liked the Borgata for the old GA feel. I felt bad going nuts in the seats worrying if I was going to hit someone in front of me. No incidents so everything was fine. I thought the show was great as well, but the sound was distorted. I didn't really notice it until after the amp blew up during Crazy Mary. I am just curious if that had something to do with it.
My only complaint was when two guys crashed our row and felt we didn't need the space our seats gave us. Why do people think they can share seats? It is bad enough dancing around in the alloted space the seats give us but when someone bogarts on that space it makes even harder to go spastic with out bothering other fans. Just go to the seats you got and better luck next time. Thanks to John for taking care of those lost boys.
It was good to meet some fellow jammers. I hope to meet some more on the next tour.
I was in the same section, and the same row, and I know exactly what you're talking about. I was so crushed for space by the first encore. I was still trying to jump around like crazy but i didnt want to hurt anybody or ruin anyone's night. It was so awesome seeing so many jammers...high fiving people I'd only met that night, going nuts when the rare ones came on and hearing other people go the same amount of nuts around you because they understood the music. No intruders will stop me from having a good time, though they made it a little less easy. Thank you 10 Club and thank you pearl jam!

We hit the second night at Borgata...and, unfortunately, missed out on this show because I had already booked our flight before they anounced it. I'm disappointed we didn't make it, especially now that I got into a wreck last night at the airport upon leaving I could have been getting jacked up for another PJ show.

Speaking of seat changes we were in section 215 way up and 4 people were in our seats we got there during wash and these fuckers wouldnt move they said no way were they our seats i had my wife a old fella who is somewhat handicapped with me and these guys actually made me get a security guard to move them knowing they were wrong and it didnt get srtaightened out till brain of j
I'm kinda surprised that you were at both Borgata shows and still call Philly the best you've ever been to. I thought the Philly show was fine, but aside from a handful of rarities, everything else was a repeat from the Borgata shows. How can Wachovia compare to seeing them in a venue the size of a high school auditorium? Friday's Borgata had to be the best ever.
I beg to differ on the 'handful of rarities' comment. At the Philly show, they played Wash, Sad, Alone, Leatherman (and the man trilogy), Bleed For Me, Around the Bend, Harvest Moon, Hard To Imagine, Crown of Thorns, Sonic Reducer, Little Sister, etc. Like Sadprofessor said, it was a gift to the fans.
You are right in that the Wachovia can't touch the Borgata experience - the very intimate venue and the incredible sound. But the setlist in Philly was truly amazing, and when it's all said and done, the songs are the main factor in my decision for favoring one show over another.
Also, there were a lot of drunken meatheads at the Borgata. For example, on Sat night one fucker was moshing and kept bumping into my wife and I. I eventually grabbed him by the shirt and told him to WATCH IT, and he then had his buddy punch him in the chest about 25 times while he yelled out "I LOVE IT, PAIN, YEAHHHHH, ARRRRRR, HIT ME MORE, YEAH, YEAH, MORE!"
This guy was real shady and he and his buddies gave off the vibe that I was about to get jumped. They actually left after the first set (some fans huh), but dealing with shit like that makes the Wachovia a better show. Again, setlist and overall appreciation for the crowd and the band, Philly will probably go down as one of the better shows PJ has EVER played.
Also, have you seen pictures of fans at the Beatles concert in New York when they first came out, and the fans were screaming, and crying, and their hands were near their faces. Well, I FELT that way when "Alone" was played, I screamed into my hands like I have never done before, and I felt I was at one of the lucky ones at one of the first North American Beatles concerts photographs. Philadelphia is a place to hold a concert, that's for sure.
LOL. I have seen those pictures of young girls screaming at the arrival of the Beatles and they have always freaked me out somewhat. I wonder why a band playing music would cause a human being to cry in that way. They always look like they are in pain or something. That said, I can't help but find it hilarious that you had a similar reaction to them playing Alone last night. I really wish I would have witnessed that. This probably all sounds really mean but I just think seeing that would have been classic. Comparing PJ playing Alone to the Beatles first ever North American appearance....?
Let me first say that the band was awesome and it was a great set-list. The crowd on the other hand left A LOT to be desired. Many "fans" in my section and in the sections around us were totally dead for most of the night other than for the hits. Most of the fans in our section were more interested in Eagles and Flyers chants than they were in the show. I hate to say it but the lack of energy from the crowd did take something away from this show. I saw the band in Toronto 2 weeks ago and this set list was much better than Toronto but the energy in the crowd made all the difference in the world. Another thing was the sound at the Wachovia Center wasn't too great. This show should have been at MSG.
Dude, you must have been sitting right near me. The people sitting on my left were chanting flyers and the girl kept mentioning the Eagles, the guy asked if I like them, I was like WTF???
And the guy to my right...jesus...what a drunk asshole. My wife finally told him off, he kept screaming at us about how great the show was...I felt like saying 'down there, please don't yell at me' and my wife finally told him to keep it to himself...they ended up finding somewhere else to sit (thankfully). Last year at Boston I had some drunk frat boy to my left. Why me? Why can't i get the nice quiet groovin stoners???
I felt like it was hard for me to relax and get into it (just like at Boston) due to the people around me...sigh...what can you do.
I wish I could have broken out a joint, kicked back and closed my eyes in peace during the concert, letting my body jump and move when and where it would, but I felt harassed and out of sorts.
I still enjoyed it a lot. They were tight (as tight as I've seen them), very with it and together, the sound was decent (as good as I could expect nosebleeds to be). Not paticularly intimate, but hey, I was like 1/2 mile away from the stage surrounded by drunks and boors...
Between MSG friday night 98 (best), State College (2nd best) this is definately third, with Boston 04 on the bottom (I liked being up off the floor, felt better to me). I'm buying the bootleg, kick back, reconnect all over again on my own terms

EDIT : ...and reading this now we were both amazed they didn't play Footsteps if it was on the setlist...its the one thing they've never played that feels like a hole in my heart...I've belted out that song off the Jeremy single so many times...
I just realized that I am a magnet for Crown of Thorns... its been played, what 6 times EVER? I have heard it 3.
A lot of people seem to be pointing out parts of the crowd that didn't seem all that into the show but from where I was, towards the back of the arena, the crowd seemed absolutely amazing. So I am thinking overall those pockets of apathy were pretty small.
I just learned that Footsteps was on the orginal setlist but not played... this of course breaks my heart as I have been clamoring for that song for pretty much as long as I have been going to PJ shows.
I can't decide if this is my favorite show ever, although it might be. Its pretty much between last night and MSG I 2003.

ok so me and my friends arrive at the parking lot alittle before 4pm, we decided to tailgait in the reserved parking lot right across from the box office. we had around 20 people with us, and a nice white tent to keep us out of the sun, plus all of the accessories to keeep us full!! (beer and food)
i saw all of the other pit memebers right across from me under the Green Tent, i knwo i saw Solat13 a few times walk by,( you had the green Redsox shirt on ), it was such a pleasent tailgaiting experience, better then any camden one , the crowds were so composed and welcoming to everyone. the lines to the porta-potties was were all of the chatting went on, i met alot of fans there
well around 740, my sister and i decided that we were going to leave early from the party , and go see Sleater kinney, since we were the onyl ones who liked them or even knew them out of my friends. so by the time i got a tshirt and some food and found out that they were all out of Philly tshirts which mad me sad, we got to our seat rigth around 8pm!
me and a few of my friends all had seat in section 218 right behind the stage , and very far up, so far up , my friend and i were actually in the last row . but it was the coolest section, i mean we got to see everything , the sight of the crowd from what the band sees was just pure wonder and awe. to see a crowd that large all cheering and singing and clapping gave me chills all day
suddenly the lights went out and the audience started cheering , so i leaned over to my sister and said oh here coems sleater kinney, thinking Pj went onstage at 920 at the borgata and it was only 8pm at the Wach, but no eddie and the rest of the band walk on stage and the place goes nuts, so i started thinkign to myself, a full band Pre-set???? but then i slowly realized that Sleater kinney must have went on much much earlier and we were in store for a whole night of music. the onyl thing was , we left all of are friends in the parking lot early to see Sleater kinney, and Pj are now on stage ripping thru Wash!!. but i guess they all got the message because the craziness of everyone rushing to their seats was quite noticeable during Wash!! and my friends walked in during it
i know i had horrible seats by any measure, but i loved them i loved being behind the band , and just looking at the entire audience, the Wach was fcuking Packed, i loved looking at the giant Sea of people going crazy, and the sound comming from everyone was unbelievable.
everytime eddie mention anything about Philly the crowd went crazy!!!
they ripped through so many rockers, it blew my mind , Hail Hail, brain of J, STBC, Gtf, Sad , ALONE, even flow ( mike Was Amazing!!!), Green Disease!, right before it he said Not Quite the Spectrum, had me laughing !!!
i loved that they played Faithfull, total Surprise!! the audience loved it , hearing " And echos", mind shattering!!!
Whipping rocked, the Audience loved it, and went bizerk!!!!
alot of Viatlogy all night!!!
The Man trilogy came Next!! i didnt think most of the audience were familiar with leatherman, but i sung my heart out, Better man was so unbeleiveable, the crowd was soooo loud and even sung louder then eddie during the parts he sung!
nothing man was another crowd pleaser!!!
Bleed for me came on and i didnt recognize it at all, and they sung it Reading , but i stilll didnt remember it, i kept thiunkign it was a new song, but they didnt announce it as one so i was unsure!!, Blood was a fucking great set closer, the lights really make the song so cool and powerfull, i love it !!
then after 18 songs the first set was over and it was still only like 930, i leaned over to my friend and said we are going to be here alll night , they came back on rather quickly from the break, and very surprisingly went into Around the Bend, and to the audiences delight the played harvest moon with SK which sounded soo good, i heard it on the AC2 boot, but PHilly's was much better !!
when they played H2Imagine, i went crazy i was hoping they played it at least once at one of the shows i went to and they did, alot of Bsides last night , which really made me happy, through out the whole night, me and my friends kept trying to guess all of the songs they were about to play from the little riff fiddling they do before each osng , we were so on point ,
Crazt Mary Was fucking , well, Crazy. when that loud speaker sound happened the audience went nuts, and i started laughing because it seems something technical goes wrong at every show i go to . but i was hoping they werent going stop p;laying and switch to another song , like eddie said, and they didnt they picked back up from LOITERING.
Alive was the best version i have ever heard, i mean there was so much energy comming from the band and audience during the song it could have probably powered the building, we belted the song out so loud , i got chills from it ..
the second encore also came rather quickly , no long breaks \
at which eddie said that he always appreiciates the people sitting in the back, and turned around and sung to us, and mike came around and played for us, they did a similar thing at reading, with the same song actually, in my tree was a big surprise , because i never expected it in the second encore, but i loved it
DTE, was yet again amazing and always gets the crowd jumping
Little Sister was played to the very confused/happy audience, it really seemed everyone enjoyed it , my sister leaned over to me and mouthed " i love this song", leaving here was great, especially with SK singing backup!!
RITfw, marked everyone's notice of the closing of the concert, it got the crowd so pumped, it felt like the concert just started, with the lights on, seeing the crowd going crazy and clapping is something i could never forget, and then "mike would like to say goodbye " came .yellowlebetter was a blast it ended alittle before 1130
this was the best show i have seen out of 9, it was defintely better than 4/28 Spectrum for me, the Spectrum was special because it was the first pj concert in three years for me and the first indoors, but the Wach was just the same but so much more energy!!!
we actually got home pretty fast and didnt get trapped in a huge traffic jam like i expected, i was home by 1200am, only because we had to drop peopole off.
"I Will Scream my Lungs out 'til it fills this Room "
" I Will Feel Alive as Long as I am Free"

Section 114 Row 2 Seat 3 & 4 - Great 10c Tickets!!! My number is 304XXX.
I was about 20 rows back on right, with a great view of the stage. I felt like I was at eye level with Ed...
Any other 114'ers out there?? We had a pretty decent vibe going where we were.
Yeah man...we were in 114 Row 9 (3&4). My number is 339xxx so I was blown away with where we ended up.
I have to admit I was basically stuck with a big dumb grin on my face for the first 1/3 of the show (my first one).
The songs, the band, ed's voice, the whole package has just meant so much to me over the years that I teared up when ed took the stage with SK for Promised Land. I couldn't believe I finally made it. I still can't believe it as I listen to the boot right now. Needless to say, a really emotional night...
I couldn't pick any particular highlight. The whole f*cking thing was a highlight.

...the Spectrum was special because it was the first pj concert in three years for me and the first indoors, but the Wach was just the same but so much more energy!!!
the band was superb, but i have to kindly disagree about the energy of the crowd. although it was a good crowd, it didn't live up to the crowd at the Spectrum in 2003. i can still remember how powerful that crowd was. even when PJ first took the stage the ovation went on for MINUTES.
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.
I do not put much weight on whether a crowd is into a show, loud or participating … to me what makes a great show is the setlist, sound and vibe from the band. I couldn't care less about the crowd singing, cheering non-stop … besides, the Philly crowd was just about where I want a crowd to be: participating when called upon, but not trying to overtake what's trying to be done on stage.
This show was right up there with my best ever: first night, MSG 03 …
setlist-wise better than MSG, but sound and overall dynamics has to go to MSG — there was something really transcendant going on that particular night. (i know, sounds silly)
"Well his wife and kids asleep but he's still awake

amazng show, just got back from PHILLY to NYC, stayed at a freinds over night, amazing setlist, awesome it was for the die hards, being last show of mini-tour for us. ed was funny, set was awesome, H2I - crown of thorns is better than breath into crown of thorns & i thought nothing would top that, gotta let it sak it , but it was my 15th jam shpw & definitley one of my best
I do not put much weight on whether a crowd is into a show, loud or participating … to me what makes a great show is the setlist, sound and vibe from the band.
well, the vibe of the band feeds off the energy of the crowd. they Go hand in hand. IMO
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.
Thank you Pearl Jam for playing Hard to Imagine. Words can not describe how much this song means to me. When Stone strummed the opening notes, I fell backwards in GardenDogg in a daze, the shock didn't wear off for the rest of the night.
Thank you Ten Club for the amazing seats (Sec 115, Row 1, Stone's side, comparitive to 5th row on the floor, 10c #: 232xxx).
The set was like a dream come true. Coming back down to reality is rough. I can't wait for '06!
set may have been the best ever, certainly right up there with Bonaroya and Boston #3
sound sucked... no way to argue that, unless you were in the first few rows and listening to the amps instead of the PA, which i was not, and that is just a guess... will have to listen to the boot to actually hear the songs clearly...
crowd was marginal... not even close to 4.28.03 with respect to intensity, and this was not all die-hard fans.. most appeared confused at times at the songs being played... nothing like Borgata #1, but it was a 20,000+ seat arena...
definitely one of the most creative and diverse sets from a band that has now set itself apart from all others as the premier touring band... there simply is no band in the same league...
37 PJ Shows, 3 EV Shows, 1134 Total Songs, 24 Different Openers, 9 Different Closers, 252 Unique Songs (never enough)
I was in the 2nd row center stage. I have seen a few shows from this perspective and was blown away as always. The sound was not much better down there either. We had trouble hearing Mike for most of the night. I am pretty sure I had a shit eating grin on my face for most of the night. Most of the stories from the evening have been shared here already. Nobody mentioned how into it Stone was, especially the 2nd half of the show. They were all having such a good time, it was hard not to notice and feed off of the vibe. This was especially sweet because my brother and I had to give up Canada because my mom got sick and ended up in the hospital. It was too late to even transfer the 10club tickets to anyone. I sure as hell hope they went up to the fan club member with the worst seats and just gave them away so that they did not go to waste. Loved the way they gave out 10 club tickets. No waiting in line all day, just an envelope with 2 tickets and your name on it. Contrary to what many have been saying, this was not a huge 10 club crowd. I remember that there was a lottery for 10club members and hearing that only 2000 went to us. Not sure about the number of ten clubbers, but the crowd was not as loud as other shows. What an amazing set list. I have been to many of the so called great shows and as far as set lists go, this was most likely the best. I agree with an earlier post about MSG 1, something about that night was out of this world. I cannot wait to do it all over again next summer. I am going to Paul McCartney tommorow night and expect a let down, and this is even hard for me to believe.

I had tons of pictures of him on the camera last night...I should have showed them to you...Rats...
ok so me and my friends arrive at the parking lot alittle before 4pm, we decided to tailgait in the reserved parking lot right across from the box office. we had around 20 people with us, and a nice white tent to keep us out of the sun, plus all of the accessories to keeep us full!!

The whole f*cking thing was a highlight.

the band was superb, but i have to kindly disagree about the energy of the crowd. although it was a good crowd, it didn't live up to the crowd at the Spectrum in 2003. i can still remember how powerful that crowd was. even when PJ first took the stage the ovation went on for MINUTES.
This show was right up there with my best ever: first night, MSG 03 …
setlist-wise better than MSG, but sound and overall dynamics has to go to MSG — there was something really transcendant going on that particular night. (i know, sounds silly)
and his brain weighs the curse of thirty bills unpaid
gets up, lights a cigarette, he's grown to hate
thinking if he can't sleep, how will he ever dream again?"
awesome, amazing, unreal
well, the vibe of the band feeds off the energy of the crowd. they Go hand in hand. IMO
Thank you Ten Club for the amazing seats (Sec 115, Row 1, Stone's side, comparitive to 5th row on the floor, 10c #: 232xxx).
The set was like a dream come true. Coming back down to reality is rough. I can't wait for '06!
sound sucked... no way to argue that, unless you were in the first few rows and listening to the amps instead of the PA, which i was not, and that is just a guess... will have to listen to the boot to actually hear the songs clearly...
crowd was marginal... not even close to 4.28.03 with respect to intensity, and this was not all die-hard fans.. most appeared confused at times at the songs being played... nothing like Borgata #1, but it was a 20,000+ seat arena...
definitely one of the most creative and diverse sets from a band that has now set itself apart from all others as the premier touring band... there simply is no band in the same league...
yep, a wicked trilogy. heavenly.
Especially during crazy mary..."I never called her insane publicly before"
And then Stone kept playing that Am chord to start the song over looking at eddie but Ed didn't want to...
